ARE YOU INSANE!!! Danny DeVito would have been an absolutely awful Boromir!
What? I personally shared Thenamir's opinion there!

Danny Devito! DANNY DEVITO?! *Draws sword* Thou shalt pay!

ArathorofBarahir 04-25-2004 11:24 AM

Hey I am entitled to my opinion, and my opinion is Danny DeVito would have made a horrible Boromir.

Sean Bean was great

I think that Sean Bean was great in FOTR. One of the besty actors in it my opinion. Also I think if you look very closely at Viggo and Bean I think that Viggo is a biy lanky and a lot skinnier which would agree with the book.

Also, I think that Boromir really benefitted from his TTT EE apperances. I thought those expounded quite a bit on him, although not as much as Faramir.

I was serving the Barrow Downs when I came across this topic I was thinking, "Well who would have played Boromir if it hadn't been Sean Bean."

And someone is saying Danny Devito.

I am quite okay with peoples different opinions but him playing Boromir. I am amazed this suggestion wasn'ty made in Middle-Earth mirth!!!!!!! AAAAHHHH!!!!

If DeVito would play Boromir I would never be able to live in Peace again.

*Sigh* Okay I am better now. I just had to rant because if I started ranting allowed in the library the librarian will be all over me.

If you're talking about Thenamir, there's an awfully good chance he was joking, although you'll have to ask him to be sure.
And if you're talking about me, then I can assure you that I was only joking; you can rest in peace :D.

Um, isn't Danny Devito a bit old and fat to play Boromir? I mean they'd have to have people pulling him up onto horses with ropes and fighting would be impossible. Also he'd look like a dwarf as he is a bit short.

Sean Bean was an ok Boromir. The only reason I say that, however, is because they didn't go as in depth as I had hoped. You can only fit so much into 3 1/2 hours. But what really sparked my interest in Sean Bean was extra footage he was in concerning Faramir's flashback in the Two Towers. His work in that one scene was otherworldly or Middle-earthly....ha ha ha....oh nevermind...

Sarcasm is a lost art...

Can no one recognize good satire and whimsey anymore? Danny DeVito was a JOKE suggestion folks, nothing more.

Although I think Don Knotts might have done better as Aragorn... :D

For those of you who didn't recognize the Danny DeVito suggestion as a joke: how about casting him and his wife, Rhea Pearlman (Carla on Cheers) as the Sackville-Baggins'...now that I could see ;)

Thenamir 07-15-2004 12:38 PM

Mirabella, that's positively inspired! And you wouldn't have to have any special tricks to make him look hobbit-height...

Lathriel 07-22-2004 09:41 AM

I responded to the Danny DeVito thing and realized a little later that it could have been a joke. However than it was already to late.

Doesn't matter, it is just that sarcasm doesn't get to me very well on internet.

Ah, now you know the mystery behind my misuse of smileys (especially in the bd chat room) :D.
