The key word of centention/definition
here is "made." (It can be rather fun being a Delphic Oracle-unless
perhaps you're on the receiving end). So in answer to the question,
I do not know of it being used/made in the Second Age, so...no.

Tuor in Gondolin 12-10-2010 03:00 PM

On reflection, I lean towards it being considered "made."
:)

I know!:D But don't you worry, it's plenty of fun to prod the Oracle.

Well, since you had to reflect on whether to consider it "made", are you perhaps using "make" here in about the same sense as in "make breakfast" or "make the bed"?
Or, since you can't really be expected to bother with quoting such a ridiculously long question, let me rephrase that in fewer words: Is it perhaps a non-permanent object?

Is it perhaps a non-permanent object? Very good. Yes.

Pitchwife 12-10-2010 03:37 PM

Galadriel's mirror? A great guess. But wrong.:( No.

Galadriel55 12-11-2010 08:15 AM

Galadriel's phial?

Tuor in Gondolin 12-11-2010 01:07 PM

Galadriel's phial?
Nyet.

Pitchwife 12-11-2010 01:31 PM

Hmmm. This is tricky indeed. Let's tackle it from a different angle, then.
Could it be held in hand?

Tuor in Gondolin 12-11-2010 03:05 PM

Could it be held in hand?
Nein.

In fact, you might say,
The more you grasp it the more it slips away.

Galadriel55 12-12-2010 08:54 AM

This is really confusing. Is it dreams? Sorry if it doesn't make any sense, but its the best I can come up with.

Tuor in Gondolin 12-12-2010 12:53 PM

Is it dreams?
No. It's material.

Hint: When was it used? Who by?

Pitchwife 12-12-2010 01:05 PM

OK then: Was it used in the Third Age?

And I just had another idea - the writing on the Moria Gates in ithildin?

Tuor in Gondolin 12-12-2010 01:50 PM

And I just had another idea - the writing on the Moria Gates in ithildin?
Nope.

Hmm. The Third Age does span quite a few years.

Pitchwife 12-12-2010 02:16 PM

What has it got in its mind? We wonders, my precioussss. Yes, we wondersss...

Was it made/used/(insert appropriate verb) within the last millennium of the Third Age (i.e. after TA 2000) ?

Tuor in Gondolin 12-12-2010 02:52 PM
