Re: A question about Merry

To be honest i dont know the right answer cause all i read about was "the two doors of the gate" , "the gate" and "the door of the gate" ...
i would say the black gate had MANY doors LOL

Re: Another Sam question...

I have to apologize. I said that the answer 'one' was incorrect.

burrahobbit is correct....There was one iron gate that had three vast doors (all part of the one gate). When I asked the question I was considering each of the 3 doors as a gate.

WTG burrahobbit ... I learned something myself on this one.

Ask a new Q, burrahobbit.

Re: Another Sam question...

There were a couple Finduilases in the history of Middle-Earth. The first was a tragic elf princess from the time of Tśrin. The other was the mother of Boromir and Faramir.

Re: What was Theoden's Bane

Ah, Snowmane. That is a much better answer than Grima. I had completly forgotten the horse.

Re: What was Theoden's Bane

You are correct. They dug a grave for the horse and laid a stone on it with the carving:

Faithful servant yet master's bane,
Lightfoot's foal, swift Snowmane

Your turn!

Re: New Question

I'd just like to ask a suplementary question real quick.
Why was Bilbo's gift of spoons so poignant?

Re: New Question

When Bilbo was away on his trip in The Hobbit the other Shire-folk thought he had gone off and died. When he came back his things were being auctioned off, and Lobelia had already bought/stolen a fair amount of his spoons.

Back to Sam...

Until leaving Lothlorien, what will Sam want if he hasn't got it?

Re: Back to Sam...

Yeah .... Bilbo figured she had some of the spoons already. Might as well give her the rest

Sam wanted rope ....and got it ... and then forgot it for a while...heh.

Re: Back to Sam...

The rope was elven ... but I don't know about magic (though it certainly was useful).

I'll ask another question ... but I'm going to start a new thread.....this one is getting sooooo long.
