One, about the novelty item. Could that be a walking stick? Or would a walking stick be considered a weapon??

naa... you can have a walking stick Glirdingo. :) As long as your item is not on the list and you can carry it.

Sorry for the absence, I have been working on housing remodeling for the past three days, and studying, but those things are boring and all of you would not like to hear of me painting door frames. :p

As for race, I have no clue now, except I've been thinking of Ent, if it is okay.

I'm sorry but it would impossible for me to post on the 7th. Nope, theres almost no way I'd have enough time to do anything at all. First off I'm travelling and then theres some book related work I have to deal with so yeah. There is almost no way my first post will be up on the 7th but I'll be sure to have it up on the 8th.

Sleepy, you can post it now. We don't need you to wait until the 7th, we justneed it by the 7th, so we can start playing at the set time on the 8th. If you can get it in before The start of the game on the 8th, you'll be fine.

All players The game will begin on Tuesday the 8th with the first Day phase starting at 1:00pm CST. All players must have their first post up by the first day start. Please make sure all your info is highlighted in this first post.

Day 1 will begin as follows.....

after all the players first posts are in (posted anytime before the deadline), I will post the starting storyline. After this is up all players will be sent their first direction choices. All players start at the same spot. All players will have the same preset scenarios for their first day direction choice, since there is only three choices for the first day.

players will then pm their direction choice to the available mod (will be posted each day) Players will then receive their scenario. Then the players ask the available mod 3 questions about their surroundings via pm (chose your words wisely) Players receive answers to their questions via pm. Players then proceed with their post. This post must contain what direction they chose, what they encountered(scenario) and how they over came it or what they decided to do in the scenario.



Note: Ka you may be an Ent, but you must thoroughly explain why you as an Ent would come across a wine bottle label, as well as why an Ent would make such an adventure for treasure. If you can do all this then by all means you can be an Ent. :p Note: No Evil creatures!!!! Players must have their characters fit with the storyline, I don't care who or of what age you pick as long as you can make it plausible.

Why thank you very much, and do not worry. I've come up with a plan, and of course it will have some kafkaesque tolkien elements, but that is what makes life in arda interesting, no? ;)

We (The Mods) have been talking about the names and we would like to encourage people not to use Star Wars names, as this is kind of a serious game and is supposed to take place in Middle-Earth.

Because game start is fast aproaching, we wont set down rules. So if you have another name you could use and want to please the mods, you can change your name. If not, it will be alright as well.

Important note

All players you have 36hrs each day phase to finish all that is required of you. If you do not send out your pms as early as you can, you may receive all your information late, giving you less time to work on your posts, but that is up to each of you how you choose to work this.

Just remember each of you has to send a pm, receive a pm, send a pm and then receive your final pm (question answers) each day!!!! and remember to keep you pm boxes clean, if you miss something because your box is full...well lets say that's not good.

If you do not finish all these tasks each day(36hrs) you will not move on! and there will be further consequences

Which Age of Middle-earth are we in? I'm wondering if I can be from Gondor.

I fetched Lommy from her summer-camp today, but the day turned out busier than we thought. Therefore we both salute the new beginning time for the game with joy. On tuesday we will be with you - and send the first posts before it...

I can happily change my name from Noh-Be-Wan-Go-Roddin' to anything else. That was just an idea of the moment when I got back to the BD. But as I have thought of being an Easterling, I would stick to something like Noh-Wan-Gor, or No-Go-Roddin', or maybe for Novgorod or Nou-Gou-Rod... Pick one that pleases you or suggest other possibilities. :)

PS. Valier, the basic opening of the storyline looks quite nice - and without knowing the twists and turns to come, it's hard to pinpoint anythnig exact from it...

The game takes place in the III age, the year 1300. So if you want to be from Gondor that will be just swell.

A few more notes and such..... PLEASE READ

After some thought about the volume of pming required for this game I have decided to cut out a whole step....Players will now at day start pm their direction choice directly to a mod, there will be no direction descriptions, you just pm left, right or straight. You will have the map to tell you where you are.

This game is all about your choices and decisions. Please read every scenario VERY carefully, you should then already have a plan forming in your brain about what your character would do in that situation.....use this forming plan to advise you on what questions to ask. You must ask all 3 questions in one pm, you may not change your questions once they are sent. remember....clever well thought out questions will help you greatly in each scenario you encounter. Pretend as if you are your character standing in their spot, your questions will be like you observing your surrounding from where you stand.

Regarding nights: At night time, think of it as free time, you can post back and forth in RP style all you want, if you are bored and around that night you can just go nuts for all I care....do what you want, what would your character be doing? The nights will have no effect on your play the next day, so this is your time to play around. Players may at night share info on what they learned about their scenario during the day, as in what questions they asked. Players may be coming up to the same scenario as someone ahead of them. Players can lie...as I said night time is free time...If your character is shifty or a thief you may want to leave false hints for other players in your nightly posts. BE ADVISED: you may not lie during the day, you may omit things about what you asked but you must tell how you "defeated" your scenario.

Just think of it like this....you are molding that scenario even further with your questions, so any player that lands there after you, can see from your post and look for ways to help themselves by not asking about stuff that has already been asked about.

Days are quite strict, you must not lie!! you can tell your "story" the way you want, you do not need to share all the info about your questions, but you MUST tell in your post what was in your original scenario description.

All players: Your first posts are just great!!! But I must insist on one thing.....Please bold all this info...

Before I forget this... I'm really sorry, but the night phase being only 12h long, I'm afraid I won't be able to participate every night... The times when the night is (for me) from 9PM to 9AM it's not certain that I'll be able to participate.

We're having guests and they will probably be sleeping in the room where the computer is, and as two of them are very little kids (4 and 2 years), there might be no chance for me to get online always... Hopefully you understand my situation.... :)

No problem Lommy!! You only need to vote for your daily favorite post via pm to a mod. Besides that you do not need to post at night. That is just free time. :)

Lommy, if you want to vote early, that will be fine. We won't punish you for the first night or so, but continual failure to vote wil result in not moving the next day.

Okay. But I just got informed by Valier that we actually have 24h nights, so I shouldn't have any problems with it... :)

The night phase is 24 hrs, not 12 like I stated before!!! remember u can not vote for yourself and the winner moves farther than the rest the next day

NOTICE YET AGAIN.......Players please....in your questioning some of you have been way too vague, using jargon and slang to get your request across...Be as straight forward as possible.

For the most part they have been good :) just be more precise. I am sure this will get easier as we go along, just bear with me and I promise it will all be worth it. ;)

Are we all allowed to have some kind of bag for our things (food, water, spare clothes, novelty item)?

Yes each player has a pack that they carry their belongings in. :)
