Medieval weaponry, meet a tint poll.

:D

Kath 06-13-2006 12:33 PM

Evisse the blue?

symestreem 06-13-2006 12:39 PM

Nope!

Valier 06-13-2006 01:28 PM

How about Envinyatar?

symestreem 06-13-2006 01:33 PM

No. This member's name doesn't have anything to do with medieval weaponry or tinted polls.

Nice sig, Valier!

Diamond18 06-13-2006 01:49 PM

I was going to say OneAxetoRuleThemAll (I think that's a Downer) but now that medeval weaponry apparently doesn't have anything to do with it....

Is it an anagram?

symestreem 06-13-2006 01:53 PM

Part of it is an anagram, yes.

symestreem 06-14-2006 10:14 AM

The medieval weaponry was meant as a hint, and here's another: go for a walk. Figuratively. But stay in the category ("Middle-Earth Fun and Games".)

Kath 06-14-2006 11:53 AM

Erm . . . lmp?

symestreem 06-14-2006 11:56 AM

Yes! :)

(The medieval weaponry was meant to direct one to the Arrows 'n' Bows thread over in Mirth, which comprises anagrams. And meet a tint poll is indeed an anagram of littlemanpoet.)

Your thread, Kath!

Kath 06-14-2006 01:01 PM

Ah too complex for me, I needed the clue :D

Nomadic piece of history.

Mithalwen 06-14-2006 01:33 PM

Hilde Bracegirdle - Relic of Wandering days?

Kath 06-14-2006 01:38 PM

Ack! Must have been too easy :p Your thread Mith.

Mithalwen 06-14-2006 01:40 PM

No ..just unlucky ... it just happened to ring a bell ... Hilde is a croney from the old codgers club..... :p

Mithalwen 06-15-2006 12:15 PM

Beethoven 73 : Haydn 76

Valier 06-15-2006 01:11 PM

Could it be Encaitare? with the bittersweet symphony?

Well neither is a symphony and it is more topical..:D

Celuien 06-15-2006 04:25 PM

Anguirel the Emperor Penguin, Concerto and Quartet?

Mithalwen 06-16-2006 02:16 AM

Indeed, thread is all yours... :D

Celuien 06-16-2006 03:32 AM

:D

Turn the top e over, if you insist. You won't find the stone giant or woman there.

mormegil 06-21-2006 07:32 PM

This has baffled me and I humbly request a hint.

Celuien 06-21-2006 07:42 PM

Hint:

If you don't find the giant or woman, you may find their opposites.

Turn around is a cryptic instruction. ;)

EDIT: And the clue refers to a screen name.

mormegil 06-21-2006 07:43 PM

The Guy Who Would Be Short.

A wonderful clue but sadly given to a lethargic mind.

Celuien 06-21-2006 07:44 PM

On the right track... But no. ;)

mormegil 06-21-2006 07:45 PM

Okay...

Littlemanpoet...

too many of these short men around here.

Celuien 06-21-2006 07:46 PM

You have it!

Also: turn around -> anagram of top e -> poet

You got the rest already.

The thread is yours.

mormegil 06-21-2006 07:54 PM

Perhaps this will work hopefully it's not too vague.

The first of the first on the first in a series of many but not in Wilwa's threads

Celuien 06-22-2006 12:11 PM

I'm probably being too literal here, (and too obsessed with a certain topic in Mirth ;)) but:

Series of many - the werewolf threads.
First of the series - the original TiG thread
First on the thread - The Barrow-Wight, who was not in Wilwa's game.

So, The Barrow-Wight?

mormegil 06-22-2006 01:58 PM

No but it was a good thought.

mormegil 06-25-2006 05:28 PM

Okay are hints needed?

Quite possibly. :)

I'm stumped...

Gil-Galad 06-25-2006 07:06 PM

Davem perhaps because he began the first Polls on the Downs?

EDIT: or H-I... i'm confused but whomever made the most Polls in the downs

Celuien 06-25-2006 07:15 PM

I'm thinking that Wilwa's threads might be cryptic...but the only non-butterfly thread I can come up with is a spider's web (spider instead of butterfly/silkworm silk).

So, that would give me dancing spawn of ungoliant with Ungoliant as the first spider, but I have serious doubts.

From too literal to too symbolic.

mormegil 06-25-2006 08:56 PM

No, Wilwa isn't cryptic as much as a hint to help you get on the right track. Use a Wilwa thread for a clue but realize it's WW related. :D

Celuien 06-25-2006 09:22 PM

Last guess for the night:

Mithalwen, as the first person to have a Barrow-Downs dream analyzed by our own Dr. Elempi Dream (as far as I can tell). The dream was werewolf related, and not posted on Wilwa's dream thread, but instead on the "Your LOTR Dream" thread by laziieye.

And I'll need some rest before puzzling over this one anymore. :p

EDIT: My mistake. That would be Cailin, not Mithalwen, whose dream was analyzed. Mith made a werewolf related comment that was incorporated into the post...

Good night.

mormegil 06-25-2006 10:39 PM

The expression "You're so close, yet so far" would be appropriate here :D

Mithalwen 06-26-2006 01:31 PM

Wasn't Shelob the first ever werewolf victim? But I don't get the Wilwa ref unless she played a bit longer in that game...

Celuien 06-26-2006 01:39 PM

Ah ha. She wasn't in Wilwa's game...

That might just be it.

mormegil 06-26-2006 02:48 PM

You are both very close but your too focused on Wilwa's game, I said nothing of her game only her threads.

Mithalwen 06-27-2006 01:34 PM

Well apart from WWX she has started 3 threads. Barrow downs dreams..... What colour is Legolas' Hair and double scrambled quotes......

So it (self obsessedly) be me since I don't tend to have dreams of my own.

Or it could be Legolas himself ...or

It could be something completely different...
