Sorry

...I guess I need a hint, 'cause I don't see anything.

The Perky Ent 04-08-2004 07:10 PM

This is a big hint, so you owe me, but...it's a hobbit!

Kath 04-17-2004 12:46 PM

Lotho. Its Lotho!
Um . . . Sav - a -LOT. HO!

The Perky Ent 04-17-2004 03:48 PM

it is most certainly lotho!

Kath 04-18-2004 06:54 AM

Yay - darn this means I have to make one up.

I don't know how many of you have read the Discworld novels but my favourites are the ones about Commander Vimes and his wife Sybil. Both of them are very funny, as are the books.

One word and its very easy.

Evisse the Blue 04-18-2004 07:57 AM

Well, I got two, Rethe:
Quote:

are the
and Bilbo:
Quote:

Sybil. Both
, but I guess the first just happened to be there by coincidence :)

Kath 04-19-2004 11:48 AM

See said it was easy.
I was only looking for Bilbo so you got it right, but extra points for rethe!

Evisse the Blue 04-20-2004 03:27 AM

Thanks for the extra points, Kath.
Ok, let's see...

He pushed open the door of his room in the new age hotel. 'A normal one would be better', he thought gloomily. The radio in the walls was shrieking: 'Life is a cabaret, old chum'. Barely seeing his way through the dimly lit room, he moved towards a many- layered window to pull open the blinds. 'Cabaret, heh, yeah, right!' he mumbled ironically, at the scene that greeted him.

There's four to be found.

Kath 04-20-2004 03:02 PM

You're welcome.
I found:
ent - opEN The
elanor - hotEL. 'ANORmal
sam - towardS A Many
rethe - cabaRET, HEh

The Saucepan Man 04-20-2004 07:23 PM

There's also " A normal one" - Ormal.

Evisse the Blue 04-22-2004 06:10 AM

Kath, you got two that I had in mind (Elanor and Rethe) and two which I didn't (Sam and Ent), for which you get a bonus! :D
Saucepan Man gets bonus point as well for Ormal.

There's still two place names to be found though, so keep browsing! :)

Kath 04-22-2004 01:45 PM

I can't really see amy more except that every time I look at it I find
humbar - cHUM'. BARely

Mad Baggins 04-22-2004 05:03 PM

I found Oin:
radio in

And you may see humbar, but I see Umbar.

Evisse the Blue 04-23-2004 04:28 AM

umbar is correct but you keep missing that heavenly place called ....

Mad Baggins 04-23-2004 06:40 PM

Aha!

'A normal

I found Anor, as in Minas Anor. That's the best I can do...if that isn't it I'm stumped.

Evisse the Blue 04-26-2004 01:15 AM

You're right , Mad Baggins, but there's yet another one...ok, I'll give it away - it's Aman - towards A MANy.

Now, for points - Kath got four,
Saucepan Man- one,
Mad Baggins - three.

According to this, Kath should give us the next one! :)

Kath 04-26-2004 03:11 AM

'Quick! Eat that ham faster, we have to lay forth the anchor and save Frodo!"
Three to find and no Frodo is not one of them.

Thorongil 04-26-2004 03:45 AM

HAM FASTer - Hamfast
EAt - Ea
TO Lay - Tol, as in Tol Eressea

Kath 04-26-2004 02:10 PM

Hamfast is correct but I wasn't looking for the other two. Points for Ea but not for Tol as I'd have put the whole thing in.
Two to find.

Kath 04-30-2004 01:29 PM

Come on people, its not that hard I swear!

NightKnight 04-30-2004 01:43 PM

Quote:

lay forth the anchor
That would be Orthanc. I don't know if that's one of the words.

Kath 04-30-2004 01:49 PM

Yep, one more to find.

Kath 05-07-2004 03:44 AM

OK this is obviuosly stumping people - clue:
its in the last word

Fingolfin II 05-07-2004 03:59 AM

Is the last one ODO (as in Odo Proudfoot)?

Kath 05-07-2004 03:12 PM

Indeed, take the stage.

Kath 05-15-2004 03:55 AM

Fingolfin II? Are you around?

The Perky Ent 08-06-2004 11:43 AM

10 day rule!

It's amazing how stupid men can be. Especially from Numenor. I mean, they're so stupid! They go charging off, sending every person to their deaths! I know what a faithful would said. He'd say "Well I'm not suprised! They're idiots! Especially Ar-Pharazon. He was definitly a powerhungry idiot of a man! We actually have the common sense not to do stupid things. That's why we survive!"

Find the hidden person!

Evisse the Blue 08-06-2004 11:51 AM

I found Sam (it'S AMazing) and Manwe (MAN! WE actually)

The Perky Ent 08-06-2004 11:53 AM

You found Sam? Rock the socks! I had no idea that was there! The one I was thinking of was Manwe, so your go!

Evisse the Blue 08-06-2004 12:24 PM

"The river froze, Dora, see - like I told you!Let's go skating! We'll be back in time for lunch!
Two to be found.

Firefoot 08-06-2004 12:56 PM

Edoras (frozE, DORA, See) and Ingwe (skatING! WE'll)

Evisse the Blue 08-06-2004 01:03 PM

Correct, your turn!

Firefoot 08-06-2004 01:47 PM

Thanks!

The armor went when the knight left, but he forgot the helmet. He also left his horse.

Samwise 08-06-2004 02:00 PM

I found Ent (went) and ea (or is that a word...?He also ....but how many words are there?

Evisse the Blue 08-06-2004 02:07 PM

There's also Morwen (arMOR WENt)

Firefoot 08-06-2004 04:10 PM

I only had one that I intended. It was Morwen, so Evisse, you're up.

Evisse the Blue 08-11-2004 03:29 AM

Here's the next:

Someone's sabotaged my Video Game! A rascal was he who done it! Now I can only play Sam at all levels! (true story, btw... :( )

Two to be found. (Sam is not one of them)

LePetitChoux 08-11-2004 03:13 PM

Mearas and er... Calwa?

luthien-elvenprincess 08-11-2004 07:27 PM

The other is Nessa?

Evisse the Blue 08-12-2004 04:49 AM

Mearas and Nessa are the ones I had in mind, so any of you can go, whoever thinks of a new one first, I guess. :)
