Mira can correct me if I'm wrong but I believe we talked about this and they are allowed to protect someone for two nights in a row but no more than that. I also think that after the village is only down to one kill a night then the Ranger can no longer protect a person more than once.

Does that sound more a little more even?

McCaber 10-26-2009 03:18 PM

A Poe theme, eh? I'm in.

I think SPM is referring to the event of a revealed seer. The ranger being able to protect a revealed seer two Nights in a row is rather unfair to the wolves, and potentially devastating for them, as last game demonstrated.

Also, the lovers- are they the lovers I've seen before, where one is a wolf and one is an innocent? Are they both innocents? Or is it completely random how they will be set (after all the roles are decided, the lovers are picked at random, allowing for any combination.) It also seems unclear- does the one lover die after the other is killed? Or do they just get their revenge killing?

I believe we decided that the ranger would only be able to protect from one killing so if the seer revealed the ranger would protect xem but then if both the bear and the wolves attacked the ranger would only be able to stop one attack and the seer would die. The ranger is allowed to protect twice in a row but no more than that. After the kills went down to one then the ranger wouldn't be able to protect someone more than once in a row.

However, if the consensus is that this is unfair then I'm sure Mira will change it.

I believe the lovers are neither innocent, nor bad. They want to win and they don't care how it happens.

Does that help?

Does that mean they don't count as innocents in the tally of innocents vs wolves?

Umm... good question. *shall wait for Mira*

satansaloser2005 10-27-2009 12:20 PM

I've always seen them counted as innocents, but I could be wrong.

Boromir88 10-27-2009 12:35 PM

Yes, I've only recalled them counted in the innocent tally, just innocents who will first do what is best for themselves, not necessarily everyone else. Like the Cobbler, who is typically counted as an innocent, but works for the wolves.

wilwarin538 10-27-2009 01:06 PM

I believe this is how it goes:
They are counted as innocents in the tally, they just don't care who wins aslong as they make it to the end, sometimes this could involve helping the village, other time it could involve helping the wolves, whatever keeps them alive. Example: if the lovers are left standing at the end with 2 wolves, both the wolves and the lovers win.

Roa_Aoife 10-27-2009 01:26 PM

Aside from Nogrod's most recent game, I've always seen the lovers as one being a wolf and the other being a villager. It's different in the card game.

Still, the rules are unclear- the surviving lover gets a revenge kill, but do they die afterwards?

Pitchwife 10-27-2009 04:15 PM

Arthur Gordon Pitch of Nantucket asking permission to come aboard, Ma'am!
This is bound to become very interesting, with the full monty of roles (except for a Cursed, but let's not over-complicate things). I won't be able to be around in the last couple of hours before DL (which is 5am for me, and I have to get some sleep), so I'll have to vote early, but if that's allright with you, I'll be fine.

Mirandir 10-27-2009 10:43 PM

Mkay I'm here, I'm here! Let's see if I can clear some things up.

Nienna is indeed correct about the ranger shenanigans. Can protect twice in a row, when it's down to one kill a night can't do that any more.

Lovers count as innocents in the tally, but then again so does the cobbler, so do with that information what you will. In some games the remaining Lover dies after getting their revenge kill, but we decided to let them keep playing for kicks.

Nienna will now review this post and tell me if I've left anything out. :p

Kath 10-28-2009 02:38 AM

Hey thanks for the invite but I don't think I'm going to be able to play. Uni life is a bit overly busy at the moment! I'd say I'd play but just be quieter but ... well, that would be difficult! :D

Lariren Shadow 10-29-2009 02:11 AM

So for reference I'm good with the deadline.

wilwarin538 10-30-2009 06:36 AM

So when are we starting??? :D

Nienna 10-31-2009 12:14 PM

Official Moddess Speaking

*signs up delinquent roommate (Brinn if anyone has missed that).*

SIGN UPS ARE NOW OFFICIALLY CLOSED.

Roles will be sent out sometime tonight or tomorrow morning.

Night One will start at 12am Monday Morning (there is a time change between now and then... so I'm sorry I can't put it in GMT). Maybe others can help us out with that... my clock says that my time is now -4 GMT but with the time change I don't know how that will effect it.

Players with question marks... you should let us know your final decision ASAP.

Thanks! :D

Thinlómien 10-31-2009 04:30 PM

I'm sorry I have to drop out -

but for once I will not let ww tamper with my rpg duties.

