Isn't that a coinsedence, I live on a street called Yorkshire, but we natives all call it "The Shire" My neighbor Pam who looks just like a girl version of Sam, hangs out with this really weird guy obsessed with his looks named Trodo whose granfather Mandelof look's unmistakenly like Gandalf......j/k
But in all senerity:
I did meet an Irish Fellow who looked like a much more Handsomer(is that a word ....??...it is NOW!) that looked like Gollum, I mean FRODO

Lady Snickerdoodle 02-07-2004 11:03 PM

Hey people. Today, in town I saw this one guy who looks exactly like frodo (yeah, another one), but this time, frodo was posing as an elf. (!) He had longish black curly hair, but it was parted over his ears like Elrond's/Arwen's. I couldn't stop staring because they actually looked pointy! well, that, and also he was really, really cute... Maybe I should go back and stalk him, seeing as he works in this one shop. *evil laughter * jk. i am not a freaky stalker. *repeats to self 10 times*

Lyta_Underhill 02-08-2004 12:35 AM

Speaking of stalkers ( ), I was in a drugstore yesterday and a guy who looked a LOT like Theoden kept staring at me (made me a little nervous!). Then I decided he was probably looking at me so much because I was staring and trying to determine whether he was Bernard Hill or not! (He had a rather prodigious beer gut though...).

Cheers!
Lyta

Nilpaurion Felagund 02-08-2004 03:57 AM

I've seen PJ - twice - on Mr. Bean.

In fact you wanted the freaking sheepdog to tear out his throat!

Yeah.

Finwe 02-08-2004 02:41 PM

*manages to calm self down*

I just saw Gandalf! I swear it! My neighbor, who lives across the lake from me, apparently had some relatives over for a barbecue, and there was this old guy with long white hair and a neatly trimmed white beard, who looked exactly like Ian McKellen! Since I was practicing archery in my backyard when I saw this, I got so distracted that I accidentally shot an arrow into a tree. *sheepish grin* Needless to say, I had a heck of a time getting it out.

Lady Snickerdoodle 02-12-2004 02:19 PM

yay, first time posting with this new format thingy! hope it will work...
anyway, today one of my friends brought in his 3rd grade yearbook, and i was looking through it when i started screaming and jumping up and down. Which caused my friends to worry a little bit... But there was this one picture of a random guy whose last name was Underhill!!!! maybe not much to freak out about, but I spaz easily.

Leyrana Silumiel 02-12-2004 02:32 PM

My friend's cousin is a dead ringer for Orlando Bloom. He gets stopped for autographs all the time. I feel really bad for the young girls who approach him for autographs; the older ones he says, "Hey, I'm not Orlando Bloom!" But the younger girls...he'll sign Orlando's name on a piece of paper for them. He said he doesn't want to hurt their feelings. I think that's kind of mean.

And my friend (the one whose cousin looks like Orli) has Legolas hair. It's straight, bleach-blonde, and reaches about the bottom of his shoulder blades. His wife is always trying to pin him down to braid the sides and to put a herringbone braid in the back. He never lets her do it (I wish he would...). The funny thing is, he grew his hair out like that and dyed it well before FOTR came out in theaters!

Lady Snickerdoodle 02-12-2004 02:43 PM

Leyrana, that is so COOL i wish i knew an orli lookalike personally... BTW for any american orlando lovers out there, he's gonna be in New York for the premiere of troy! It was going to be DC but he changed it... tears tears. And make your friend braid his hair. Tell him that I would be very dissapointed if he doesn't...:D

Meneltarmacil 02-12-2004 03:29 PM

Well, it seems like Morgoth the Algebra Teacher has moved up to become Morgoth the Dean at my school, and this lady who was observing his class and studying to become a teacher is now in charge of the class. So I wonder... Is she Sauron? Are the security guards going to be replaced with balrogs or something now that Morgoth is in charge?

O my goodness.I had to control my laughter people would have thought I was crazy-er.

1st post since forum changes.Pretty cool.I tip my hat to the admin.:D [except for my lost posts, not like they were many anyway:p .]

Peace,
Vuelve

Lady Snickerdoodle 02-12-2004 05:57 PM

Mentelmarcil , you mean he's back? *scary mordor theme* kehehe. yep i remember him. thats really funny!

Orominuialwen 02-17-2004 03:56 PM

My little brother (High King Fingolfin) is an Frodo lookalike, except that he has brown eyes, instead of blue, and his hair isn't quite as curly. It was when he was really little, though. People have come up and tell us that he looks like Frodo more than once. I have been told that I look exactly like a hobbit. I am 5' 3", rather plump, and I have very curly reddish brown hair. It looks just like Rosie Cotton's, except for the color. My friend looks a lot like Orlando Bloom, although more like from PotC than LotR. When he puts on his sword and hat and cloak, he looks so much like OB at the end of PotC, minus the huge feather on the hat.

Lady Snickerdoodle 02-17-2004 07:37 PM

Why does everyone personally know an Orlando lookalike except for me??? noooo... i feel so sad. well, not really, you know, but whatever.

