MAJOR HINT: LOOK AT THE PARENTS BROTHERS AND SISTERS

Estanesse 11-07-2003 10:46 AM

At least one of there parents had a brother???

Lindolirian 11-07-2003 02:48 PM

Luthien's father's brother was Olwë
Celebrian's mother's brother was (or the most well known) was Finrod Felagund
Maeglin's mother's brother was Turgon
Tuor's father's brother was Hurin
Arwen's father's brother was Elros

Olwë was the ruler of Alqualondë
Finrod was the ruler of Nargothrond
Turgon was the ruler of Gondolin
Hurin was the ruler of Dor-lómin.
Elros was the ruler of Numenorë.

In short, all their uncles were powerful rulers.

Extra HINT: Frodo/Bilbo

Finwe 11-07-2003 10:16 PM

All of them were raised, or influenced, at some point by their rich, famous uncles???

Telchar 11-08-2003 07:26 AM

Forget the aunts and uncles

Eowyn:Lady of Rohan 11-08-2003 07:11 PM

I'll take a guess. Is it the fact they were raised by one parent?

Telchar 11-09-2003 02:45 AM

no

Telchar 11-09-2003 07:57 AM

HINT: OK take a look at the cousins - its all about cousins

Lindolirian 11-11-2003 06:53 PM

<font color= "green"> Luthien's cousin: Earwen
Celebrian's cousin: Finduilas
Maeglin's cousin: Idril Celebrindal
Tuor's cousin: Nienor
Arwen's cousin: Aragorn?

Each one of these people was loved by someone, but they didn't return the love.

Good thinking Lindo.... but still no...

Luthien's cousin: Earwen <--- RIGHT COUSIN
Celebrian's cousin: Finduilas <--- RIGHT COUSIN
Maeglin's cousin: Idril Celebrindal <--- WRONG COUSIN
Tuor's cousin: Nienor <--- RIGHT COUSIN
Arwen's cousin: Aragorn? <--- WRONG COUSIN

Find the correct cousins for Maeglin and Arwen and you might be able to see the connection...

Telchar 11-14-2003 10:06 AM

Telchar 11-23-2003 11:49 AM

to quote yourself: It was a walk in the park ...

Merry
Frodo
Pippin
Bilbo

Estanesse 11-23-2003 04:34 PM

Not very creative of me but they are all cousins of Frodo.

OR

They all where record holders, more or less.

Merry and Pippin are the tallest hobbits.
Frodo is the best hobbit in the Shire according to Gandalf and Bilbo.
Bilbo is the oldest hobbit.

OR

Or Gandalf had a clear opinion about them.

Frodo the best hobbit of the Shire
Pippin a fool
Merry repaid his trust
Bilbo the burglar
