That's what I thought, too, since I'd never given a negative rep before. I've only ever given one, and when I did I thought of what people were saying here and made sure that "approve" was selected lest I accidentally give a negative rep... but it was selcted automatically for whatever reason.

That's right! It was me! *malicious laughter*

Just kidding. Like I said, I have only given negative rep once, and it wasn't to Aina.

Well, if you wouldn't mind getting a negative rep from me, we can surely answer that question for you. Or you can just wait from one of the admins. :D

Ooh it would be more gallant if I neg repped you... especially since you are so far ahead of me ;)

Oh good. Who would give me a negative rep? That's just rediculous. I mean, I don't swear, or intentionally spell things wrong, or write off-topic posts.....um, oh shoot. Sorry guys.

Wee-hee! The benevolence of Esty has catapulted me into Aragorn's court. Make way, Anduril, there's a real sword in town now...

Eomer of the Rohirrim 05-16-2005 11:08 AM

If I may say so Anguirel, your rise to the Court has been swift and decisive. You are clearly a cool calculating politician, sir. :D

Anguirel 05-16-2005 11:13 AM

Well, you know, some people say I'm pretty incisive. And I don't hesitate to cut people dead if I have to. Ho ho ho...

Nimrodel_9 05-16-2005 07:56 PM

I finally made it to Aragorn's Court! Thanks for all the rep points! :)

wilwarin538 05-23-2005 05:48 PM

My rep points are at 123. I find that amusing.

elronds_daughter 05-24-2005 06:17 AM

Mine are at 101 now, thanks to Nimmy. <gold star goes to Nimmy>

wilwarin538 05-26-2005 06:58 PM

Scrap my last post, I am now at 151 thanks to HI! :D :D :D

THE Ka 05-27-2005 03:39 AM

Just wanted to express my grattitude to Nimmy and or HI for their reps. I'm now somehow in Aragorn's Court. Though I don't If I will like it here is beyond me, but I enjoy a compliment. So, much thanks to you two. I will let you both find a conclusion to who exactly help me get here, though you don't if you don't want to. Just means more thank yous and nice-to-know yous.

And in light of reputations, I thought I would throw this quote out:

HerenIstarion 05-30-2005 03:49 PM

Beyond the ford, behind the hedge, is he?

You are both welcome

That aside, I have a question: where did Fordim go? Do not mistake me, I see him right now online, 'last activity Viewing Index The Barrow-Downs Discussion Forum @ 01:32 AM' etc etc, but he does not appear on the member list any more, and his profile does not show 'send PM' option. What's wrong?

I would have written him in the first place, but I have no means (due to reasons given above)

This place seems mostly appropriate to ask away, though, as participants, I believe, tend to stare at the list a lot ;)

cheers

Bêthberry 05-30-2005 08:28 PM

Hedging the issue

I have noticed Fordim's absence as well, HI. He was on the reputations list two weeks ago when I surpassed him *cough* and briefly held third spot, until SpM took over the werewolf game and restored his saucy reputation.

I have, however, sent a missive to our mighty Admins in the hopes they can restore our Fordim to our midst. He has turned into a dreaded Ringwraith on his Rohan game, but let us all hope that does not mean he is now equally disembodied to us here.

BW, Sharkey, Mr. Underhill?

Encaitare 05-30-2005 08:52 PM

Ack! Fordie's gone missing! This is very disturbing.

Maybe the werewolves got him.

Lhunardawen 05-30-2005 09:38 PM

*eek*

I knew something's wrong with the member (by reputation) list...

THE Ka 05-30-2005 09:45 PM

Great! Now we will officially be going to the spam wolves! Fordim better return, or we might be strung up with nonsense post and ennui topics.

I do hope they return, it will be quiet a bore here without them. :(

The Barrow-Wight 05-30-2005 09:51 PM

I'm not sure if you all are blind or I have admin X-ray glasses, but Fordim shows up on the Members list in the #5 position when sorted by reputation.

Lindolirian 05-30-2005 10:17 PM

I'm not an admin and I lost my X-ray glasses... They're blind.

Lhunardawen 05-30-2005 10:20 PM

Okay, I was blind.

piosenniel 05-31-2005 01:48 AM

There was a glitch with Fordim. Mr. Underhill fixed it. That's why you can all find FH now.

Hookbill the Goomba 05-31-2005 03:44 AM

This is strange.

Good grief! Am I really 20th in the whole of the Barrow Downs?
Good Lord! That’s a present surprise.

Lhunardawen 05-31-2005 10:30 PM

Must be all those crazy Crazy Captions, Hookbill. :)

Hookbill the Goomba 06-01-2005 03:46 AM

That’s probably true, Lhunardawen, I've had full pages of C-C reps. What's puzzling me is the fact that its usually the ones I don't think are that funny that get repped.

Fordim Hedgethistle 06-01-2005 09:34 AM

I am now back and able to post and PM and all that.

Thanks to all those who noted my disappearance and in particular to HI and Bb who alerted the powers that be so that I could be re-embodied.

For a few days there I thought that I had been Barrow-Wighted!!

Estelyn Telcontar 06-01-2005 12:09 PM

The Downs wouldn't be the same without you, Fordie - and you are sorely missed on the CbC discussions... (poke, poke)

Boromir88 06-02-2005 10:11 AM

I won't be on for a little bit. My comp at home got a crap load of viruses and crashed it. And my niece (on the other side of the state) has my windows disk to start it back from scratch. :( Don't have too much fun witout me.

Mithalwen 06-02-2005 12:20 PM

well I don't know that you are allowed to have fun on the hallowed slopes of Taniquetil... you probably have to be sober and reverent at all times. COngratulations on your elevation none the less..:D

Encaitare 06-02-2005 06:20 PM

Whoa... I'm on the Straight Road. I must say I never thought that would happen -- so a huge thank you to all who helped me get there. Thanks for leaving comments, too; they always bring a smile to my face. :)

I notice that the jewel count doesn't change between the Straight Road and Taniquetil... at what point amount do you reach the lofty peak?

Boromir88 06-02-2005 07:09 PM

Well, I've fixed the problem quicker than I expected. Only spent about 5 hrs on it :p . But, got it up and going, and installed some extra protection ware and upgraded to 9.0 :D .

I thank aina, for finally getting me over the hump...I wonder if it was coincidence that you read my post right when you were watching Napolean Dynamite? Anyway thankyou. And Thankyou all who enjoyed reading what I had to post.

Funny you should say that because I was actually. I rented it for the week and I was multi-tasking (you know, on my laptop I was watching the movie and surfing the downs) and it was just perfect. You're very welcome.

You know what's funny? When someone important (and by important I mean someone with 10+ rep point power) reps without signing...wonder who that could be.

It could be accidental, a finger slip on the Enter key or a temporary lapse in concentration. I did that last week...

Ainaserkewen 06-03-2005 06:09 PM

Good point.

The exact thing happened to me only yesterday... Ooohhh!

I always spell check my posts, p-ms and Rep giving, obviously some people don't. I say this as I received this Rep yesterday, from someone who was obviously in a hurry.

I'm not sure that 10 points is really all that much anymore...

Well sadly it is a lot to me right now :(

Encaitare 06-04-2005 02:07 PM

10 points is certainly respectable! I'm not sure what my point sway is, though.

Boromir88 06-04-2005 03:38 PM

1 point for every 100 rep points.

1 point for every 1,000 posts.

1 point for every year you are a member.

Looking at that Enca, I would guess maybe 13?
