Now, for my comments.
Lindo, your first guess was simply atrocious. :p
Formendacil, I'm not usually allowing the use of items unless I specifically say so (Lindo should know this by now ;) ), so sorry. Lindo (again), http://forum.barrowdowns.com/ubb/icons/icon14.gif. Your turn. :) |

I've got a quicker way! :D
Hint: Anyone who has been to Gondolin knows everyone from Gondolin because it's such an isolated place. |
OK, so . . .
Rog -> Eärendil -> Elrond -> Frodo (-> Drogo) -> Dudo Baggins
:p |

Rog-> Glorfindel-> Frodo (->Drogo)-> Dudo Baggins Not that it matters much, anyway... |
But it does matter...
Because you got it right, Formendacil!
|
Oh dear...
Surely this doesn't mean I don't have to come up with another! ;) |
Surely it does! It's by far the toughest part of the game too. :p
|
Well, in that case:
Thuringwethil -> Hob Hayward
|
Thuringwethil -> Lúthien (-> Thingol) -> Galadriel -> Sam -> Hob Hayward
|
Not what I was looking for, but it appears to be all in order. Guess you're next.
|
Thanks!
Bombadil -> Borin
|
Bombadil-> Frodo-> Bilbo-> Thorin-> Thror-> Borin
|
Hmmm . . . looks good.
Looks like you'll have to do that thing you dread. ;)
Your turn. |
Gorbag-> Morgoth
|
Gorbag ->A Nazgul ->Sauron- >Morgoth
|
Ouch...
I was afraid someone would guess that. I had a different idea in mind, and wondered if anyone would guess it, but I suppose that we have to say that it's correct. All the evidence would suggest that Gorbag, a captain at Minas Morgul, knew the Nazgul. Still, I have another way... Anyways, it would seem that you, Elf-warrior, have got it. Still, out of curiosity, can anyone come up with another way? |
Strictly speaking you'd be within your rights not accpeting the answer, Formendacil - on the basis of the following note to the original game rules:

Out of curiosity...
Gorbag-> (Ufthak)-> Shelob-> Ungoliant-> Morgoth
Is that the one you wanted?:) |
That's a very impressive one, which I hadn't even considered. But as far as I know, Gorbag never met Ufthak (it's Shagrat who tells the story: "Don't you know anything? This fellow ain't dead). At least, I'm pretty sure that's the case.
Also, I don't think that Gorbag ever met Shelob. For one thing, the Morgul orks seem rather ignorant concerning her, and also he's still alive, right? :p I've got a rather different train of thought, one which depended on Sauron (so I don't feel right disapproving the above post), but which doesn't assume that Gorbag and the Nazgul ever met (even though it may seem like a logical assumption). *Thinks to self: SO should have made it Shagrat and not Gorbag. |
Trying to use Shagrat and Sauron...
Gorbag-> Shagrat-> (Frodo's mithril coat)-> Mouth of Sauron-> Sauron-> Morgoth
|
I was going with just people...
And, to clarify in case anyone was confused, when I said that Shagrat would have been preferable to Gorbag, I was thinking of the starting point. Shagrat and Gorbag each had contact with the next link, but unlike Gorbag, Shagrat doesn't seem as likely to have made contact with a Nazgul (which was the monkey-wrench of the Gorbag scenario). |

I TOTALLY forgot that.... No matter where I go, I can't escape those Nazgul! You're more on to what I was thinking (and a somewhat easier way than I was thinking), so I'll give it to you and get out of the limelight. What I WAS thinking though was: Gorbab-> Frodo-> Elrond-> (Celebrimbor->) Sauron-> Morgoth. As noted, it uses Sauron. I SO can't believe I didn't think about the Nazgul here.... |
Shelob -> Beorn
no hobbits, Sauron, Gandalf, or Saruman |
Shelob -> Gollum -> Aragorn -> Gloin -> Beorn?
|
sorry, I consider gollum a hobit
there is another way to go about this |
I should probably avoid this thread, but....
Shelob-> Ungoliant-> Balrog-> Gimli-> Gloin-> Beorn
|
That is not the way I had in mind, and I am not sure if all the balrogs were at the freeing of MElkor from Ungolient, I know that atleast some of them were, but I am not sure if the MOria Balrog was, if you have a source that can show me otherwise please do so.
|
Shelob -> Ufthak -> Shagrat -> Mouth of Sauron -> Gimli -> Gloin -> Beorn
|
I do not know of a place where it says that Shagrat actually met the mouth of sauron, he could have brought the mail hirt and other items to Barad-dur and someone else could have delivered them to the mouth.
|
Shelob-> Ungoliant-> Morgoth-> Yavanna-> Radagast-> Beorn?
|
you got it, your go Formendacil
|
Oh dear... Now I've got to think of something...
Grishnahk-> Turin II (Steward of Gondor)
No Hobbits or Maiar allowed. |
Grishnahk -> Eomer -> Aragorn -> Ecthelion II -> Turin II
|
