Gimli and Legolas to Aragorn: Wherever You Will Go (The Calling)

THE Ka 12-17-2004 01:12 AM

getting into a "pyro" mood...

Denethor: My little shirtwaist fire by : Rasputina

My Little Shirtwaist Fire
Once it started
The frail and fainthearted
Just withered to the floor
Oh, so sadly
We examined hands burned badly
By that which no man fears more.

The terrible flames of
All that remain of
My Little Shirtwaist Fire...

Or one kind word from
One who loves them but
What I have earned is mine-

Yes, just wonderful?

~Rasputina Ka

Galadriel: (The Pizza Bagel Bites theme song)

Lembas in the morning,
Lembas in the evening,
Lembas at supper time,
When you got Lembas in the wrappings,
you can eat Lembas anytime.

Theme Songs

Istari, Istari night
Is that wizard Blue Or Grey.
GANDALF

Please allow me to introduce myself
I`m a Maia of wealth and taste
Been around for a long long age
Saw Melkor fall from grace.
SYMPATHY FOR SAURON (THE TROLLING STONES)

I fell in to a burning crack of fire
Went down down down
And the flames went higher
And it burns burns burns
The Ring of Power
The Ring of Power

Lust is a burning thing
And it made
A fiery ring
Flamed by wild desire
I fell in to a crack of fire

The taste of fish is sweet
When both of my teeth meet
But I went really wild
When I got back my Precious child.

Actually Johnny's wife June Carter-Cash wrote the song, so she was secrectly the Big Tolkien fan of the family.LOL (leave it to me the self - proclaimed "walking country music dicionary" to know stuff like that. anyway)

Aragorn -'Was I right or Wrong' - Lynyrd Skynyrd
"Like a restless leaf in the autumn breeze
Once I was a tumblin' weed
Like a rollin' stone, cold and all alone
Living for the day my train would come "

Eowyn- 'Redneck Woman' - Gretchen Wilson
"Well I ain't never been the Barbie doll type."

Aragorn to Arwen - 'When I Think About Cheatin' '- Gretchen Wilson
"When I think About cheatin' I just think about you leavin
and how my world would fall to pieces if I tossed your love away
even when I'm temped by some stranger oh there's never any danger
I just think about you leavin when I think about cheatin' "

Aragorn (again sorry lol) - Forever - Kid Rock
" Oh I'm back the fog is lifted the earth has shifted to raise the gifted
you knew I'd be back so pack your bone and hit the road Jack cause daddy's home."

Thats all for now. Toodles

Lhunardawen 12-19-2004 03:16 AM

I forgot who's sig this was...but if you know it was yours, please stand to be recognized. :)

Smeagol to Gollum - Numb (Linkin Park)
I've become so numb
I can't feel you there
Become so tired
So much more aware
I'm becoming this
All I want to do
Is be more like me
And be less like you

Evisse the Blue 12-19-2004 12:58 PM

Lhuna - this sig used to be Sleepy Ranger's. Don't know if he still has it though. :)

This one's for Feanor: Soulburn by Masterplan:

They teach him right but he knows they're wrong
He sees in silence
They tell him stop, but he wants to move on
Spread the wings to fly them

All the world is like a shining diamond,
The way it glitters if you polish it right,
And if the light should turn and leave you blinded
Take the dream and give it one more try.
Feel the soulburn,
Pathfinder...

THE Ka 12-19-2004 11:10 PM

Legolas to Aragorn:
Man I feel Like a Woman...

that's all i can think of right now...

~Pondering Ka~

Lhunardawen 12-28-2004 04:33 AM

Sorry for using the same song...but it suddenly dawned on me that another part of Linkin Park's Numb was so appropriate for Faramir.

I'm tired of being what you want me to be
Feeling so faithless, lost under the surface
I don't know what you're expecting of me
Put under the pressure of walking in your shoes

Every step that I take is another mistake to you
And every second I waste is more than I can take

Lhunardawen 01-14-2005 10:06 PM

Apologies to the lovers of the songs of Jane...

This Ring (movie Frodo)

I was so high
I only recognized the fire burning in his Eye
The chaos that controlled my mind
Whispered goodbye, Sam stepped on a stone
Never to return again
But always in my heart
... (I guess)

This Ring has talken its toll on me
I've never said goodbye to him ever before
And his heart is breaking in front of me
But I have no choice
'Cause I don't have lembas anymore

Lostgaeriel 01-18-2005 06:33 PM

Since a number of people have posted song parodies here, I thought you might enjoy this related thread: Song Parodies.

AbercrombieOfRohan 01-18-2005 07:07 PM

In accordance to what KA said Not a girl, not yet a woman, by Britney Spears might be appropriate for Legolas. Really shows his inner conflict :p

On a serious note Josh Groban's You Raise me up for Frodo and Sam.

