6. After Túrin left Doriath, how many times did he meet Beleg, and under what circumstances?

NightKnight 08-09-2004 07:37 AM

First time when Beleg was imprisoned by Turin's comrades and they started their outlaw band, and then when Beleg saved him from the orcs and was killed. So two.

Firefoot 08-09-2004 01:18 PM

Nope.

Gil-Galad 08-09-2004 01:36 PM

Three

Firefoot 08-09-2004 02:11 PM

You didn't answer the whole question. I asked what circumstances too.

Gil-Galad 08-09-2004 03:27 PM

Beleg went to thingols command...can't remember the other two

Thorongil 08-10-2004 08:38 AM

Three. I think it was when he found Turin with the outlaws, then he met him another time on Amon Rudh and the last time at the orc camp when Turin killed him.

Firefoot 08-10-2004 03:55 PM

Yes!

Gil-Galad - 1
Morsul - 1
Lindolirian - 1
Mariska - 1
Nilpaurion - 1
Thorongil - 1

And the score is tied at one...

7. What did Túrin call his childhood friend?

Happy 2000th post to me!

Gil-Galad 08-10-2004 09:42 PM

Weren' they the Mist Elves of Mithrim? or was that Tuor...

Lindolirian 08-10-2004 10:31 PM

His nickname for Sador was Labadal, which means Hopafoot.

Firefoot 08-11-2004 06:57 AM

Gil-Galad 08-11-2004 09:07 AM

Firefoot 08-11-2004 12:47 PM

Firefoot 08-11-2004 02:54 PM

None of those.

Tulkas the Mighty 08-11-2004 04:53 PM

He was going from Nargothrond to Dor-Lomin and he passed Tuor and Voronwe and the Pools of Ivrin.

Firefoot 08-11-2004 05:17 PM

Good.

9. When did Túrin get his sword Gurthang?

Fingolfin II 08-11-2004 06:09 PM

He received it from Gwindor after his madness was washed away by Ivrin.

Firefoot 08-11-2004 07:25 PM

Gil-Galad - 1
Morsul - 1
Mariska - 1
Nilpaurion - 1
Thorongil - 1
Tulkas - 1
Fingolfin - 1

One more question; a tie seems fairly likely... ;)

10. Describe the relationship between Túrin and Saeros.

Fingolfin II 08-11-2004 08:08 PM

They didn't like each other, to say the least. Saeros disliked Turin because he grudged him Thingol's favour, and Turin hated Saeros because of his animosity towards him, and especially his words against Morwen.

Gil-Galad 08-11-2004 09:31 PM

Saeros also commented on the men of Hithlum, he said that the women ran around naked with there hair as there clothes, then he got hit by a cup...

Firefoot 08-12-2004 06:02 AM

Fingolfin's answer is fine.

That makes it a tie between Fingolfin and Lindolirian. This is a tiebreaker question for those two only.

***Exactly how long was it from the time that Morwen and Nienor fled Dor-lomin and Túrin came back?

Lindolirian 08-15-2004 04:58 PM

One year and three months.

Firefoot 08-15-2004 04:59 PM

Very good. Lindolirian, please proceed with the next topic. :)

Lindolirian 08-16-2004 10:14 AM

Ha! Well, isn't it just like me to win it with no topic in mind. Hmm... I hope I can get 10 questions out of...
Orcs

1. What color is their blood?

Thorongil 08-16-2004 10:57 AM

Black?

Lindolirian 08-16-2004 08:41 PM

Correct!

Thorongil- 1

2. Who did Morgoth send against Thingol with the purpose of kidnapping Luthien?

Firefoot 08-16-2004 09:44 PM

I think I finally found it.

A host under Captain Boldog.

Lindolirian 08-17-2004 08:53 PM

Yes!

Thorongil- 1
Firefoot- 1

3. And what was special or different about this Boldog?

Morsul the Dark 08-17-2004 10:29 PM

he was longerlived and could control lesser orcs easily
didnt find why

Lindolirian 08-19-2004 05:12 PM

Ah but that is what you must find out! :)

The Perky Ent 08-19-2004 06:24 PM

Hmm...uh...he was originally an elf of high ranking?

Morsul the Dark 08-19-2004 06:25 PM

his was Morgoth's first orc?

Lindolirian 08-19-2004 06:54 PM

Nope! Perky is almost, sorta, on the right track.

The Perky Ent 08-19-2004 07:31 PM

He was king of the orcs?

Nilpaurion Felagund 08-19-2004 08:48 PM

Join the fray!

An embodied Maia/Ainu?

Lindolirian 08-20-2004 08:53 PM

That's it Nilpaurion!

Thorongil- 1
Firefoot- 1
Nilpaurion- 1

4. What does the name snaga signify?

The Perky Ent 08-20-2004 08:56 PM

Snaga means slave, and is used to refer to lesser orcs of Isengard and Mordor. Uruks especially use the phrase!

BTW, I thought about the maia answer, but I though maia would be something bigger like Balrogs!

Lindolirian 08-23-2004 08:44 PM

Sorry for the delay...

Boldog was an orcish hróa inhabited by a corrupted Maiar. So yes, it's right, Perky.

Thorongil- 1
Firefoot- 1
Nilpaurion F - 1
Perky E- 1

5. How is that the goblins of the Misty Mts. in the Hobbit are able to recognize Orcrist and Glamdring, swords that were used in Gondolin more than six thousand years ago?
