Why are there two FaramirTook's?(#161 and #5287)

Pallando B.C 01-12-2003 05:29 PM

It's good to see so many Aussies on the Downs!

Go the Brisbane Lions!

Raefindel I talked about my parents because they are sometimes overprotective, and when I first started posting on this site my mom was kind of worried (she didn't want me finding any weird people or anything like that) and we are also very close (which is a good thing). I am going to be 17 on January 14, but I don't go many places on my own.
Additionally there is nothing wrong with 13-15 year olds, just as long as every post is not "I love Orlando Bloom", "Legolas is a hotty", etc.

I'm 15 in 14 days! That's the same as Australia Day. Go Aussie!
Anyway, there ought to be a new pic of me up soon if it isn't already, so you'll get to see me in a better state this time . It was taken right after the premiere of TTT.
The pic has been added, are you an Aussie? If we have more Aussie members we should have a BD convention.

Pallando B.C 01-12-2003 06:38 PM

Ah, an Adelaide man! Yes, a good team

I like the Idea of an Aussie BD conversation, Alkanoonion. We should seriously consider that!

Raefindel 01-12-2003 06:43 PM

Gorwingel, You look older that 17! I understand your parents concern. My husband was nervous about me meeting fellow Barrow Downers and I'm 37! To date, I've met 2 fellow Barrow-Downers (soon to be 3) and I haven't met a shister yet.

Ithaeliel, that's a Beautiful Picture. Did you make your own dress?

Aylwen Dreamsong 01-12-2003 07:03 PM

I wish I could meet some fellow BD-ers, but I don't think their are many around here.

It is a pretty dress, Ithaeliel.

Your (is it yours?) dog looks so sweet, Gorwingel!! I like cats better though . Amanduial looks just like my best friend! In fact, lots of the younger BD members remind me of my friends.

Very good job, Alkanoonion!

Aylwen

Gorwingel 01-12-2003 08:06 PM

Yes, It is my dog, he is named Jack, he is the most wonderful, smart, terrific, sweet Golden Retrevier in the entire world (he is named after the character in Titanic, so if I would have gotten him any later his name would probably have been Frodo )

Brinniel 01-12-2003 09:28 PM

Please tell me you either cropped me out of the pic or I'm just not in it, Ith. The pic I sent you was a terrible one of me!

I will hopefully update my pic soon. Just looking for a good picture of me. :)

Alkanoonion 01-13-2003 06:39 AM

Um it was me who did the cropping; I did remove you from the pic. But I was surprised that you did not like it, I thought it looked great.

Amanaduial the archer 01-13-2003 04:15 PM

Same Aylwen. Not really many people around me either....

dragoneyes 01-13-2003 04:42 PM

I already know all ther BDers round here.

Amanaduial the archer 01-13-2003 04:44 PM

Hmm, well I know youre in the same country as me anyway dragon...

I've seen better. I like it when you can actually SEE my hair.

are you an Aussie?
Unfortunately no; I'm an American who likes to pretend to be a Scot But I gives Australia a big hug because I LOVE IT!

The strange thing is, I might have been an Aussie, because my mom and dad almost moved to Perth before I was born.

Raefindel and Aylwen- Thank you! I didn't make the dress; my mother did it, in fact she sewed the last stitches the very same day that picture was taken! I love it; I'm going to wear it to the RotK premiere too if I haven't got a BD t-shirt by then.

Gorwingel 01-16-2003 01:02 AM

I know it has been a little bit, but Raefindel who is the third Barrow Downer that you are going to meet?

Nimrodel 01-16-2003 09:37 PM

Hmmm... I seem to be missing from you family tree; My # is 2291.

Aramacil 01-17-2003 05:49 AM

Same question here.
I'm not on your list yet.

I'm number 3115.

Aylwen Dreamsong 01-17-2003 07:04 AM

I'm on the list, with the wrong number.

