Sorry, Elentari.. but I don't know what it would be called over there. It's just a drink mx powder that you put in water and add sugar... if that would help you to find and alternative. Koolaid is a brand name here.

I'm glad you like it, Only Real Estel. Welcome aboard!

Sapphire_Flame 09-12-2003 03:02 PM

I'm trying to figure out a recipe...thing for miruvor. I'll let you know when I succeed.

Just be careful with that ent-draught; you don't want to be eight feet tall once the movies are over...

Abedithon le,

Arwen Eruantale 09-12-2003 08:03 PM

Miruvor, would that be a liquor?

And I wouldn't mid being a bit taller, at 5' 1/2" I could certainly stand a bit of growth.

Someone suggested lime green Koolaid for Ent-draught in another thread.
That was me. I'm with you, Arwen Eruantale, I wouldn't mind growing a bit...

Mmmm... these ideas are making me hungry... We should have plenty of 'em by the time 2005 rolls around. Mua ha ha ha... It shall be a grand party!

Morgul Queen, that recipe sounds delicious! Thanks for that! I've used a different recipe, (posted in the Lembas thread, which has a couple different ones) but it wasn't...well it was good, but not very lembas-like. It was more like a heavy bread... I'm gonna try this one, though. It sounds tasty *yum*

(As in cookie cookies yes, not biscuit cookies...do you have biscuits?? Ahhh, this language difference thing is fascinating!)
Yes, this is sort of difficult, but I like learning about other cultures. I mean cookie cookies, as in sugar cookies

ooh good idea for the ent-draught, mmm I love kool-aid. you don't have kool-aid??? you poor child!

Elennar Starfire 09-14-2003 03:23 PM

I don't like koolaid, it makes me sick. I guess I'll have to find something else to use for ent-draught.

And we can serve Lembas as appetizers!
I dunno about that...Lembas should be the main course!

Luthien_ Tinuviel 09-14-2003 06:04 PM

As to ent-draught, the only other green drink I can think of is those nasty health drinks that are made with grass.

Arwen Eruantale 09-14-2003 08:08 PM

The Ent-Draught colour might be different after the EE TTT comes out, Elennar Starfire... So there's still hope for you.

Elentári_O_Most_Mighty_1 09-17-2003 10:13 AM

Oh yeah, I hope so...I don't fancy drinking mashed up grass for some reason...

Nah, I'm pretty certain we don't have kool-aid over here. In fact, save tea bags, I can't think of any kind of drink where you add water and sugar...ok, so tea bags aren't powder...oh never mind. Well I suppose that seeing as I have never even seen what I'm missing, I can't really miss it all that much.

But it does leave a problem of what people here and other countries are going to drink for ent-draught.

And how do you convert farenheit to celcius??? I want to know how to make lembas, or whatever recipe it was on the first page.

Yuck. You shouldn't have mentioned that.

Elentári_O_Most_Mighty_1 09-19-2003 11:20 AM

Hehehe...

Another point- sugar cookies? What the heck are they? When I say cookies (as a Brit), I mean those round thingies that are kinda firm and crunchy on the outside, and almost gooey on the inside (well not literally). They have bits stuck in them like smarties. When I say bisuits, I mean things like English tea biscuits, digestives, canary creams (I mean custard creams...ahem ), bourbons, jammy dodgers. Cookies as a rule are generally a hell of a lot bigger, and they don't necessarily have a defined shape (like a cuboid or something). Am I making any sense at all? I fear not. Oh well...

Arwen Eruantale 09-19-2003 04:22 PM

Really?! Cookies here are quite different. They are usually round and almost flat (with extremely varying sizes), most commonly with chocolate chips and nuts mixed into the dough.
But there are many different variations, like oatmeal raisin, or white chocolate-macadamia nut, or M&M,... etc.

Anyway, lets try and get back on topic, please.

Elentári_O_Most_Mighty_1 09-21-2003 04:07 AM

No hang on, that's what I meant...thank you Arwen!

Er...I'm afraid I can't think of anything to add to the topic.

So do you have biscuits like the ones we have here? (Chocolate digestives, tea biscuits- to dunk in your tea etc)

Elentári_O_Most_Mighty_1 09-23-2003 10:02 AM

Ah, come on people! You don't have biscuits? Come on, you must have!

Morgul Queen 09-23-2003 08:37 PM

Elentari...just get the site to send your password to your new E-mail, they change it back to a number/letter thing when you change E-mail, so once your back into your original account change it backto what it used to be *reads* hmmmm...I'm making less sense than usual.

I have Weta Workshop's Number so if you lot want me to get Richard Taylor and/or PJ into the Golden Ring Marathon idea, I will. I have a feeling that they'll want something to celebrate after RotK as well!

Arwen Eruantale 09-23-2003 09:19 PM

Morgul Queen, if you are absolutely serious about having that number...

CALL THEM! GET THEM ALL INTO IT!

Maybe they'll advertise it... that would be so awesome

Morgul Queen 09-24-2003 02:22 AM

Alright then

I'm going to my Grandmother's tomorrow (Its too late to ring now - they all go home at 6.00 pm so I'll post on Sunday which is when I get back.

Elentári_O_Most_Mighty_1 09-24-2003 12:16 PM

Well, Morgul Queen, like I said, my filter blocked the password, and by the time I realised it I had switched off the computer so I couldn't do the back button and do it again or whatever. So I can't get them to do that, because it's too late. Darn it man...

And yeah, man, that is amazing!!! It would be such an effective way to advertise the marathon!!!!

