In the air of the current financial crises I might say, "yes there is still a bit too little regulation"... :)

Thanks for making me feel sane again... I mean at some point I relly thought I was being a silly person with no idea of something really basic everyone knows...

A fun round anyway and some really nice pics!

But anyway we should think of this for the next one. Like the lawmakers in the U.S., how to regulate it enough for it to work but not to shun individual effort?

*ponders* :smokin:

TheGreatElvenWarrior 10-04-2008 01:52 AM

This one was quite strange! I just don't know what to say. My favourite part was the one that said THE End, though!:D:p;)

Or maybe just teams writing any part they want and therefore the challenge is arranging each teams' work?

That would probably give the comic enough glue to string together some plot, but not too much at the loss of perfect insanity.
Maybe something like a 'choose your own adventure' book, where some of the plot remains, but the result for the different parts is wholly up to the team's devices and imagination.

Ach! Don't mention that name! THE Great Crasher of Epic Narrative, THE Far Too Conclusive One, and Destorer of Tolerably Well Crafted Plot Lines...

Aganzir 10-04-2008 02:07 PM

I'm in for the next one.

Sorry but I'm too tired to think of any ways to improve the coherency right now. I promise to think about it tomorrow or some other day.

Thinlómien 10-06-2008 02:06 AM

This was very amusing :D but I agree that the format is still a tad too unclear or that it doesn't work out perfectly yet. Hmmm... would this game totally lose its point if it became more papertelephoneish so that we actually established a list of the order in which we draw, and then everybody could see the panel the previous person had drawn (but not the ones before it)? (And did I explain clearly enough?)

Hookbill the Goomba 10-06-2008 06:15 AM

Here's an idea to make things a little less Paper Telephone...y?... and still retain some sort of story, as it were.

We get two people to draw panels. A third person draws something to try and link to the two together. Then we take the last panel and get someone else to draw another, then someone else links them. Something like that? So it's a bit like a chain, only... not?

Does this make sense? :(

So far, this many people have signed up for the next one...

Aganzir 10-06-2008 12:01 PM

I think that sounds at least worth a try. And if it doesn't work we can always try something else. :)

I am unable to draw (well, I can draw but not send) anything during next week, just FYI. So I will have to do my piece either very soon or only later I think.
Or then you Hookbill could come and pick up the picture in London. ;)

Legate of Amon Lanc 10-06-2008 12:51 PM

The idea as presented by you sounds good, Hookbill. Actually, the thing I thought of originally (which I can't recall :D ) may have been something similar (that means it is a good idea ;) ). And, you may add me to the list... if there's space still!!!

Nogrod 10-06-2008 02:39 PM

Good idea Hookbill!

I'm in for a try.

*this will work one day, this will work...*

Thinlómien 10-06-2008 02:43 PM

Let's try it, then. :) Count me in, Hookey. :D

Perfectly, we just have to make sure we have an even number of people, or someone is going to be left out.

I'll try another go, hopefully this time it won't look like a microscopic scrubble.

Hookbill the Goomba 10-09-2008 03:44 PM

We could do with a few more people. Who wants to join the insanity? You? You? Or maybe... YOU!

Hey, What the heck! I'll do it again!

Aganzir 10-28-2008 10:52 AM

Eee. More then two weeks since the last post.

Good grief! You're right! I think we still need more players in order to begin, though.

TheGreatElvenWarrior 11-29-2008 05:42 PM

I'll play, if that is, we play again! Haven't thought about this thread in a while...

Hookbill the Goomba 11-29-2008 06:04 PM

You're already on the list, Greaty.

Urm... If this game goes ahead, I don't think I'd be able to mod it. Coursework and other matters are bludgeoning me in the face at the moment... I may be able to get a panel done, but I don't think I'd be able to properly mod.

Anyone up for it? :(

Volo 12-01-2008 06:08 AM

I'll play, not mod.

Hookbill the Goomba 12-01-2008 06:39 AM

Well, I think that's enough players... All we need now is a mod... :(

Oddwen 12-01-2008 11:14 AM

Hmm...I think I might be able to mod.

Did we find a continuity fix yet? Two suggestions I have would be to either have the mod come up with a story and give each drawer an assignment, or to be too paperteleporno and have each drawer describe their panel for the next person. The first might be a bit too tyrannical, and the second too multiple-topics-on-the-same-subjectish.

The Might 12-01-2008 02:53 PM

I wanna play too! :D

Laurinquë 12-07-2008 02:32 AM

Seems a tad late, but I would like to play so I'll put myself up for the next round.