#3938

Alkanoonion 01-17-2003 07:15 AM

On my list on my work computer I now have over 350 members names but I have not updated the web page, as I would like to add it all at the same time. I aim to have the list complete in two weeks. Then the next step is the cut and pasting onto a family tree image. It will be a lot of work but I think that it would be a helpful resource for members and it will hopefully look great. A true dedication to the many members who have helped shaped the Downs into arguably the number one Tolkien Site on the web.

BTW Aylwen Dreamsong my old list was hand typed in making mistakes a certainty therefore the new list has been copied directly from the forum to eliminate errors.

Balin999 01-17-2003 07:47 AM

Ugh! That's me!
Well I just sent a new pic, that one is 4 years old, actually.
Oh, Diamond18 is a girl? Surprise surprise
Great site, Alk, I really like it!

Btw, my alias, Sauron999, is Member Number 666, just to complete your list.

Diamond18 01-17-2003 03:31 PM

And here I thought it was rather obvious, what with every other post being, "I love Pippin". Ahem, okay, so maybe not that often.

Galadrie1 01-17-2003 04:10 PM

I love Pippin.

(You knew you had that coming, Diamond )

Raefindel 01-17-2003 05:08 PM

I was just wondering Alk, Not that it has any bearing whatsoever anyway, but what about cases of family members? I know Thenamir said his daughters are on this forum and my husband occasionally shows himslef as well (Greycloak, #1843) How will that be reflected in your family tree? Or will it?

Alkanoonion 01-17-2003 11:22 PM

Good question, as it is not common knowledge as to who is related to who I had not planned on portraying family members together but if members would like to be together on the family tree they will have to tell me who their family members are.

GreatWarg 01-20-2003 03:35 PM

Alkanoonion -- An excellent idea! it would be a wonder to see how you squeeze all the members of the Downs onto one family tree! I just humbly ask that I am not placed in the 'Long Gone' pile, for as you see, I am unmistakably still here in my Barrow, though I have been gone for long draughts.

May the blessings of the Valar go with you on your Quest.

GreatWarg

Alkanoonion 01-21-2003 07:21 AM

I have now added more people to the members pic page.

Dain B.C 01-22-2003 05:15 AM

Haha, Entmoot......

burrahobbit 01-22-2003 01:01 PM

Oh Balin, oo la la.

burrahobbit 01-22-2003 01:02 PM

P.S. Alkanoonion, all of the early member numbers are wrong.

Amanaduial the archer 01-22-2003 01:13 PM

ooh ouch burra. Not all of them are are they? The Barrow Wight, Sharku and Mithadan are right at least.

Alk, how is this family tree going to work? I mean, Im not related to anyone here; I only know one person in real life (The Daughter Of Gollum And Shelob) and I think her account has been deleted in any case.

burrahobbit 01-22-2003 01:23 PM

No, those three are all wrong. BW should be 1, then there are like 2 guys that don't post, then me, then one or two more, then Balin999, and then I don't remember. Compare when I registered to when Sharku registered.

Amanaduial the archer 01-22-2003 01:32 PM

Hmmmm. Why is the BW number 2 then underneath his name?

burrahobbit 01-22-2003 03:36 PM

Because all of the early numbers are wrong, like I said a few posts ago.

dragoneyes 01-22-2003 05:07 PM

I thought you meant that Alkanoonion had gotten them wrong, I see now.

Alkanoonion 01-22-2003 06:17 PM

Actually member #1 is the Admin account or site account that is in my list therefore Barrow-Wight is member number 2 but If Mr B would like I can move the member numbers up.

burrahobbit 01-22-2003 06:21 PM

I know it's the admin account, but there didnt't use to be an admin account, back when the forum was on EZboard. The member numbers got all wonky when the board was moved to UBB.

If you like you can email me with the correct order that people joined, personally I have a limited amount of time to work on this project in my lunch hr mainly. To save on confusion I was just going by the displayed member name and number.

To help clarify, the Family tree is not based on members personal family but our big downs family all 3000+ and was intended as a visual method for people to know who all the members are. And as a resource to remove doubled up member accounts for BW.