Finwe 09-24-2003 07:01 PM

Oh my Eru! That would be so bloody amazing!!!! I'm so excited just thinking about the fact that Peter Jackson will be in something that we've started!

Elentári_O_Most_Mighty_1 09-26-2003 01:23 PM

Hmm, don't get your hopes up too soon...come to think of it, hows the progress going?

Morgul Queen 09-28-2003 01:36 AM

Sorry people, Extended stay at my Nana's (Mum doesn't wabt to drive up to upper hutt in the rain (yay, rain)) so it'll be another two days at the most, and I would call from here but the numbers in my room and No-one can locate anything in my room 'cept for me - it's such a mess, kinda' a mini-security againg burglars, eh?!!!!!

Elentári_O_Most_Mighty_1 09-28-2003 03:49 AM

Okie dokie...

Since when was Boromir the disco king?

Elentári_O_Most_Mighty_1 09-28-2003 08:37 AM

And talking of biscuits, do you not even have Oreos? And how on earth did you understand the bit in Harry Potter about the 'canary creams'? (ie they were custard creams).

Arwen Eruantale 09-28-2003 09:52 AM

Okay, Elentari, you're gonna have to stay on topic now. Please PM somebody if you wan't to know about the foods and stuff.

Sorry guys, but I don't want the thread to be closed, and if we don't stay on topic that is exactly what is going to happen!

EDIT: Morgul Queen, I think we can definitely hold out... But don't forget!

Elentári_O_Most_Mighty_1 09-28-2003 10:46 AM

Ok...so how would we actually organise this thing? Hang on, if PJ gets involved something might be arranged (being extremely optomistic here...). But would we just be having people we know round our houses or what? That would be easiest.

Arwen Eruantale 09-28-2003 10:52 AM

For now, the plan is just to have people over... but of course (borrowing Elentari's optomism), if Mr. Jackson gets involved... *sigh* *hope*

arianrod 09-28-2003 01:56 PM

Yea, hold a LotR bash at your house I guess. Invite friends, enemies, cousins, distant family members, people you see on the street; y'know, only your closest relations. At least, that's what I'm doing...

Arwen Eruantale 10-06-2003 11:20 AM

Um, Morgul Queen, whatever happened with the Weta guys? Were you able to get ahold of them at all?

Enorëiel 10-06-2003 09:04 PM

Hmm... The first page of this thread made sense and I got lost somewhere in the second page... Anyways! I'm going to go back on subject (the rest of you can stay off if you wish) sound ok? I'm defintly doing something on October 20, 2005. I'll be out of high school by then (yay!) so i'll hopefully have the day of of classes (depending on what i take in college and such) and will be doing a definate all day marathon with Lembas (if i can figure out how to make it), Ent draught and the works....

Now that i've said my peace....
continue on with your conversation !

Morgul Queen 10-07-2003 02:23 AM

Ok sorry. First, I just enrolled for a 4 week course at Victoria University in Wellington, so I'm busy with that, and college just started again, so theres that as well.

Second, Richard Taylor is my lecturer in week 4 so I'll talk to him *personally* which will most likely give us a better chance of getting through to him.

sorry about the wait, and I was wondering...is anyone here going to Return of the Ringers? Because, depending on the circumstances, I may be going.

Elentári_O_Most_Mighty_1 10-07-2003 12:15 PM

What is return of the ringers?

Aww Morgul Queen, you're so lucky!!!

Tell me about it.. I started this thread and even I get lost!

In any case, I'd like to welcome you aboard, Enorëiel! Help us spread the word!

Morgul Queen 10-08-2003 04:42 AM

Return of the Ringers is a Pre-premiere party hosted by TOR.net in wellington. Depending on the circumstances, I may or may not be going.

Morgul Queen 10-21-2003 11:22 PM

OK here we go, I'll get back to you in about 4 hours with the results of our little chat

Morgul Queen 10-22-2003 09:58 PM

WOOO HOOO!!! (C Celeborn),

Richard Taylor said that "It would be highly unlikely that they wouldn't be interested" and that they would consider using their cinema in Mirimar to host a screening of all three movies, one after the other, how cool is THIS!!!!?

So we may have a entire day to our crazy Tolkienite selves. I just have to keep in touch with WETA and keep them updated on anything new that we want to do, and yeah....

Sooooo...Any ideas people?!!!

Arwen Eruantale 10-23-2003 09:47 AM

WOOOO HOOOOOOOOOO!!!

Thank you soooo much, Morgul Queen! You are awesome...

Just be sure to keep in touch with them for the next few years.. Which I don't imagine would be too unpleasant.

Now, to come up with some official ideas...

elfearz1 10-23-2003 06:16 PM

YAY! Thanks Morgul Queen!!! you rule

Helín Anyára 10-24-2003 02:16 PM

Can I ask a question? What are we talking about here? I take it the whole Golden Ring Marathon brainstorming kinda ran out of... storm And could Morgul Queen explain a little of what she is referring to?

As to the actual *Marathon*, I'm definitely "in". At least I hope I'll be able...

Arwen Eruantale 10-24-2003 04:29 PM

Le abdollen. You've been away too long, M'lady.
Just read from the beginning of this page and you should be able to catch up.

Then you'll understand why everything has been on hold for a bit. And you'll probably have a few thanks of your own to add to Morgul Queen's newly aquired list!

ArathorofBarahir 11-02-2003 01:57 PM

Sweet! I can't wait until October 20th 2005!!!
