I'm not sure of your train of thought; you may not be miles away but rather pretty close. But I was not thinking of Legolas.

I can't get Taimar's answer out of my mind. This seems for Legolas in some ways and in some ways not. He was in the rear of the 'Grey Company', and the Dead followed. But I don't know why Legolas would have ever suggested a terror of the sea (for that is what this seems to refer to). Perhaps it means 'death'...but again, Legolas has no fear of the Dead or death.

Perhaps someone else can elaborate further and we can solve this before the Galspter returns.

Re: your answer

Elladan to Elrond, speaking of the Dead of the Paths and how he did not fear the Death of Men.... Elladan stayed in Middle-Earth and, having not gone with his father to Aman, may have chosen the same path as his sister , Arwen - mortality. Elrohir probably did the same.

Correct! There were many Dwarves at this occasion but it was Balin that strode forward first to find what had happened to Bilbo.

I think it's Pippin. He married Diamond of Long Cleeves, who was a real gem and, if I'm not mistaken, the Long Cleeves were descended from Bullroarer.

Yes Kittle, gem was supposed to be the real clue in that one. And you are correct, she was a descendent of the BR; most of his descendents lived in Long Cleeve. (But I'm pretty sure that Long Cleeve was a place, not a family. Though I don't remember why that was supposed to be nor do I remember where I read it. Does anybody else remember? But I think her family was called the North-Tooks.) Anyhow, ask us!