Nilpaurion Felagund 02-18-2004 02:33 AM

Alien sightings.

We(my sister Lhunardawen and I) saw Nimloth planted on a subway station.

I knew it looked suspicious when the fare table said:

Tower of Ecthelion: PhP(that's Phillipine Peso)14.50
That's it, I guess. :)

lol, did it really say that??? (wait, i don't get it, am I being too gullible again?)

At a school basketball tournament, one team came on with jerseys that they designed themselves reading, "The Hobbitses", with all of the team numbers as 9. Needless to say, I cheered for them.:D

Nilpaurion Felagund 02-18-2004 08:58 PM

Gullible?

Is gullible the same as being tall, like "Gullible's Travels?"

Zip it, man. You're acting stupid again.

Yeah, I know.

Quote:

Needless to say, I cheered for them.
Angband, who wouldn't. They're so short, they'll need all the cheer they could get to win.

That coming from a bloody fool at basketball.

Later days! :smokin:

Lady Snickerdoodle 02-23-2004 09:54 AM

Hm. Being me, I have managed to attract a highly contagious infection, conjunctivitis, two days before some statewide exam... My point is, I now look like the orc captain who attacked Osgiliath in ROTK... You know, the one with the puffy eye...

Orominuialwen 02-23-2004 04:47 PM

Don't worry Lady Snickerdoodle. My friend only looks like OB when he has his hat and cape and sword on. The rest of the time he doesn't look like him.

Finwe 02-23-2004 07:30 PM

I saw (rather, heard) this new kid who was touring my school whose voice was exactly like Orlando Bloom's! I did a double-take in the middle of the hallway, right as I was going to my PE class, because I honestly thought that Orlando Bloom was at my school. The voice was identical!!!! Needless to say, I was really disappointed when I realized that it was a puny little blond kid who was talking, not Orli himself. *sighs*

Nilpaurion Felagund 02-25-2004 12:17 AM

Looking like Balrogs...

Once, I looked in the mirror, and saw a Balrog, complete with the shadow-wings(or shadow-like-wings)! It was horrible. I thought Morgoth had revealed who I am and plans to destroy me.

Then I realise I've been looking at my reflection, complete with uncombed hair.

To say that your hair is uncombed would an understatement - the last time you combed your hair, Clinton was still president.

OK, OK.

Ah, me too, I get very obsessive about my hair sometimes. OMG what is that? AAAH its a strand of hair on my sleeve IM GOING BALD!!! no, I am just kidding. no one wants to hear that anyway... *bangs head with keyboard to stop particularly rapid uninteligible chatter*

Nilpaurion Felagund 02-25-2004 09:22 PM

Again...

I'm having this again:

Quote:

I saw Hirgon, Halbarad, and Haldir roaming our school. Turns out I was having the "Hallucinate about dead people whose names start with H" day.
exept this time the letter is E: Eöl, Eledhwen, and Egalmoth.

Well, I think it looked like Egalmoth...

Finwe 02-25-2004 10:05 PM

I got double scared with knobs today.

I could have sworn that I saw three Hobbits at school, linking arms, dancing down the hallway, singing drinking songs at the top of their lungs.

That was after you had that bottle of black cherry soda. You were HALLUCINATING!!!! You were high on sugar!!!!

Oh, hush up, Fionwë!

Nirvana II 02-25-2004 10:13 PM

one of my friends named her daughter tar-miriel...aint that wacky?

Finwe 02-26-2004 11:55 AM

Now that is wacky! Even though I love the name "Miriel," I feel really sorry for that kid. She's going to get beaten up on the playground.

Nilpaurion Felagund 02-27-2004 12:39 AM

Fionwë!

Look! Fionwë's here!

I can see.

BTW, people get high on sugar? I get high on pipeweed, but not on something as harmless as glucose.

It's because you've developed tolerance for the stuff. Such things are too mild for you.

Oh. OK.

Quote:

She's going to get beaten up on the playground.
Why, Finwe? I know there might be a danger of drowning, but being beat up???

Haha, OOH yeah, they do. I am very prone to sugar highs. My IM icon is this weird picture of a little guy with "sugar rush" underneath it. Same principle as blue smartie highs...

Everdawn 02-27-2004 03:19 PM

I was at the hospital yesterday afternoon and I almost went nutso becuase there was a doctor who looked like Karl Urban. NOw to the normal fan it would be like..."hey that guys looks like Éomer." but if I was able to (in my crazy state and if I wasnt so tired) I probably would have followed him around the hospital until he called sercurity.

Nilpaurion Felagund 02-27-2004 10:11 PM

Last night was fun...

Enough sightings to make you question the seeming non-existence of Middle-earth.

The Setting

My mom's birthday. We - a bunch one short of a Fellowship - were wandering about the shores of the "mighty" Manila Bay.

The Sightings

1. We were in the car, looking for a parking space. I was looking outside, then I saw this.

Quote:

Pub 1418
Now to a hapless ignorant, that wouldn't have elicited a comment, let alone a second look. I pointed to it, and said: "Wasn't that supposed to be '1420'?"