I laughed so hard at the last strip, and I don't even know why. I think it was just all the strange situations Gandalf went though, I mean really, Daleks? It's amazing 'Greaty'. I'm glad you asked if you could put one in.

Oddwen 12-07-2008 11:46 AM

Mkay. Here is my list of players:

- Aganzir
- Legate
- Nogrod
- Lommy
- THE Ka
- Gwathagor
- TheGreatElvenWarrior
- Volo
- Hookbill
- He Who Arises in Might
- Laurinque

Here's how it'll all go down. I will PM you all the same sentence, you will draw a 200x200 panel. Dialogue and the occasional "Meanwhile, back at the ranch..." inserts are fine. You will email it back to me at the address I will send you. I will arrange said panels in a semi-coherent manner, and then post them here.

If the end result just doesn't amalgamate, I may add a few panels myself.

Any objections? If not, I will send out the PMs tomorrow.

The next Mod may want to replace "a sentence" with "a poem"...that could be interesting.

edit: Oh!

What of this?

Oddwen 12-09-2008 10:42 PM

I've sent y'all your sentence a day late, which I'm sorry about. But they're sent.

Please try to get your panels to me at the address ensconcelled in your PMs within a week.

If you want to give your panels a widescreen effect by making them wider, I wouldn't mind. It's kind of a weird sentence after all. :/

Know what...I forgot that many of you are also working on the *cough* long-running Paper Telephone...during the Christmas season...

If we can finish this up before the new year (MST) that would be wonderful, but if we can't, I'll fill a few spaces.

Legate of Amon Lanc 12-17-2008 04:06 PM

Oh no, I should have done it right when I got it; now I completely forgot about it. And there is so many other things which I should do as well... if it can wait, it will be great. If not, you can just as well remove me from the list.

(And don't even tell me - I am the one who is modding this Paper Telephone, waiting for people to post what they should for weeks...)

Sounds familiar... I'll try to do it today, but if I don't have time, I'm afraid it will have to wait a rather long time... :(

Thinlómien 12-19-2008 02:56 AM

Done. :)

Laurinquë 01-03-2009 04:08 AM

How's this going? I am looking forward to seeing my panel 'in print'.

I know I'm being a bit of an inquisitive hobbit here, but when do you think this will be done by Oddwen?

Oddwen 01-03-2009 05:53 AM

Well, I've highlighted the persons in the list above who have sent in their panels and there's one other person who said they were drawing theirs, but...

I shall likely send reminder PMs this afternoon, and finish it up Monday if I must.

Aganzir 01-03-2009 09:11 AM

I just came online with a plan to draw mine today.
Sorry it's taken me so long, first I just didn't have time and then I forgot about it.

Oddwen 01-03-2009 05:03 PM

I'm giving you three (*glare*) until the ninth to finish up, just to give it an even month. Yes, even the one of you with a full PM box.

:D

Hsss... Nassty found uss! But what iss thiss, iss nassty beigh nice to uss?

I'll see what I can do today, now that I'm back.

Oddwen 01-07-2009 08:26 AM

Okey dokey, only one person to go.

TGEW, are you still having computer/scanner problems, and if so will you be able to get your picture in?

Oddwen 01-08-2009 11:17 AM

One more day to go - I'm going to offer the remaining spot to someone if they want it. First one to PM me gets to draw it. Step right up! Step right up!

If not, I'll do it meself. No biggie.

Oddwen 01-09-2009 02:18 PM

Alrighty, here we go!

The sentence I sent out...was different for each person. They all interconnect to make a horrible poem. A poem which you are about to read:

Thank you all for playing this round! I hope this wasn't too offensive, and was coherent enough.

Drawings in order of appearance:

Aganzir, Legate of Amon Lanc, Nogrod
Thinlomien, THE Ka, Gwathagor,
Oddwen, Volo, Hookbill the Goomba
Oddwen, The Might, Laurinque

Sorry you couldn't make it, Greaty. Better luck with your scanner next time!

Hookbill the Goomba 01-09-2009 02:27 PM

An excellent comic, I say! Well done Oddy and everyone else involved. Laurinque's picture was quite good, I thought. Aganzir went above and beyond once again! Well done! :)

Thinlómien 01-09-2009 02:36 PM

Funny. :D I must say Hookbill's picture amused me the most. :D Thanks for modding, Oddie!

Legate of Amon Lanc 01-09-2009 02:46 PM

Actually, I really liked Gwath's pic, and then I also liked P&A on Miggy and Laurinquë's ones. But great work, actually, everybody :) And thanks, Oddie. :)
