Daniel Telcontar 07-13-2002 08:32 AM

I guess it is time for a new question:
Who helped Tuor getting to Gondolin?

obloquy 07-14-2002 12:51 PM

Voronwe.

Legolas 07-21-2002 01:52 PM

Of course...go on.

obloquy 07-29-2002 02:28 PM

Galvorn was used to make which two swords?

Daniel Telcontar 07-29-2002 02:37 PM

Are you thinking of Anglachel and Anguirel?

obloquy 07-29-2002 03:00 PM

Yerp. Go ahead.

Daniel Telcontar 07-29-2002 03:30 PM

Alright: Who was a warrior of Doriath and had in his caretake the Silmaril after Thingol's death?

Legolas 07-29-2002 04:42 PM

Hm...Mablung?

Daniel Telcontar 07-30-2002 06:16 AM

Yes, Mablung it is.

Legolas 08-01-2002 07:47 PM

How old was Earendil when the host of Morgoth came to Gondolin?

Lothiriel Silmarien 08-01-2002 09:04 PM

I think he was 5.

Legolas 08-01-2002 10:20 PM

Not quite.

Daniel Telcontar 08-02-2002 03:23 AM

I believe his age was 7.

Legolas 08-02-2002 08:29 AM

Seven is correct.

Quote:

At last, in the year when Eärendil was seven years old, Morgoth was ready, and he loosed upon Gondolin his Balrogs, and his Orcs, and his wolves; and with them came dragons of the brood of Glaurung, and they were become now many and terrible.

Daniel Telcontar 08-02-2002 03:10 PM

I will ask again, then: What jewelry of old was the most famous of old that the dwarves ever made?

Lindolirian 08-02-2002 03:44 PM

The Nauglamir.

Legolas 08-12-2002 11:38 AM

Daniel?

Lothiriel Silmarien 08-13-2002 10:55 AM

That was more than a week ago, should someone else go?

Mornie Alantie 08-13-2002 06:54 PM

Ill go,

How many ages was Melkor first locked up for?

Lindolirian 08-13-2002 09:06 PM

3

Orome 08-13-2002 09:35 PM

5. chained for 3, then released for the first age, then imprisoned for the second and third. if you count the fourth age, it makes 6

Lindolirian 08-15-2002 11:02 PM

ya but the question was first locked up for.

Orome 08-16-2002 08:28 PM

yup i missed that how long do you have to wait?

Lindolirian 08-17-2002 12:55 PM

When the asker confirms my answer as correct, then I can ask one of my one.

Orome 08-18-2002 02:46 PM

yeah what is the standard wait time though? this is a pretty good thread and i dont really want it to die like so many others have, waiting for comfirmation

Legolas 08-19-2002 01:32 PM

Lindolirian, just go ahead and proceed with the next question.

Lindolirian 08-20-2002 06:29 PM

Who taught the husband of Nerdanel the craft of making weapons?

Aranel 08-20-2002 06:45 PM

It was Mahtan.I think.

Lindolirian 08-20-2002 07:51 PM

Correct.

Aranel 08-20-2002 09:03 PM

Okay.What does Mereth Aderthad mean?

Telchar 08-21-2002 12:16 AM

'The feast of reuniting'

Anardil 08-22-2002 02:00 PM

Just a note. I don't think that it was Mahtan who taught Feanor how to make weapons. On the contrary, the Silmarillion states that "bitterly did Mahtan rue the day when he taught to the husband of Nerdanel all the lore of metalwork", which suggests that he was very unhappy about the weapons. Rather, it was Melkor who first spoke to the Elves (and Feanor) concerning weapons.

Telchar 10-23-2002 02:17 AM

Need to get this going again, so.... Who killed The White Lady of the Noldor? and how?

HerenIstarion 10-23-2002 05:29 AM

Eol did, with a poisoned dart/javelin

Telchar 10-24-2002 02:39 AM

Yeps HI - proceed, please
