Randon Titles DO make good pets....

Aha! A new insight to my *favorite* Lalwendė:

You like me, have a special love for cats. In your house there reigns two felines. One, I'm not sure the name, is quite fluffy and a creme color, and loves Fancy Feast. You'll usually catch her resting majestically on her pillow...I'm mean her throne. Your other cat is quite the opposite. He's the short-hared rascal that's always moving. If one is fast enough to catch a glimpse of him, they'll see grey tabby fur and gold eyes.

Okay, now that's scary, I've just described a person's pet in detail. GASP!

Neurion 01-24-2005 10:34 PM

Hmm. For some reason, I keep thinking of the collective lot of you in Middle-Earth terms.

Will elaborate later.

That's scarily accurate! And the other one is fluffy! You must have seen a picture of me and spotted all the cat hair and thence deduced the nature of the wee felines! If I was more Elven then I might be able to pass off the cat hair as something magical but alas it gets everywhere and I just look like an old mad scruffy Hobbit :(

Ah, they have no knowledge of rats or mice or birds, being indoor animals, but they have a keen taste for the culinary delights of spider sushi. ;)

Well...actually I haven't seen a picture of you. Basically, I figured that someone of your essence would have to have cats like that.

Same here with my cat, except she is an outdoor type, but is too lazy to hunt birds or mice. (Though she has caught one in recent months.) Usually she'll settle for the cat food, cookies (preferably snickerdoodle), bugs, or on a ocasion a garter snake. (She refuses to eat em, and just leaves them as a gift.) I wonder how she would have faired against the likes of Shelob?

Poor children of Arachne!

I really don't have much room to speak though, my cats also consume this delicacy... But, I do have to go in favor of the spiders. They are a great help when keeping the flies at bay.

Speaknig of indoors, do your cats like sow bugs? Either that or mine are wierd...

I must say that I have always imagined Eomer of the Rohirrim as a man of about 8ft tall with the build to match. Muscles course in his tree trunk arms and when he speaks the mountains tremble.
His hair is a golden mane which glows in the sun and his majestic beard reaches past his huge pectoral muscles.
Perhaps.

Hmm... You've inspired some lyrics...(That do sum up this little fanfare of guessing. It almost seems like a victorian party of sorts. Nieve with just a bit of realization to keep everyone's mind racing...)

But I saw it coming, flying through the air.
Feathered backside humming. Miss me, hit me where?
Where it will only hurt me, not a mortal wound.
Leave me lying dirty, someone would find me soon.

If you really read it, you'll understand what we're all doing...

Ah! I just so love dark humour!

I DO HAVE BROWN EYES!!! (They turn kinda greenish in the mornings) as for the hair, I might brown hair, that is if I stopped dying it. Which, of course most likely won't happen any time soon. Though your guess is a bit on the tall side. Hyperactive? Well...I am on occasion.

Encaitare I see as Arwen. But kinda a mix between movie Arwen and my image of book Arwen. Obloguy I see as 5'8" with dark black hair and dark eyes the rest of my mental image of him is usually shrowded in shadow. Pretty much everyone else I see as their avatars (The Saucepan Man I still see as his old avatar).

Nurumaiel 01-27-2005 09:41 PM

A few more images came to mind today while I was gazing out the window...

Primrose Bolger is always in my mind as a hobbit lass... but not quite so short. She has shoulder-length, curly, gingery brown hair, and laughing brown eyes. She's also a bit of a motherly type; that is to say, she's absolutely wonderful with children, and they adore her. But despite her hobbitishness, she has some elven blood in her, too. Perhaps that accounts for the fact that she isn't so short and stout as a hobbit. When she's not cooking and in general busying her hands with helping others, she's wandering in the cool grass under the trees.

Mithalwen is tall, slender, and dark-haired. Her skin is white, but not pale. 'Princess-fair skin,' as some little friends of mine call it. Her black hair falls down to her waist in waves and ripples. She carries herself with a queenly air, graceful and light on her feet. Her eyes are a deep dark brown, and while not very warm and mild, certainly not cool and aloof... more of a nice in between... as if she were a woman with dignity as well as friendliness.

Nowadays Fordim alternates between being Hearpwine and a little puppy with Indiana Jones' hat on...

Encaitare is a regal, slightly old-fashioned young woman... old-fashioned in the sense that she doesn't care what people think about the fact that she wears a corset (admittedly this impression was received from your avatar), though she's slim enough without it... she wears it merely to wear it. She clads herself in lovely evening gowns, and is in general a maid of twilight. And somewhere in the deep depths of my mind is the urging to say that she also plays a tin whistle... haunting, moonlight-y tunes.

Lyta Underhill is much akin to the Frodo that appears in her avatars. Dark shoulder-length hair, in curls; blue eyes (though I wouldn't say quite so big as young Master Wood's); hobbit breeches, shirt, waistcoat, and overcoat; a Ring about her neck and trusty old Sting at her side!

The Ka always gives me the impression of a dark girl... dark hair, dark eyes, dark clothes, and more akin to midnight than noon.

Encaitare 01-27-2005 10:27 PM

Quote:

Encaitare I see as Arwen.
Hmmm... not quite. I'm pale and like to wear fancy dresses, though, so maybe a little. :p

Nurumaiel, that's pretty accurate! I'm not sure that I'm regal, but I wouldn't mind it. Heh heh, I do enjoy corsets, just for the look. Not the scarily tight kinds, but anything that can give me the right Renaissance-y sort of look. Or just a shirt with laces up the front.