Have a nice game, everybody! :)

Mirandir 10-31-2009 08:50 PM

Sooo delinquent moddess is currently assigning roles. Then wants to get back to watching The Tudors and her whiskey. kthx.

You, young lady, are still on your meds. But...YAY TUDORS I APPROVE!

Mirandir 10-31-2009 09:14 PM

So here's how this went/is going down. I just stuck pieces of paper with roles on them in a hat and Nienna picked a player and I drew from said hat. Good guys will be getting a PM from her, and the bad guys will be getting one from me. Night 1 will start at midnight tomorrow (Sunday). Any questions from this point on should be addressed via PM to either Nienna or myself.

Mirandir 10-31-2009 10:01 PM

Roles are officially all out! If for some reason you didn't get one, let Nienna or myself know ASAP.

satansaloser2005 10-31-2009 10:43 PM

What happens if you get a PM from both mods? Does that mean you have an identity crisis?

(I didn't, I just couldn't help putting that out there.)

A fair warning. I'm a bit strapped for time (but I knew our dear moddesses would kill me if I didn't play) so I'll probably be rather quiet and I may get a bit cranky. Just apologizing in advance in case I get a bit snappy.:o

wilwarin538 11-01-2009 06:27 AM

Just have to say that the timing of Day 1 is completely perfect and I am now quite happy. :D

However, in advance, if I'm still alive, Day 3 will suck for me. Don't say I didn't warn you. ;)

Nienna 11-01-2009 12:01 PM

Ok so now that the time change has happened Night One will start at 12am EST which is exactly 11 hours from right now.

We (EST) are GMT -5 now.

In my Finnish-screen the time-stamp for your post is 8.01PM - so it kind of confirms my worst feelings about the DL... it will be 7AM here! So some very early voting for me this time around...

Morsul the Dark 11-03-2009 11:05 PM

Well slip up on day one but I have faith Go Village!

Mirandir 11-04-2009 11:44 PM

Morsul, I promise your death scene is coming soon! Hakon, I might end up redoing yours to make it a bit more epic. That is all.

Inziladun 11-05-2009 09:59 AM

Participation will be somewhat iffy for much of toDay due to a busy work schedule. I should be able to be around more a few hours before DL.

Pitchwife 11-05-2009 05:47 PM

Sorry, but I have to announce that I won't be able to participate at all on Day 3. My wife and me will be attending a weekend course for beginning dog breeders on Saturday and Sunday, which I'd conveniently forgotten about when I signed up for the game, and I didn't realize until today that Sat/Sun will be Day not Night:o. I'll be back alive (hopefully) and kicking on Day 4.

Mirandir 11-05-2009 09:43 PM

Unfortunately, due to personal reasons, wilwa has informed me that she will no longer be able to play. :( Her death will come when I get around to writing it.

Roa_Aoife 11-06-2009 08:35 AM

I have company visiting from out of town, so my participation, particularly tomorrow (Day 3) will be sporadic at best. Since the company is Craydon,I'm sure he'll understand if I pop in and out periodically, but that will be the best I can do.

Nogrod 11-07-2009 10:13 AM

I ended up playing this game for too late last night and overslept mightily in the morning (I got up from the bed at 2PM...). Now Greenie, Lommy and Legate are visiting and we'll have dinner soon & hang around.

So I'm not going to be around for a few hours more... but I will a bit later although not as late as yesterday as I just can't sleep that late tomorrow... :(

Sorry.

satansaloser2005 11-08-2009 02:47 PM

(Assuming I'm alive) I'll be around at Dawn toMorrow and then probably not until the end of the Day or so. Just too dern busy tomorrow, but I'll do my best.

*scurries off again to get some stuff done*

Pitchwife 11-09-2009 01:07 PM

*rises from the grave*
What a Day to miss - and what a Day to come back, or rather not come back to!
Good luck, village - I'm afraid you'll need it!
*squats on tombstone with a beer and some peanuts (being not that fond of popcorn)*

Morsul the Dark 11-09-2009 11:03 PM

I'd like to point ouSally and Mccab are still in the "Living list"

Cool! That would have been a guess (considering it's near Veteran's Day around here) but I thought it strange that the two of you would both have it, since it just popped up recently. Very nice, and kudos on the spirit. :)

Speaking of spirit, I now am one, so I should drift away again....