2. We were out of the car. I was blundering about the wide sidewalks, occasionally looking down. Then I stopped. There, in front of me, was Idril's emblem,
http://www.elvenkingdom.net/emblems/Idril_mini.gif
made of arkose sandstone and marble - don't ask: my course requires us taking up Geology -, probably 4 feet square. After overcoming awe, I moved on, only to be confronted by another emblem: Lúthien's.
http://www.elvenkingdom.net/emblems/Luthien2_mini.gif
"OK, this is weird," I said. Hey, what else could I say? So I walked on, expecting those two patterns just to be shown alternately. No. Elwë's emblem, this time.
http://www.elvenkingdom.net/emblems/Elwe_mini.gif
Witty comment needed. Unfortunately, only I was there, probably the most unwitty commentator ever."

"Was the architect of this place an LotR fan?" Not exactly the most original comment.

3. Same sidewalk. Same gait. Different view. Remember the globe thingy Ar-Pharazôn built in Umbar, the one with the big poster that said

Quote:

Pretty Maia kissed my butt!
Well, I saw about a hundred of those, scattered strategically all over the place. It clicked. There was a haven - actually a sea port - in sight. This was a bay. The Ar-Pharazôn victory sign was erected here. Was this the ancient bay of Belfalas?

I hit a lamp post, and collapsed. The last sentence I made up.

Finwe 02-28-2004 05:00 PM

Yup... it's possible to get high on sugar... Eru alone knows how many times I've done it...

Children can be little Orcses at times. Playground bullies tend to find any excuse to pick on or beat up littler kids. Having a name like Tar-Miriel (even though it's gorgeous and I love it) would probably make it ok in their book to beat a kid up.

Lady Snickerdoodle 02-28-2004 07:57 PM

On an overcrowded subway today, I was squishing around trying not to fall on anyone or step on anyones feet, I came face to face with Grima. It was very scary. I started screaming, which made him scream back, which made other people close to us scream for no apparent reason, which made the rest of the train start screaming because everyone else was screaming. And then we all stopped and did the wave. And when the doors opened we all charged out screaming (again) "Forth Eorlingas!" or in the case of one small lady, "And this one's for my own Gaffer!" It was very cool.

Well, not really, but I did see Grima. *sigh* why is my life so boring?

Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen

I took my sisters to Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen a couple days ago (bad movie - really bad movie) and I was reading the credits (weird obsession of mine) when I saw someone named Sean Borrums!!!!!:p ;) :D

warrenerd 02-29-2004 03:38 PM

one day, at church, i saw this short, plump guy with long curly hair who looked exactly what i imagined sam to be when i read the book. he didn't look like sean astin though... though i did think that they casted samwise very well, of course.

I've met Peter Jackson. In New Zealand. It just wasn't the right Peter Jackson....different guy with the same name...

And there's this guy who can do Gollum's voice so well, it's just really amazing...

Um...I know POTC isn't LOTR, but Orlando Bloom is in both, so:

I've seen this guy who I couldn't have sworn was Captain Jack Sparrow. We were at a shared lunch thingy and I just sat there staring. He has the chocolate eyes, and black shoulder-length hair and a goatee (kind of like Jack with a haircut) and he even had a red bandanna on at the time. I met him three times after that, shook his hand and spoke to him on either the first or second night (I can't remember) and got his email address on the third (on the third he looked more like Roux from Chocolat - another Johnny Depp movie). He's Canadian and his name is Matt....and aside from his drop-dead gorgeous looks he has this great personality and wonderful relationship with God (something I don't have at the moment, but I know God is always there for me). Oh, and a girlfriend, and he's 25...if the Impact World Tour comes to where you (whoever's reading this) are, look out for usher Matt...

Okay. I've finished ranting about that.

These sightings are really weird....

Cheers,

~ Elentari II

P.S. I'm such a hypocrite. Look at my sig....

galadriel'smaiden 03-03-2004 03:49 PM

I really, really, I swear, no kidding, not glorifying myself, look like Galadriel.

Lady Snickerdoodle 03-04-2004 03:18 PM

I like to think I look like Arwen (black hair but pale skin) but unfortunately thats only in the winter, before I've gotten a tan. Also my eyes are the wrong color, but I can always get color contacts I suppose... But I can do her voice well.

Hmm, this makes me seem delusional...

Miriel Undomiel 03-04-2004 04:29 PM

The other day at school, my class mate said out loud that it was freezing in the class room. So my teacher simply asked if she wanted him to set her on fire. Normally, after saying something like that, I would call him Denethor, but he is, and will always be, Frodo.
He doesn't look like Frodo (tall, almost no hair) but his name is Frode. So he's been Frodo for 3 years, now. No need to change that.

But sometimes I think my PE teacher might be possessed by Sauron...

Look-alikes

Since some of you have been talking about what LotR character you look like, I've decided to join the fray.

I look like Ar-Pharazon. Really!

Finwe 03-08-2004 08:13 PM

You'll have to post a picture of yourself then... so I know whose picture I should put up on top of the bull's eye in archery practice. ;)
