Mithalwen 07-13-2006 06:25 AM

Well a Canadian managed .... and Note can be synonymous with Mark....

Well done wilwa!

wilwarin538 07-14-2006 11:54 AM

Thank you!

I'm not very good at coming up with questions, so this one might be easy, but it probably will require the use of Google, or another search engine. ;)

Daphne Anderson, Amanda Donohoe and Felicity Dean were all called by this Downer's name.

Good luck! :D

Eomer of the Rohirrim 07-15-2006 10:23 AM

Well, I came across the name Nora, and found that there was actually a Downer called that.

I have no idea what it all means.

wilwarin538 07-15-2006 10:32 AM

That's not it Eomer.

Maybe it's harder then I thought. :o

If no one gets it by tomorrow I'll give you another woman's name. :)

Kath 07-15-2006 05:03 PM

Ok, slightly random guess inspied by google - Guinevere?

wilwarin538 07-16-2006 08:05 AM

Kath got it!

The three woman I mentioned were all actresses who played Lady Guinevere in a film.

Your thread Kath. :)

Kath 07-16-2006 11:04 AM

Thanks wilwa, methinks I need to go assign Google to the Shire! :D

A name with little sanity.

Now while this makes sense to me it may not to anyone else

Gil-Galad 07-17-2006 06:52 AM

hmmm... there are alot of names like that... LMP?

Kath 07-17-2006 10:01 AM

Nope.

Kath 07-20-2006 10:39 AM

Clues needed?

Valier 07-20-2006 10:43 AM

How about either Fordim or even the Perky Ent?

Kath 07-20-2006 12:02 PM

No.

It's not the actual name that indicates insanity. Also, part of the clue is an anagram. Hope that helps.

Valier 07-20-2006 12:24 PM

Anagram!!!!! I'll never get it now.....Ok I'll try.

Feanor of the Peredhil 07-20-2006 12:35 PM

Throw in an apostrophe with some bad grammar and the whole dratted thing is

I amn't Estelyn with a tail.

So the answer is obviously not a betailed Esty...

Wait!

It man Estelyn with a tail.

So all we have to do... is find a male Esty... that does have a tail!

Kath 07-20-2006 12:37 PM

Fea, though I think you're already quite aware of this, that is not the answer.

Nice try though! :D

Kath 07-26-2006 02:34 PM

Is another clue necessary?

Eomer of the Rohirrim 07-26-2006 03:38 PM

You know it is. :p

Kath 07-26-2006 03:46 PM

Ok, well, try looking at people's locations.

Naria 07-26-2006 06:27 PM

First time guesser; long time viewer here :smokin: . I'll give it a try how about Lhuna?

Kath 07-27-2006 04:14 PM

Not Lhuna I'm afraid - but nice to see you guessing!

mormegil 07-27-2006 04:28 PM

Mithalwen?

Somewhere between flaky and barking mad

Though I'm not sure of the anagram though you can extract Mithalwen from your clue.

Kath 07-27-2006 04:34 PM

You are correct morm. The anagram bit was:

name with l ----> Mithalwen

Not a great one seeing as I'm bad at them myself, but I thought I'd give it a shot. At any rate, it's your thread :)

mormegil 07-27-2006 05:26 PM

I am often seen but seldom heard

Diamond18 07-27-2006 06:30 PM

First guess, Hookbil. His PT is Alive without breath and you if you don't have breath you can't speak, hence seldom heard. But he does a lot of graphic stuff, ergo often seen.

mormegil 07-27-2006 09:04 PM

Nope but an understandable guess.

Glirdan 07-27-2006 09:06 PM

First guesses that come to mind are Wayne or Wilwa. Both of them have been seen around quite often, yet as of recently, they became rather quiet.

mormegil 07-27-2006 09:13 PM

Again no, I fear you are both looking in the incorrect direction.

Gil-Galad 07-28-2006 06:51 AM

the Perky Ent? you always see him as a user online or viewing a thread but he usually doesn't post

The Saucepan Man 07-28-2006 09:47 AM

It is (often unfairly) said that children are best seen and not heard.

So, Child of the 7th Age?

mormegil 07-28-2006 12:05 PM

Sauce that is a good guess and I like the logic but no on both accounts.

However perhaps Chris De Burgh could be of some help.

Diamond18 07-28-2006 04:03 PM

Well, using the Chris de Burgh hint -- is it Me  or Fea?

He has a song called "Diamond in the Dark" and a song called "Lady in Red" which is what motivates those guesses. Yet how either of us would tie in to the first clue, I don't know.

Diamond18 07-28-2006 04:11 PM

Oh wait wait, I change my guess! JennyHallu perhaps? She has a lady in red in her avatar and being a "hallucination" she is something you usually see rather than hear.

mormegil 07-28-2006 04:56 PM

It really is a bit more literal than that Diamond but I love to see the wonderful ways in which you all think.

Valier 07-28-2006 05:06 PM

So what does Chris De Burgh have to do with anything?....I was thinking Jenny too.:)

Now if I told you that it would give away the whole thing but it is somewhat related to his song 'Lady in Red'

Gil-Galad 07-28-2006 05:47 PM

Feanor perhaps? her 'Bringer of the Red Dawn' title

Valier 07-28-2006 08:16 PM

Or Perhaps Roa? Her Avie is a red-haired girl :D

mormegil 07-28-2006 08:43 PM

No she's not a well known downer because the clue is fairly literal on not heard often. Much more so than the downers you are mentioning.

Diamond18 07-28-2006 08:49 PM

Would it be.... red?

I don't think she's been here in years. :p

Or, possibly, Rhod the Red.

mormegil 07-28-2006 09:11 PM

Diamond, if you don't get this soon I may have to whip you! :p ;)
