Eomer, I figured that one might be a little hard to figure out. It's of mormegil, based off of his old avatar of a monkey with a gun (I presumed).

The Saucepan Man 09-08-2005 01:59 PM

If anyone is wondering about TGWBS's latest creation, it depicts my former signature Lost in Translation.

And one finds it most amusing. :D

The Only Real Estel 09-08-2005 02:05 PM

Ah, that does clear up a thing or two, Saucey.

Orominuialwen 09-09-2005 04:58 PM

I have drawn a celtic knot that reminds me of a BDer. I'll post it as soon as I get a better version drawn and I can take a picture of it. (I don't have a scanner, so advance apologies for the possible fuzziness.)

Edit: Here's the knot. I touched it up a bit in Photoshop, since it came out fuzzy and with the colors very off when I took a picture of it, but unfortunately the writing is a bit weird and the color is still sort of wrong. See if you can guess who it reminded me of. (The color is a hint.)

Wilwarin! :)

It's wonderful how symbols can make you think of so many things based upon simple shapes and memorable colours. Very good knot, I've had to keep a distance from drawing them, since one side always seems to be lopsided and nothing matches up the the other end... Yours is very skilled.

Very pretty Oromin. I like it very much. :D Well done. I also noticed its kinda shaped like a butterfly, thats so cool. :p

Orominuialwen 09-10-2005 09:24 AM

I'm glad you like it! I was a bit worried that nobody would get it, since when I showed it to my brother he couldn't figure it out at all.

Ka, the reason it came out so well is because I draw them on a grid. I learned how to do them when I got this book out from the library last summer. I started out just making the ones in the book, and then started designing my own about 6 or 7 months ago. In fact, I'm in the process of designing a pendant with a similar knot on it for my jewelry making class, but that's another story...

Oromin, that's a really nice pic. I'd imagine that drawing complicated knots like that can make you crazy... Sounds like fun!

I've approached a couple of our fellow Downers from a canine perspective. Can you guess who they are?

the guy who be short 09-10-2005 11:50 AM

Very cool, spawn. Laitanyel. ;)

I particularly liked the Eomer one. Verily do I mourn the loss of that Avatar. :( The Fordim one was also nice though.

Glirdan 09-10-2005 01:09 PM

I kind of thought those were the two that you drew spawn. Good job!! Very awsomely done.

Boromir88 09-13-2005 02:24 PM

Spawn, I'd say the first one reminds me of Fordim.

The Second, only person who comes to mind is the one with the snoopy avatar...Mr. Eomer of the Rohirrim.

Good drawings, I only wish I was quasi-artistic.

WaynetheGoblin 09-13-2005 04:22 PM

I know right away the second one was emor but I dont think the first one reminds me of anybody good job.

dancing spawn of ungoliant 09-14-2005 07:23 AM

Thanks guys! You're right, the first one is indeed our favourite pollster Fordim and the second one is an Auspicious ex-Snoopy in a kilt ie. Eomer.

edit: Oh, Eomer has changed the Snoopy avatar back. Yay! ;)

What do I win? Wasn't there a small disclaimer about winning something? :p

I wish I was a good artist to draw pictures, but I find it difficult to make anything artistic on paint.

Feanor of the Peredhil 09-14-2005 12:45 PM

It's really almost depressing what procrastination can force out of you. Guess who. It shouldn't be hard, I promise.

Glirdan 09-14-2005 01:20 PM

You stumped me Fea!! Curse you!! Good frog though!!!

Feanor of the Peredhil 09-14-2005 01:27 PM

Really? I'll maybe begin aiming un-directed and truly random hints at you now... just because I'm in that sort of mood.

That obvious? Did you see his ribbiting? Or my clue...

Estelyn Telcontar 09-15-2005 02:29 AM

The ribbiting, of course! And who else could be a - nay, THE frog, at least to those of us who fondly remember the days when his posts here abounded.

Beware, Paint newbie...

A quick WW 9 inspired Paint drawing, which I used for the first time. You'll have to full-view it, though...

the guy who be short 09-15-2005 10:24 AM

*Giggles*

Do you stalk me or something? That's an admirable likeness.

And I had little to work on... honest.

Fordim Hedgethistle 09-15-2005 03:09 PM

Egads, dancing spawn of ungoliant it's like looking in a mirror!

The Only Real Estel 09-23-2005 08:36 AM

Apoligies to the 'mystery BDer' for the attempt at a likeness, but, as usual, I plead no time. ;)

Hopefully the general idea was gotten across well enough...

p.s. For some reason I can't even access deviantart from my home cpu anymore so I hope the link works well.

p.p.s. Fordim, I'm working on one of you but, well...time. :p

Morsul the Dark 09-23-2005 10:01 AM

I wouldn't suppose thats enca would I? :p

The Only Real Estel 09-23-2005 12:40 PM

Of course not. ;) Glad to see that the link works...

Feanor of the Peredhil 09-23-2005 12:55 PM

Is it just me, or is the preening lad looking scarily reminiscent of a rather phantomic member here?

Glirdan 09-23-2005 02:03 PM

Yes, it does look like a rather well known person. *CoughPhantomCough* :D Good jobe TORE. Still envious.....

Encaitare 09-23-2005 06:54 PM

Well, I'm sure Enca would choose Grima over phantom also.

Strange that you were the first to 'notice' this, Fea...:p

Which reminds me of another drawing I'm, er, working on right now.

By the way, just to clear things up, that is supposed to be Brad Pitt, not phantom. The title 'Pitt, Bloom, or Wormtounge' gives it away. ;)

Although, I seem to remember Celebuial saying this of tp:

Quote:

Does anyone else think that The Phantom look's a bit like Brad Pitt?
So I guess I drew Pitt well enought that people, er...thought he was phantom. :D (<--it's late, if that makes no sense you now know why)

The Only Real Estel 09-23-2005 10:53 PM

Sorry for the double post, but I did a real quick drawing of you, Fordim.

Er, I mean of a 'Mystery BDer'. ;)

Click

p.s. I seem to be having a bit of trouble with it, you may have to click on the picture to view it...

hehe I like that one! It really conveys the narcicism of Orlando Bloom. :D

Feanor of the Peredhil 09-24-2005 06:27 AM

What a fantastic bumper sticker for Ford[h]im. I love it.

Firefoot 09-24-2005 07:11 AM

And I love the little graphs hanging down from the mirror... brilliant, TORE.

Glirdan 09-24-2005 08:29 AM

Brilliant!! Absolutely wonderfully done!!! I love it!!!

Yes, apoligies for having the 'H' in there, but 'dim' wasn't enough digits for the phone number. At least we know it was deliberate, though...:D

Thinlómien 09-27-2005 08:47 AM

You're all so great. :p Think I start working on some picture of my own soon... :D

THE Ka 10-01-2005 02:01 PM

Apologies for the late factor.

I have been stiffled by illness, struck in artistically baffling predictions (that came true!!), and endured many more horribly enimatic medical experiments to bring forth this present to a beloved fellow member of the downs:

Click hear, if you are stripped enough...

Hope you all enjoy.

P.S. Oddwen, you really should start a soothsaying auction house. You're wonderfully accurate my dear!
