Teiglin, Sirion, Mindeb, Esgalduin, Aros, and Celon.
|
Sure, your turn.
|
Name all of the rivers (in the north west of Middle Earth, Third Age) that have a color in the name.
|
How about...
Gwathlo (gray)
Brandywine (brown, I think) Lhun (blue) Carnen (red) Morthond (black) Greylin (duh) |
Yeah I think that just about covers it. Good work!
|
|
...Right.
Name, in order, all the hills/mountain ranges that Frodo crossed on his journey between its start in the Shire and its "end" in Mordor.
|
How about:
The Barrowdowns The Weather Hills The Trollshaws The Misty Mountains The Emyn Muil Ered Duath Orodruin? |
It's Ephel Duath, not Ered Duath, but otherwise fine. Go ahead.
|
Okay. Name, in order, the various significant
water features that Tuor encountered/ traveled on throughout his life. |
This is probably wrong, and missing a lot, but here goes...
Cirith Nin-niach Pools of Ivrin Sirion Narog Bay of Balar Belegaer I wasn't sure if a couple counted, or if to put them on twice if he traveled on them twice. |
Hmm. A good job by Goldberry 101 .
. I think at least two bodies, one mentioned (Sirion), should be cited twice. Remember, "body of water" isn't limited by size. So I suppose at least nine names (at least two repeats) should be in a longer list. (I'm not counting, although perhaps they should be, the fountains of Gondolin---since they're artificial). Cirith Nin-niach Pools of Ivrin Sirion Narog Bay of Balar Belegaer |
How's this? Some are probably wrong...
Lake Mithrim Cirith Nin-Niach Belegaer? Pools of Ivrin Sirion Narog Sirion? Bay of Balar Belegaer |
That's the major ones. I think there could be four more
water features (three of them rivers), although the rivers are just passed briefly. Your work is good enough, but if you care try for the others, if not I'll list them. 1.Lake Mithrim 2.Cirith Ninniiach 3. 4.Belegaer 5.Pools of Ivrin 6. 7. 8. 9.Sirion 10.Narog 11.Sirion 12.Bay of Balar 13.Belegaer |
Here's another try...not sure on them though
1.Lake Mithrim 2.Cirith Ninniiach 3.Definately not sure...perhaps the Linewen? 4.Belegaer 5.Pools of Ivrin 6.Narog (is very close to Pools of Ivrin...maybe encountered?) 7.Teiglin 8.Malduin 9.Sirion 10.Narog 11.Sirion 12.Bay of Balar 13.Belegaer |
Good work, Goldberry101 .
The three rivers (Narog, Teiglin, and Malduin) are mentioned in passing in UT. For number three I was thinking of the Firth of Drengist. I don't know that there's definite indications of Tuor seeing the Linaewen. Your turn. 1.Lake Mithrim 2.Cirith Ninniiach 3.(Firth of Drengist) 4.Belegaer 5.Pools of Ivrin 6.Narog 7.Teiglin 8.Malduin 9.Sirion 10.Narog 11.Sirion 12.Bay of Balar 13.Belegaer |
I don't know any. Someone else can go if they want to. If no one goes within a day or two, then I'll think of one.
|
Won't someone go? I am afraid if I ask one I would get the answer wrong.
|
Hey we all make mistakes sometimes, I my self have made several and when I have to keep track of several quizes, I often get very confused.
Ok I will ask an easy one just to get us going! which two rivers met at the Meres of Twilight ? |
Aros and Sirion meet there.
|
keghobbit I love you !
Right you are. . . your turn-
|
