Yes,

I would also say 20 years old.

Here's another mind breaker:

What was the new title of the sword that was broken and reforged. (Elvisch and Westron one)?

Not to hard now is it?

Right...
How did Frodo's parents die and what were their names?

eleanor_niphredil 01-29-2003 01:08 AM

Drogo baggins and Primula Brandybuck. They died in a boating accident.

Galenfea of Mirkwood. 02-09-2003 11:58 AM

I'll ask another...
How many heads did each of the 2 watchers have?

dragoneyes 02-09-2003 01:08 PM

Watchers?

Helkahothion 02-09-2003 01:23 PM

Dear Galenfea,

Annunfuiniel 02-10-2003 10:23 AM

I'll take a wild guess and say 10. Wonder also with the others what those watchers of yours are (the towers perhaps??)...

yes, sorry, everyone!

Goldberry 02-21-2003 12:59 PM

ok i'm pretty sure . . . . is it 3 heads each?

Skippy the Nazgul 02-21-2003 02:12 PM

Why doesn't the council of Elrond give Tom Bombadil the ring?

What is the name of the dragon from the fireworks show?

That's all I can think of.

Your pal,
Skip

Helkahothion 02-21-2003 02:18 PM

Tom would treat the ring without much care. And even he could not resist the power of Sauron.

The other one I do not know. Smaug maybe?

well done, Goldberry, it is indeed three!
I also think that the dragon is Smaug.

Goldberry 02-21-2003 04:48 PM

yay! do I ask a question now or is this an "anybody can ask a question whenever they want" thread?

I have no idea about the dragon . . .

Nianna Telmnar 02-21-2003 05:36 PM

They didn't think he'd fall to Sauron's power they just figured he'd forget about his mission and maybe lose the ring.

eleanor_niphredil 02-22-2003 02:58 AM

The dragon is smaug because that is what the firework was, a tribute to Bilbo's adventures.

Helkahothion 02-24-2003 01:11 PM

I just found out. The guards have 6 head and six bodies.

Next question: Who made the famely tree of Dwarfen kings for King Ellesar. Tip: It is stated in the Appendixes.

Greetings,

Anuion

No, I'm pretty sure that they do have 3 heads each. At first I was confused because I have a Tolkien encyclopedia and it said 6 heads (that's why I originally said 6 heads) but I didn't think that was right and I checked in the RotK (the direct source! ) Maybe you found it in the same place I did. My encyclopedia has a few mistakes in it that I have found, though. Here is what the RotK says:
Quote:

They were like great figures seated upon thrones. Each had three joined bodies, and three heads facing outward, and inward, and across the gateway. The heads had vulture-faces, and on their great knees were laid clawlike hands.
Gimli made the family tree for King Elessar, I think.

2) What does Sam realize that he has forgotten to pack?

Horse-Maiden of the Shire 03-03-2003 05:28 PM

Goldberry 03-03-2003 05:35 PM

Yup, you got #2, Horse-Maiden!

dragoneyes 03-03-2003 05:37 PM

2) Rope, as has already been mentioned.

Goldberry 03-03-2003 05:40 PM

Yup.

Goldberry 03-03-2003 05:51 PM

dragoneyes 03-03-2003 06:05 PM

Well done, your turn.

Goldberry 03-03-2003 06:37 PM
