I like, Maika. And I am already a part of Corsairs and Corsets.

Sorry, Maika, I don't have the time. (You have Rich Old Uncles? Lucky)
Zel Ladrona calls me a walking Middle-Earth encyclopedia. I wonder why... |
Ohhh yeah, sounds like way too much fun. We'd probably end up getting arrested for disturbing the peace, though.

In addition to being an lotr freak, I'm just "weird"

i never thought of the stuff my friends call me... but the one i fancy, in which i dont know why, is an obsessed tolkein fan...
|
I asked a friend today what she called LotR fanatics.
She replied: "A load of screaming benders with no more right to live on God's clean earth than a weasel." After I threw a wobbler she spent about 1/2 an hour telling me that she was only joking and said: "People like you" [ June 23, 2003: Message edited by: Galenfea of Mirkwood. ] |

Every one at my school calls us freaks!
|
Am I the only person who's been called a Lordie? I like middle-earthlings too. And pretty much all the others.
as for the wave t-shirs, great idea!! I would come if I could, and bring lots of lembas! |
Yes, good idea. "Lordie"? That sounds pretty cool!

It really really makes me sad to think that people get called stuff because of what they like.. (i know ive said this before) but it really does, and i dont know if im just lucky or what, but i can honustly say, ive never been called a freak, or anything like that, even ringers or whatever.
Its a total lack of personal tolerance i think, and its in the same league as hating someone because of their race or sexuality, its wrong and it makes me very angry. I think i am very lucky to have grown up in a country which people just dont care what goes on. And if it really is getting you down, just think... There are places where no one cares whether you like Tolkien or not... (you just have to follow the State of Origin...lol, (not really)) |
Everdawn, I wear my label of freak with pride. (But it's cool that you don't get made fun of that way. Kudos to you [not being sarcastic, btw])
|
Yeah, me too. I use to have a t-shirt that said "freak" across the front, but I lost it somewhere.
At my school, the group of so called "freaks" are bigger than the preppies, so we pick on them. He he. Life is good. |
I'm usualy called, and I quote "that-elf-obsessed-girl-from-middle-earth" . I've coached them well, good grasshoppers! On another note, Firondoiel and I have been talking about making t-shirts that say "I'm Dead on the Downs" which, now that I think about it, sounds a little suicidal.... How about we stick to the classic, "Do the Wave for Boromir the Disco King!". I honestly will make and wear some of your ideas by the way! Dead Ringer sounds good to me, so does Loter, although not very many people would be able to figure it out. Ringie is what I hear most often, and Tolkienite. I sort of like the latter.... Ideas anyone?
|
I haven't ever been called anything - perhaps because nobody around cares. But I really love 'Ringies' Wearing 5 to 7 rings on my fingers - what else could I be called.
I've got a T-shirt made with faces from the movie (stole someone's avatar!) My husband hasn't seen it yet. When he does, I'll report what he'll say (if only the site rules will allow his exact words ) |
well..my friends dont call me anything, unless you can count "yeah , sure thats nice, can we talk about something else now?" a name.
But i do sort of like "Gandalf Groupies".... |
I sometimes got called Dwarf boy in a phase where I adopted the dwarvish sounding name Derin son of Drerin. I also get called elf boy, despite the fact Im a dwarf
I have written "please call me Apaire" (my elvish name) on one of my exercise books. I know I created this thread, but it seems rather pointless now, and alot of whats being said is just repeated, so Im gonna ask BW to close it. Hope nobody cares, but it wasnt really a masterpiece in the first place, eh? P.s. Tolkienites is the best. [ July 07, 2003: Message edited by: the guy who be short ] |