Hmmm... Nuru, I think, is tallish with dark, wavy hair and greyish eyes. She may wear glasses for when she's reading. She is musically inclined, and quite possibly plays the piano.

Oh, why thank you! Don't flatter me though, I don't want to seem too special.

I do love the midnight hour. I also like to partake in night strolls. I'll admitt it's not the most safe thing to do but, it is enjoyable.

Why does 'noon' come in??? I'm curious...

Although, out of all of you, Encaitare is the closest so far.

I love this game...

Imladris 01-28-2005 12:58 AM

Nurumaiel has shifted in my mind's eye as I have learned more about her. The current image of her, is a slight maiden, with pale brown hair and slender limbs. She strikes me as a lover of twilight, and one who eagerly seeks after fairy things. I would not be surprised if she is often found surrounded by books, with kittens frolicking before a fire.

Nuranar 01-28-2005 08:25 AM

I usually think in terms of words, instead of pictures - but here's a few that my subconscious has made up its mind about. :)

I see Imladris as a quiet girl, quiet because she's shy, standing about 5'5". Her hair is dark, chocolatey brown, straight and glossy, and falls to her shoulders. Her eyes are hazel, with flecks of sparkly green. She doesn't say much with words, because she's shy, but her eyes do the talking for her - they flash and dance with the ever-varying tenor of her thoughts. She reminds me, for some reason, of this quote: "Scarlett O'Hara was not beautiful, but men seldom realized it when caught by her charm." Imladris is not Barbie-doll pretty, but she's far more interesting - there's a definite elusive attractiveness, something mysteriously enticing, about her.

Nurumaiel has soft brown hair that she sometimes curls and sometimes straightens, on her whimsy. Her brown eyes are quick and expressive, although sometimes she veils them with her long dark eyelashes. Her complexion is very fair - she doesn't tan at all - but not colorless, because of the slight rose tint of her cheeks. She is tall, about 5'8", and slim and willowy - "exquisitely proportioned," as a favorite author of us both has written about another very beautiful lady.

Morai, how long have you dyed your hair? It couldn't be for the same reason I dye mine! ;) Now I see you as looking like Carrie Fisher! Except with pink hair, for some reason...now THAT's an oddity!

It seems everyone here sees Nurumaiel in a similar way, and I am no exception. She is an elf! I even see her wearing an elvish silvery dress with draped sleeves and delicate wrought mithril head decoration (although I don't see a green stone on it...). Definitely flowing hair, dark with flecks of red-gold, perhaps. (I won't believe Elves can't have red in their hair...*snerk*)

Quote:

Lalwendė, your cats catch spiders? *Hides her several jars, each holding a fat black specimen of black widow, except for the one cute little rose hair tarantula who grows a little every day, bless her!* I often find little jumping spiders around the kitchen sink and one used to live in my car until he vacated suddenly at the local bank. I like to keep them around to eat the flies and mosquitoes, which I have no love for at all! We also catch brown recluses and let them go far from the house (it's a sort of karma thing...we don't kill them, maybe they won't bite us! *knock wood*).

Nurumaiel, how did you know? ;) Keep the same character as an avatar long enough and people begin to see you as the embodiment of that avatar! I think I've had a Elijah as Frodo avatar for most of my time here! Wouldn't it be funny if I changed it to Dame Maggie Smith? Then how would I look in everyone's mind's eye? *chuckles* Actually your description is sometimes quite accurate, except for two particulars. 1- my hair won't hold curls unless it is tortured, and 2-think of my eyes exactly as Morai describes hers above, except mine turn bright green in direct sunlight . I think it is some supernatural thing, like in the Exorcist, or perhaps like Harry Potter... (Isn't it interesting how many facets there can be to a single described "eye color?" Many people have more than one color to their eyes and yet they are described in terms of a single color...but here we enter into complexity!) I think I'd better stop here, lest you all decide I am some total CGI creature...

But to top it all off, perhaps I'll share my image of Neurion, as a Rohirric sort (although somewhat slimmer than the average) who likes to wear a lot of armor (or perhaps hats?). Now I'm thinking of Slash from Guns-n-Roses with Axl Rose's hair! Oh well! Maybe not a top hat!

Cheers!
Lyta

Nurumaiel 01-28-2005 11:40 AM

Generally I seem to give the impression that I'm tall and dark-haired... well, I won't say it's not true, though I'm not giving away too much. ;)

But the question is... how did Lyta know about the red-gold flecks? I thought only the sun and those who see me in it knew that.

As for Nuranar's description... perhaps written in a much more flattering way than I would write for myself... but many of the basic descriptions are correct. I'm not saying which. :p

And Imladris knew about my kitten... very well, he's a cat, but he's still my kitten, no matter what he may be to everyone else.

Encaitare, agreed... tight corsets aren't exactly healthy for the poor little stomach.

The Ka
Quote:

In other words, you're more of a night girl than a day girl. :)

And I forgot to mention in my last post... Boromir88 looks just like Boromir.

Now Nuranar... I always think of a tall, slim girl with long golden hair. You love the woods, but when you ramble you generally go through the long grass of the open fields (and not always on foot... you have a trusty bay steed somewhere abouts). Your eyes are brown, and often dreamy and fiery as you think out stories, or perhaps reflect on one you've just read. You have a faithful little dog who sticks by your side, and often you'll relate to him the excitement of a book just read, when you have no one else to accompany in your wanderings. You can often be found sitting by the fireplace in the winter, reading; in the summer days you read and write by the open window.