THE Ka 01-18-2005 07:09 PM

I thought this one would be funny to 'Tolkienize'...

original song: All tomorrow's Parties by Velvet Underground

What costume shall the poor orc wear
To all tomorrow's raiding parties
A hand-me-down dress from who knows where
To all tomorrow's raiding parties

And where will he go and what shall he be
When midnight comes around
He'll turn once more to Sauron's clown
And cry behind the black gate

And what costume shall the poor orc wear
To all tomorrow's raiding parties
Why silks and linens of yesterday's gowns
To all tomorrow's raiding parties

And what will he do with Balrog's rags
When the field of Cormallen comes around
he'll turn once more to Sauron's clown
And cry behind the black gate

And what costume shall the poor orc wear
To all tomorrow's raiding parties
For Melkor's child is Sauron's clown
For whom none will go mourning
A blackened shroud, a hand-me-down gown
Of rags and silks, a costume
It's fine for one who sits and cries
For all tomorrow's raiding parties

What do you think?

~Ka~

Yes, Lenny Kravitz covered the song, but it was originally by the great 70’s (Canadian) band, The Guess Who (key members: Burton Cummings & Randy Bachman). 'American Woman' 1970 RCA/BMG by Bachman/Cummings/Peterson/Kale, UniChappel Music Inc./BMI.

Ah, well, whoever did it :D.

Maeggaladiel 01-20-2005 02:45 PM

Yeah... that song would work too, Lostgaeriel. I was thinking of a Cher song, which I now realize probably wasn't called "These Eyes." Ah well.

Denethor and Boromir: Disco Inferno (Hey, the ultimate father/son song! It works for both of them!)

Gollum- Me and my Precious ("Me and my Shadow")

Hmm... Maybe then they'll trade in hugo weaving for David Bowie...That would be awsome... Wait though! They would get rid of boromir and that no good at all... Okay, Sean stays and Ian and Bowie join forces to dispose of Hugo Weaving... Besides, he was much better in Adventures of Pricilla the Desert Queen. Such a wonderful movie.

peral 01-28-2005 09:36 PM

I dunno, this is weird, and i dont know if anyone has already suggested this

Boromir or Army of the dead - Bring me to Life (Evanescence)

peral 01-28-2005 09:42 PM

Sam to Frodo (when in the movie Frodo sends him away) - All I Ask of You (Phantom of the Opera by Andrew Lloyd Webber)

Arwen to Aragorn or vice versa (but I like Arwen to Aragorn better) - Think of Me (Phantom of the Opera by Andrew Lloyd Webber)

Eowyn about Aragorn (with Arwen "cameos") - On My Own (Les Misérables by Alain Boublil and Claude-Michél Schönberg) For those who haven't heard it, it goes a bit like:

On my own
Pretending he's beside me
All alone
I walk with him till morning
In the darkness the trees are full of starlight
And all I see is him and me forever and forever

Faramir about Eowyn - I Saw Him (her now) once (Les Misérables once again!) Again, for those who don't know the words:

I saw him/her once
Then he/she was gone
etc.

Encaitare 01-29-2005 01:40 PM

Welcome to the Downs, peral. :)

Eowyn upon first seeing Aragorn:

Well, you burst on the scene
Already a legend
The unwashed phenomenon
The original vagabond

~"Diamonds and Rust" by Joan Baez

I always thought it was rather applicable, especially the unwashed part. :p

Nilpaurion Felagund 02-18-2005 01:01 AM

Another song.

In our Deutsch class, I came across this song. With a little modification, it sounded fitting for Saruman. Hier ist es:
Bunt, bunt, bunt sind alle meine Kleider.
Bunt, bunt, bunt is alles was ich hab.
Darum lieb ich alles, was so bunt ist.
Weil meine Weisheit Torheit geworden.
(I apologise for any wrong grammar or word usage.)

Maeggaladiel 02-18-2005 01:27 PM

Saruman's wild men army- "The Fixin' to Die Rag" by Country Joe and the Fish

"Well, gather round, all you big strong men,
Saruman needs your help again,
He's got himself in a terrible jam,
Way down yonder in old Rohan!
So put down your books and bow to the One!
We're gonna have a whole lotta fun!

"And it's one, two, three,
What are we fighting for?
Don't ask me, I don't give a fuss!
Next stop is Edoras!

"And it's five, six, seven,
Open up the old black gate,
Well there ain't no time to wonder why,
WHOOPEE! We're all gonna die!"

Nirvana II 02-20-2005 01:13 PM

Denethor-Firestarter, Gene Simmons

Legolas-I'm Too Sexy

Gandalf-When I'm Sixty-Four, The Beatles

Eowyn-Been A Son, Nirvana

Kath 02-21-2005 11:13 AM

Hey Nilpaurion I just translated your little poem and it really does fit! Especially if you put in next to the picture of Saruman in bright pink robes on the Crazy Captions thread!

Nilpaurion Felagund 02-22-2005 12:08 AM

Dragostea Din tei for either Aragorn and Arwen or Aragorn and Eowyn...

It makes me laugh. :D

It's alright. A friend of mine named James and I have a fetish for Romania after buying O-Zone's album... Picaso is mentioned in it, so i'm fine with it. :)

It's even funnier when you see the music video... Now i'm imagining aragorn dancing on the wing of an airplane...

