Tar-Aldarion of Romena, who has been all too absent in defence, will be replaced by Gollum, the wing back of Lothlorien, whose sneaky runs I hope will result in a goal or two.

Eöl the Dark Elf will also have to pack his bags. He will be replaced with Gothmog II of Mordor who I believe has a lot to prove, trying to live up to his more illustrious namesake. Go on, show the world you're not just some anonymous grunt!

To answer Skip's question on the other thread- because there are no backups players will never be suspended for a match.

I have corrected the tallies - there were some changes as I had forgotten to provide Helm's Deep and Lothlorien their defencive points...

Secondly I have taken away the points taken from the cards as tp thought we can't use that ruling on the first round of games as they weren't clearly introduced beforehand.

But note that from the upcoming second round of games onwards a yellow card will mean substracting one point from that player and a straight red card will mean -3 points.

It seems to me that my team needs an additional defensive force. Turgon's main strategy is to hide in the face of danger - not exactly what I need.

Yes, bad luck that round, Nog. You just have the wrong beauties playing for you. Don't trust those Taniquetil girls- they think they're too good for guys like us. You'll have better luck with the ones here in Middle Earth. :D

Galadriel and Melian have been good for points. And Aredhel, Idril, Nerdanel, and Miriel have been performing quite well.

A shame no one had The Barrow-Wight on their team. That last round was plain ridiculous. :eek:

You may be right with those western ladies... I'll think of that even if will not let go of Nienna, she will make her mark one day... I hope...

Have you tp ever told us the way the play-offs will go?

I asked that already a while ago but haven't noticed an answer... So will it go like the best of group A against the second of group H etc... or will there be a divide in the middle, like the best of group A against the second group D and the best of group E against the best of group H etc...?

That I think is a most valuable information right now as then we could predict which teams will face each other in the first round of the play-offs. And that might influence our choices...

Ah, very sorry Nogrod. I meant to answer that question once before but for some reason I wasn't able to (had to leave for an activity or something). And since then I've forgotten.

Well, I am wholly satisfied with my team as is for the first round, but I'm getting worried about round II. While Boromir I is putting up good numbers for me, his team looks to be going nowhere. So I'm dropping him and adding in the phantom. A proven leader and scorer, he and Melkor should give me a solid midfield.

Previously unknown in ME footballing circles, The Phantom is proving himself at the top level with some inventive play.

Although Durin's Bane has performed well so far I don't think he will feature in the second round. To replace him is The Witch King who I believe is an asset for any team. His black breath makes him almost impossible to man-mark and his great compoure in the penalty area means he can set up teammates as well as finishing the moves off himself.

Although my defence let me and themselves down in the last round I will keep faith in them. I chalk down Taniquetil's debacle as underestimation of the opposition. The Pelóri will not crumble a second time!

I know now what has haunted my team. It has not been true to itself.

I wawered a bit with Caranthir as Lommy noted that he's both and thence should not be shown the door. :)

Both Elrond and Elros have been astounding in goal, whereas great-great-grandmother Melian has been only passable. Armenelos ahs the more impressive-looking record thus far (taking down Tanquetil of all teams), so:

Thus far, Alqualondë has not been a particularly impressive team, and I don't give them good enough odds to survive the next match, so:

--Frodo, ++Balrog #2: even if Angband isn't first seed for its group, they're still contending.

We'll kick one of the Fëanorian twins off midfield and replace him with Ar-Adunakhor.

Isildur is out also, and we'll go with a forward off of Nargothrond:
