No, no, and no.

Make educated guesses at least people.

Eressië Ailin 04-17-2003 09:43 PM

I have found it!!!

It was Thingol to Mablung in Unfinished Tales. But I thought that these were only supposed to be quotes from LoTR... Oh well. This makes it more interesting.

Beren87 04-18-2003 03:48 PM

Correct you are!

Nope, that's why it's a valid quote game. These are supposed to be the hardest quotes, so I'm going to pick the hardest quotes.

Airehiriel 04-28-2003 12:15 PM

Eressië Ailin, it's your turn.

Eressië Ailin 04-29-2003 06:08 PM

Sorry!!!! I forgot about this thread!!!! Anyways, here's the next quote:

Quote:

So might a child threaten a mail-clad knight with a bow of string and green willow!

Estanesse 04-29-2003 06:15 PM

Imrahil Talking about the strength of Gondor comparing with the strength of Mordor

Eressië Ailin 04-29-2003 06:22 PM

That was fast... And I thought I had a hard one! Go ahead, Estanesse!

Estanesse 04-29-2003 06:36 PM

~Menelien

Estanesse 05-11-2003 01:00 PM

Sorry, I’m not going to give a hint yet , because nobody has even try to find this quote.

Gil-Galad 05-15-2003 03:07 PM

When all of the free peoples are ready for an assault on Morgoth and Fingon says that to Hurin?

Estanesse 05-15-2003 03:16 PM

No, sorry. It is not a Silmarillion quote

GaladrieloftheOlden 05-15-2003 03:38 PM

Is this from anywhere in LotR, if you could tell us?

That’s correct. It’s your turn,

gilraën 06-03-2003 11:55 AM

Gandalf talking about his fight with the Balrog?

gilraën 06-03-2003 12:29 PM

No, sorry. Hint - it's not dialogue.

gilraën 06-03-2003 12:35 PM

Forgive me I got carried away, of course it should be dialogue. I'll repost a proper 'quote'. It's been a long day and I logged in with out having my tea.

Quote:

'They are lost.'

Beren87 06-20-2003 03:17 PM

Morwen to Hurin.

gilraën 06-20-2003 04:29 PM

Correct

Beren87 06-21-2003 01:41 PM

Quote:

Elentári 07-01-2003 01:22 AM

Galadriel? or was it Celeborn i was thinking of...

Beren87 07-05-2003 12:58 PM

Nope, not really even close.

Gwaihir the Windlord 07-06-2003 07:28 AM

Aerin, who was forced by Brodda the Easterling to marry him in Hithlum. She said this after Hopafoot's death (damn I can't remember his real name but you'll know who I mean), as he had said something else which I can't remember regarding something very important. Hmm I hope that was precise enough?

Beren87 07-06-2003 02:07 PM

That was quite possibly correct, and therefor it might be your turn.

Gwaihir the Windlord 07-08-2003 03:03 AM

Right.

Quote:

'There's not a trace left, I say.'

gilraën 07-11-2003 05:23 PM

I think this is it.

Quote:

Hardly twenty paces from where the hobbits lurked the small orc stopped. 'Nar!' it snarled. 'I'm going home.' It pointed across the valley to the orc-hold. 'No good wearing my nose out on stones any more. There's not a trace left, I say. I've lost the scent through giving way to you. It went up into the hills, not along the valley, I tell you.'

Gwaihir the Windlord 07-13-2003 03:25 AM

Very good, ask away.

gilraën 07-13-2003 06:35 AM

Thanks

'Twas Gelmir to Turgon, in UT. Gelmir was basically telling him to follow Ulmo's wishes and get his butt to King Turgon.

I believe I can resurrect this thread and I'm curious if it will live up to tis name
Quote:

"Indeed I should have done so, if I had known where to find you."

Mariska Greenleaf 09-09-2003 01:57 AM

Gloin is talking to Gandalf about what Thorin said.

Evisse the Blue 09-09-2003 03:08 PM

Thorin had actually said this to Gandalf - in one of the appendix. You're correct either way, so it's your turn now.
