Re: A Silmarillion question

Second time lucky.

There are acouple of quotes in Sil. which indicate this. One about his realm being the largest by far, and one that states that he brought more treasure from Valinor than anyone else.

Your question.

What was the first word Nienor, Túrin´s sister, ever spoke after being enchanted by Glaurung (when still being enchanted, not after having woken up) ?

Re: Staying with the Narn i hin Húrin...

Well, when he was enthroned, he took the Quenya name Tar-Palantir just like his ancestors before they broke with the Elves. He regretted their behaviour and wanted to renew the friendship with the Elves.
But if you´re asking why he chose the name &quot; He who looks afar&quot;, I can only guess: he made the prophecy that when the newly planted White Tree will be hewn, the line of Númenorean kings would perish also; maybe this makes him a farseer, at least he was a clairvoyant.

Bring the following names into the correct order (if you know them, it will be obvious which order):

Tuilére, Mettare, Yestare, Loénde, Yáviére.

(I guess this is food for our Chief Wight <img src=wink.gif ALT=";)"> )

Yup.
Yestare, the first day of the year in the Steward Calendar, Tuilére, the spring-holiday, between 3rd and 4th month, Loénde, Midsummer, between 6th and 7th, Yáviere (9th &amp; 10th), and finally Mettare, on the last day of the year.

None may speak save the King only. Three times each year the King spoke, Erukyerme, Erulaitale, and Eruhantale. When people would ascend to the summit three eagles would fly in and land on three rocks, but during the times of the Three Prayers they would circle orerhead.

The Ban of the Valar was that it was forbidden for Men to set foot on the Undying Lands. The Mouth of Sauron was present at the Black Gate when Aragorn and Co. called for Sauron to come to battle. So the Mouth didn't have anything to do with the breaking of the Ban.

Try again.
