Olorin 06-30-2003 03:38 PM

This is the only place I post. However, if I were to post elsewhere, I would keep the same name. I like the way it sounds and it's easy to remember.

Tigerlily Gamgee 06-30-2003 08:39 PM

I am known as Tigerlily Gamgee here, Bit of Earth, and as the administrator for the Chicago Line Party.
I am known as Psyknife on all non-lotr boards.
I am known as Morgolwen at Diaryland.

Triple identity!

peonydeepdelver 07-03-2003 12:02 PM

Here: peonydeepdelver

Everywhere Else: fighead

Joy 07-04-2003 02:57 PM

I use Joy here, but that was a mistake. I wanted KingdomWarrior.

I use KingdomWarrior or Kingdom Warrior most everywhere.

One one board I had KingdomWarrior, but when they needed me as a Race Leader of the Orcs, I became Sauron.

And on one other KingdomWarrior was taken (I signed up a long time before and never validated), so I used my Elvish name Ainu Alassë.

Cúdae 07-04-2003 02:59 PM

This is fascinating, finding out names others go by. Actually, it's a little strange, because I recognize some of the names from various places.

Anyway, two new names to add to my list- Phi (one "h" of a lot better than pi!) in a blog thingy and Caranthir in chats now (not the BD one, because most people know me as the same name I use here). Hehe.

Anyway, I still think learning the other names people go by is fun.

BethoHOG 07-06-2003 03:03 PM

I use BethoHOG everywhere. Easy to remember.

Elvish Assassin 10-23-2003 08:29 PM

Here: Elvish Assassin
Fantasy vault: Elvish Assassin

So far that's all I have

Tinuviel of Denton 10-24-2003 02:24 AM

I still have "Tinuviel" in most of my screen names, but lately I've started to use "Akedhi" which is the name of a character in one of the stories I hope to someday finish. Maybe someday you'll see it on FictionPress.

Alter Aeon: Akedhi or Ranya, depending on who I'm playing with
Everywhere but the places I listed in my post on the first page: Akedhi

And in case you're wondering, no, Akedhi doesn't mean anything. Nor does Ranya.

Orofaniel 11-05-2003 05:10 AM

Actually I only use this one name; Orofaniel, on all forums, sites or whatever...But you may see me with a ^ over the "a". Like this; Orofâniel.

On the chat however, I use to call myself Oro, but I also use Orofaniel.

Oro is just a "nickname" for my nickname...see?

I'm a member of a few forums so if you see a person named "Orofaniel", (with or without the ^) that would be me...(If no one has stolen my precious name....which I doubt... )

Thenamir 11-05-2003 10:20 AM

The great thing about a nick you make up out of the blue is that you can do a Google search for your nick and not get overwhelmed by false hits. There seems to be only one other reference to the name "Thenamir", and it is in a DungeonMaster's guide to a fantasy world known as Lhomarr. Other than that, I own the name Thenamir(tm) in all realms of the Web, and it is the only name I currently use.

Some years ago, I used to use the name "Razorwire" for online gaming, but have since abandoned it.

I sure didn't have that in mind when I selected 'the phantom'. When I searched for my name in google I got about 3 million results (and I'm surprised it wasn't more than that).

But oh well, I like it anyway.

Lindril Arvilya 11-05-2003 12:06 PM

Okay... of all the things to ask! Double identity? Just wait!

Oddwen 11-05-2003 04:59 PM

New websites that I'm on:

Ringbearer.org: Night_under_Night

Terrybrooks.com: PFRfan, though I haven't posted yet.

BD chat: FuzzyPickle

Ringbearer chat: FallingPFR

Yavanna228 11-05-2003 09:27 PM

Oooh, a PFR fan, are you, Oddwen?
To be more on topic, since my name isn't incredibly original, I can find it quite a bit online. Or at least the 'Yavanna' part.
Peace

Sleeping Beauty 11-06-2003 07:54 PM

Hmm....let's see

BD: SleepingBeauty
AIM: xfilesprodigy, though I have names I use for RPG's. (My fave being imtheringbearer)
LiveJournal: SuperFireChild
Fanfiction: Fire Child

Glad to see there are Megatokyo and Penny Arcade fans......

Ainaserkewen 11-07-2003 10:42 AM

Heh heh, I recently found a community site I liked...www.elftown.com(not entirely Tolkien related, but a least a thousand people or so are interested in descussion) Anyway, there I am Lomlinwen, to tell you the truth, I've grown tired of my overly long elvish botanical name(just kidding, it's not botanical), I barely know what it means and nobody can say it, so I made Lomlinwen for myself...Maiden of the holy musical echo...I love it. Also, on fanfiction.net, I'm also Ainaserkewen

vanwalossien 11-07-2003 12:20 PM

I can pronounce Ainaserkewen

I recently joined Alk's wonderful Bree forum, still using the name Hiriel.

Finwe 11-09-2003 10:54 AM

I know most of you are going to kick me for this, but I'm Kane_Eldan on an absolutely wonderful Harry Potter forum called Godric's Hollow.

(Yes, I'm a living example that it is possible to be equally obsessed with Harry Potter and Lord of the Rings, without arguing with yourself like Gollum).

Imladris 11-20-2003 04:42 PM

I recently joined a new forum (Anenga) and am known as Æros. I didn't want to be "Imladris" here but "Elwing" but some little whippersnapper already had it.

Firondoiel 11-26-2003 07:53 PM

I am Luthien Tinuviel at my own site but I am Firondoiel everywhere else.

mark12_30 12-19-2003 01:23 PM

The nicks I'll admit to:
mark12_30, Daffodil Furrow, bolcotook. The second came from the third which came from my first book...

Kalimac 12-23-2003 08:37 PM

This is the only Tolkien site I post at, however I'm either Kalimac or Kalimac_Brandagamba at all other non-Tolkien boards except for Pemberley, the Jane Austen board, which doesn't like obvious aliases; there I'm Mary Joanna, though I only post about once every one or two weeks.

Much as I like my name, it isn't all that unusual. There are a lot of other people using the Kalimac handle at various Tolkien boards, not sure how many people it is exactly. It's rather odd to see Kalimac responding on a Tolkien ezboard and think "I didn't write that...", actually .

Rasputin 12-24-2003 03:15 PM

generally im michael8338,burter8337,burter,michael

Thulorongil 12-24-2003 03:29 PM

Most everywhere I'm either Thulorongil or Sulorongil (they mean the same thing), or for short, Thúle and Súle. Of course, to Arcuwen I'm the Opinionator, Queen of the UNGG and to Kaje I'm da Vanima--oh well. But I do love to confuse teachers and anyone else who is to read my name with either my sloppy handwriting or my elven alter-ego.
