So don't mind my bad english, it will be better ;)

Boromir88 12-18-2004 06:56 PM

Welcome to the downs Apple, hope you enjoy the forums. Don't worry about the English thing, I'm american, and my English is rather bad. I just make up words that don't even exist. :)

Gil-Galad 12-18-2004 08:00 PM

welcome Apple Juice! to the downs! i'm canadian, my english isn't bad but it can still have some improvement...

http://www.handykult.de/plaudersmili...ad/soupson.gif Excuse me? Not all Americans have a poor command of the English language, thank you.

[You tell 'em, Saph.]

Takua...

[I'm just saying!]

Go read some MSTs.

[Fine...]

Oh, and to draw on a developing theme:

You killed my brother! I mean, my computer! http://www.handykult.de/plaudersmilies.de//bawling.gif

rutslegolas 12-19-2004 02:10 AM

Welcome Apple Juice , to the Downs may you enjoy death here .
And may you also enjoy the bitter fights going on between Gil-Galad and Boromir88,dont worry you will get used to both of them .

elronds_daughter 12-19-2004 08:18 AM

Welcome to the 'Downs, Apple juice! Enjoy being dead. It's been much fun for the rest of us.

Saphy, I agree with you. There are quite a few Americans who have an excellent command of this intricate tangled web of a lanugage called English.

Apple juice 12-19-2004 12:10 PM

Thanks for the wellcome! :) I think I'll have a great time here (even though I don't understand half of what you're saying) ;)

Gil-Galad 12-19-2004 12:54 PM

heh heh...sorry right now i'm only trying to learn Russian and German, i might go Serbian if i have time...

elronds_daughter 12-19-2004 02:21 PM

You'll get it eventually, Apple, don't worry.

Encaitare 12-19-2004 03:29 PM

Welcome, apple juice; I love your avatar!

If you're referring to the English, don't worry, you'll catch on quickly. And if you're referring to Boromir and Gil-Galad.... well, oftentimes we don't really understand them either. ;)

Tuor of Gondolin 12-19-2004 04:36 PM

"I think I'll have a great time here (even though I don't understand half of what you're saying)"
--------------------
Well, as for myself, I don't know half of the posters half as well as I should like;
and I like less than half of them half as well as they deserve. :)

Actually, it's a good idea being here, if only to practice English, since I
believe Bulgaria has applied to enter the EU, and English seems to be
increasingly the common language of the modern business world.

They don't? I mean...oh shucks. I'm just kidding guys. (Once again I would stick a smiley in here except I'm boycotting them.)

Oh, and...Hi Apple Juice. A sincere Good Luck on understanding these combinations of letters we call English.

Apple juice 12-19-2004 06:13 PM

I understand you most of the time :D I'm just not very good at making a sentence  (as you can see)

May I ask why?

Well, you just made two perfectly good sentences right there. :)

Elennar Starfire 12-20-2004 09:47 PM

You're doing just fine, Apple. I know a few people who couldn't put a proper sentence together if they're life depended on it. (And have edited papers for some of them...)

Don't worry too much about it.

Mattius 12-21-2004 04:44 PM

Finally I am back and not just for Christmas- for real this time!! It took me long enough to reactivate my account here but I look forward to posting away in the near future.

Matt

Boromir88 12-21-2004 04:50 PM

Welcome back to the downs Mattius, enjoy being dead ;) .

Encaitare 12-21-2004 09:34 PM

Welcome back, Mattius. :)

Gil-Galad 12-21-2004 09:43 PM

Glad to have you back Mattius

Marky Lazer 12-22-2004 09:37 AM

Hello, I just got here. And I guess this is the place to say hello... and that what I just did :)

Boromir88 12-22-2004 09:46 AM

You found the right place, welcome to the downs.

Feanor of the Peredhil 12-22-2004 10:32 AM

You all would never believe the number of "old" members who were on the other day. It was astounding. It felt like the good ol' days, when I was but a freshly buried corpse... And when I saw Mattius... I simply said "!!!" Yes, that's right... "!!!" No words were needed to express myself... :D

And Apple Juice: you're command of English is far better than mine of any second language. With me, I can pick words and phrases out of conversation occasionally (depending on the accent and my mood), but it is easier if I can read it, and even then I have trouble responding clearly.

Welcome and welcome back to everyone.

Fea

EarthBound 12-22-2004 01:52 PM

A big 'How-Do' to ya, Marky! Enjoy the site. Very friendly place, from what I can tell. Having a little trouble finding the swift streams (threads) but it's a great looking site, and I visit several times a day even if I don't find a thread I can 'add' to.

Well, it's a white Christmas here in upState NY, yeah! I won't be back until after Christmas, soooo.....

MERRY CHRISTMAS!!! ;)

This gal is outahere! :p (until monday  )

Mattius 12-22-2004 02:02 PM

Thank you one and all. And Merry Christmas!!

Amanaduial the archer 12-22-2004 02:29 PM

Oh, how I love it when I construct a big, long, HTML-thumpin' ol' post, then my computer decides to shut down, thus causing me to lose it...joy.

Mattius! It's a Christmas Miracle! He returns #2! Now, what exactly can we do to stop that rebellious RPGer from running away again... Welcome back, Matt - and hey, Merry Christmas to you too!

No, no, neither do I...I've been here for two years and I still have no idea what they're talking about... No, but seriously, I know what you mean: I'm a member of a French forum, English being my first language. You get used to it. You never get used to Gil-Galad, of course, but in general... Welcome to the Downs, Apple Juice. Nice avatar, by the way.

like them very much, but in the other hand, I think they rape the book.
Woah, ok, slightly strong phrasing, sugarsweet. Welcome to the Downs, Thinlómien - hope you enjoy being here :) What's M.E.R.P? Some sort of Role Playing? 'Cos if so, now looks like a just dandy time to start plugging the RPG rooms to all you newcomers - come to the Green Dragon! Even if you've never even heard of RPGing - well, I hadn't!

Ach, why is there always a limit on the amount of smileys?! I run out so quickly! I would join you in boycotting them, Ainaserkawen, but...aww, come on - look at him, in his cute wee hat! :smokin:

Gil-Galad 12-22-2004 02:50 PM

I would probaly jsut say Merry Christmas to all teh christans here, Happy Festivus to any others who watch Seinfield, and happy holidays to everyone else!

G.G. :smokin:

P'raps ye've got a different Upstate NY than I do, but it's gotten just above freezing here, and the snow is turning icky and melty, and not particularly nice. At least there's snow! Yay for snowball fights!

Oh yeah... welcome again to uh... everyone. ;)

elronds_daughter 12-22-2004 06:06 PM

Yes, same here, Fea. Melting snow, perfect for snowball fights! Terribly foggy tonight, though.

Merry CHRISTmas everybody!!!

(exercising my free speech rights there, if you didn't notice.)

Nimrodel_9 12-28-2004 09:59 PM

Gasp! This thread is way down the list! Where are the new recruits?

elronds_daughter 12-29-2004 08:13 AM

I don't know, Nimmy.... P'raps we've scared them off...

Boromir88 12-29-2004 08:51 AM

Don'ts look at me. :: points to gil-galad :: :p

drigel 12-29-2004 08:58 AM
