I've been pretty lucky all the (four) times I've been to see LOTR:FOTR....
No phones went off
People weren't being noisy
The most annoying thing that happened was when I saw it for the fourth time (3 days ago) and people were getting up at the end JUST as the trailer for TTT was coming on!!! I was "whispering" (very loudly) 'sit down for gods sake!!!!!!!!!!!!' I was practically hyperventilating in that trailer, lol!
Though, the whole cinema could have collapsed around me when i saw it for the first time - it was a HOLY EXPERIENCE. I stayed for the music and just broke down crying with the emotion of the whole thing...
People were looking at me bizzarrly..
[ April 23, 2002: Message edited by: Menewilwarin of Mirkwood ]

i usually go during the week to the earliest matinee (shamefacedly admits to having seen it 11 times now) - most of the people there are one's i'm starting to recognize as a devoted movie fan group. we all mouth the dialog, but silently, and we still cheer when things go right, and gasp when evil things happen.