THE Ka 04-03-2005 02:00 PM

I was listening to the The Life Aquatic soundtrack and when I came across Scott Walker's 30 Century Man, I immediately thought of Gandalf...

See the dwarves and see the giants
Which one would you choose to be?
And if you can't get that together
Here's the answer, here's the key
You can freeze like a 30 Century Man
Like a 30 Century Man
I'll save my bread and take it with me
'Til a hundred years or so
Shame you won't be there to see me
Shakin' hands with Charles De Gaulle
Play it cool and Saranwrap all you can
Be a 30 Century Man
You can freeze like a 30 Century Man
Like a 30 Century Man
Like a 30 Century Man

Awsome song... :)

Evisse the Blue 04-03-2005 03:22 PM

O-zone...are these guys really everywhere?? Not my first choice of how I'd want Romania advertised to the outer world... Not my second, not my third either :D

Ok. Let's not make this completely off topic:

Theme song for the for the Ride of the Rohirrim: Valley of the Damned by Dragonforce. Especially this part:

"On the wings of death by the hands of doom
By the darkest light from the darkest moon
Crossing silent seas over mountains high
For we stand as one tonight

On the black wind forever we ride on together
Destroying your evil with freedom our guide
When the master will storm us
He'll stand high before us
Our hearts filled with splendour
Our swords will shine over the light

On the wings of life, by the hands of hope
By the brightest light from the brightest sun
Crossing silent seas over mountains high"

'Broken' by Sonata Arctica has two lines that make me think LOTR:

Fell in love with the weakness within me.
Tried to force me the Ring and own me.

This sounds just like the Ringwraiths would say to Sauron...of course in the original context of the song the meaning is totally different. :p

And the song 'My land' (also from Sonata Arctica) could well be Aragorn's theme song in his Ranger days. Take a look at the Lyrics and decide for yourself.

THE Ka 04-03-2005 04:32 PM

If anyone here is really into industrial or darkwave, they'll understand why I chose this song.

Fearless by VNV Nation, reminds me of aragorn in some way...

Here's some of the lyrics... I won't put all of them, because they repeat about five times...

So many little things followed me
So many little things that bothered me. But I found my answer.
From all the chaos that followed me I have found my answer.
I've told you before don't follow me because I am not your answer.

I am not alone, I am not afraid, I am not unhappy.
These are the words I say to myself everyday.
I am not alone, I am not afraid, I am not unhappy.
Tell me what ritual I should have today.
But I'm not alone. I've resolved so many things and set myself free.

Gollum, to the ring: Backstreet Boys (?) I want you back
"You're all I ever wanted, you're all I ever needed, now show me what to do now...'cause I, I, I, I want you back"

Eowyn: From Footloose...
"I need a hero, I'm holding out for a hero 'til the end of the night, well he's gotta be strong and he's gotta be fast and he's gotta be fresh from the fight..."

Treebeard: Dead Kennedys "Forest Fire"
"No junk foods, just earthly goods, I ate weird berries in the woods, now I'm seeing colours, I'm getting higher, I think I'll start a forest fire!!!"
(Posted in "Things they'd never say" as well, but it fit better here)

Frodo: "Bravely bold Sir Frodo rode forth from Rivendell, He was not afraid to die, oh brave Sir Frodo!"

Merry and Pippin: Schoolhouse Rock "I'm just a bill, yes I'm only a bill and I'm sittin' here on Capitol Hill" (Please don't ask why...it just came into my brain, and I apologize)

Sam: Somewhere Over the Rainbow

And I'm going to stop now, as I'd prefer not to traumatize too many people.

Lathriel 04-07-2005 05:54 PM

Gollum during his years of wandering around:Learn to be lonely (Phantom of the Opera)

Child of the wilderness
Born into emptiness
Learn to be lonely
Learn to find your way in darkness
Who will be there for you
Comfort and care for you
Learn to be lonely
Learn to be your one companion
Never dreamed out in the world
There are arms to hold you?
You've always known
Your heart was on its own
So laugh in your loneliness
Child of the wilderness
Learn to be lonely
Learn how to love life that is lived alone
Learn to be lonely
life can be lived
life can be loved
Alone.

Eowyn's plea to Aragorn

Eowyn could have karaoke'd her way into Aragorn's heart with this
Beautiful South number (slightly altered):

(Eowyn to Aragorn)

Think of you with pipe and slippers,
Think of her in bed.

Laying there all thinking Elvish
Think of me instead.

I'll never grow so old and flabby
That will never be

DON'T MARRY HER - HAVE ME !

And the summer sun shins brightly upon Rivendell,
And you realise that this idyll is a living hell.
You'll have to be all versed in Elvish etiquette,

DON'T MARRY HER - HAVE ME !

Kath 05-07-2005 05:49 AM

No idea why this popped into my head but in the Two Towers film when Arwen kisses Aragorn back to life after he falls over that cliff maybe she could sing Staying Alive - just for laughs.
