I'll second and third what has been said before. =) I surely appreciate your hard work on the photo page and it is really a nice way to make the fourm experience less impersonal. This way we can have a face for the comments we read and it is a bit more like a community of people rather than of very inteligent humanoid text producing robots :p

But all jokes aside, I thank you and wish your cat, car and yourself good =)

I'm dressed up as King Philip II as France for the Mediaeval Banquet I attended last Thursday...

Ang - have you got a "Room without much of a view" or are you becoming an anchorite?

Anguirel 05-25-2006 01:05 PM

Sort of both. I love my room actually. It's far longer than it looks and it's always dark and forbidding, which makes me feel as if I'm ruling over some medieval hall...sort of serious here...although the walls are covered in Titian posters...so quite Renaissance. (Not to mention Venus of Urbino desktop)

While the view is a bit, ah, austere, the window's also got access to the roof and I can hear anyone coming in by the boy's entrance if I want. If I were to conquer my boarding house, this would be the place to start...

And the housemaster's kitchen is close by for possible raiding.

As Mith pointed out by PM, a painting commemorating my recent murder of Glirdan can be spotted left of the window, ho ho...

Diamond18 05-25-2006 01:28 PM

But Glirdan was not a pheasant. :p

Anguirel 05-25-2006 01:47 PM

Actually I think it's a grouse. Though that's a fairly uneducated guess...not flamboynt enough for a pheasant, too fat for a quail or partridge...

Azaelia of Willowbottom 05-27-2006 05:40 AM

Nice photo, Ang. Where did you get your costume, if you don't mind my asking? It looks awesome. I wish there were medieval banquets around where I live, but we don't usually get that kind of thing.

Once my dad gets his roll of film developed, you might actually see some pictures of me...I don't have anything recent at the moment.

Eomer of the Rohirrim 05-27-2006 06:38 AM

That is one cool outfit, Ang. And, if I may say, you remind me very much of one of the men of ancient times, of the line of Túrin you may well pass for.

Anguirel 05-27-2006 06:38 AM

My dressing up cupboard at home. As you can imagine, I spent my entire childhood as a knight (with occasional interludes of gentleman piracy...).

Tigerlily Gamgee 06-12-2006 04:03 PM

Another update done today, June 12th. It looks like this one per month update trend may be the way it ends up going. So, allow at least a month for your picture to show up, depending on when you email it to me.
The good news... we're on to page 3 now!

I may have fun photos to share in a few weeks... I'm going to Toronto to The Gathering of the Fellowship (hopefully... assuming it still goes... which it probably will) and to see the musical! I'm excited!

Pallando? I thought it was Gandalf......

Rune Son of Bjarne 06-14-2006 12:54 PM

It must have been Elrond The Swindler !

narfforc 06-14-2006 02:11 PM

It can't be Gandalf, the fellow (I presume a male) is dressed in blue?

Lalwendë 06-14-2006 03:18 PM

I think its some kind of Smurf convention. ;)

Which one is the smurf though?

:p

narfforc 06-14-2006 11:31 PM

I am not sure Davem will be happy with you calling him a Smurf Lal, however where did you meet this fellow, was it at a convention, or was he shopping in Asda?

Brinniel 06-18-2006 01:21 PM

Ah, it feels good to be back on the photo page. I feel like I'm part of the BD family again. :)

The email you sent in said "DaveM and Pallando"... does this need to be changed to say "Gandalf", then?

No - Pallando is correct. It was a bit of a joke...... Er, you had to be there :p

narfforc 06-20-2006 12:44 AM

I object to it being called a bit of a joke Davem , that beared chap I believe is The Great U.R.R Jokin, I thought I had seen him before, wasn't that picture taken at Aston University on the occasion of the 50th Anniversary, I knew I knew him, met him loads of times, mad as a March Hare by all accounts, did he bore you silly with his book There or Thereabouts, The Quest of Errorbore and The Halfbit?

Mattius 06-24-2006 05:55 PM

I haven't posted on here for a long time but here's a newish picture of me if you want to replace my old one. Thanks!

Wow, Mattius. Long time no see. :)

Btw, nice picture.

Mattius! Welcome back. Sweet shades.

Aww, how nice of you to say so. http://www.xanga.com/Images/blush.gif
I have about a dozen senior pictures like that one getting posted on my family kitchen wall. It's rather awkward to be staring at yourself while eating....

Balin999 06-28-2006 03:21 AM

As long as your other self doesn't speak to you, it's ok :)

Kath 06-28-2006 04:19 AM

Eomer of the Rohirrim 07-02-2006 11:34 AM

This is quite tiresome and for that I apologise, but last time I tried to upload pictures onto this thread they were slightly too big and I have no clue as to how to edit them. Apparently, pics must be under 100KB, but there are some pics bigger than that on this thread.

Diamond18 07-02-2006 03:39 PM

Those images are hosted on different sites (such as photobucket.com) and posted with the IMG tags. Ex: [ img ] http://photobucket.com/blahblahblah/blah [ /img ]

Eomer of the Rohirrim 07-03-2006 05:44 AM

Thanks everyone. I had no idea. :)

The second one is really to prove that I am, in fact, Scottish and am free to wear a kilt. I would have liked to show you a better picture and I did honestly take about a thousand photographs, but the quality is generally poor (I'm no photographer) and I don't know how to make it better on the computer. The others look quite fuzzy and so I show you this image of a rather shy-looking me.

The first one is really to prove that I have eyes. :D

All these years, and I haven't been lying to you.

Well, Eomer, that first picture said only one thing to me. Due to the blur effect and sheer Collin Baker nature of your hair...

Hope you're not offended. :p

Eomer of the Rohirrim 07-07-2006 03:34 PM

I don't watch the show, and I don't see the connexion, but I love it all the same! :D

Did I ever tell you you're a genius, Hook?

Rune Son of Bjarne 07-07-2006 03:35 PM

There is just something about men in kilts. . . My friends loves to weare them as well. (are they allowed?)

Anyways I have realised that I will probably never get the photo I want. . . Me wearing a chainmail, a viking helmet and holding a viking sword. However these things are expensive, so I might submit a normal photo next week. (after my return from Finland)

Celuien 07-07-2006 05:16 PM

Those pictures are great, Eomer. :)

And Hookbill -! The resemblance is striking!

Its just a shame Oxbridge didn't share this view. :p

Feanor of the Peredhil 07-08-2006 08:20 AM

Eomer, my dear, *swoon*. Kilt? How wonderful.

Glirdan 07-08-2006 08:47 AM

Well, maybe you can't see the glint in my eyes, but you can definetly see it in his in the first picture!! Nice pics Eomer! :D

Ooooh, the long awaited Kilted Scotsman picture! :D And what a yellow room.

I scoff. Not only do 99% of my pictures turn out horribly because I'm so photographically inept it's disgusting, but they get worse when I scan them onto the computer (because the scanner is generally old and decrepit, and leaves odd specks and streaks on the image). My photography is way worse than yours. :p

Er, yeah, I'm just complainig because all the pictures I took of the cat didn't turn out, and so all that premium cuteness I thought I was capturing is lost forever. And ever! *sob* But I digress.

My hair is short now. This is, like, big news.

Kath 07-08-2006 03:40 PM

Wow Di, you look exactly like my aunt.

Diamond18 07-08-2006 03:50 PM

Maybe I am your aunt.
