That sounds like an action hero name to me, though it makes me miss those days when she'd show up randomly in the chatroom.

But it also looks like one....
so no, and Boromir ..what are you doing...?

Valier 09-14-2006 10:22 AM

Could it be perhaps Ninja91? Reminds me slightly of Agent 99.... ;)

Anguirel 09-14-2006 10:42 AM

Literal to the literary...er...Rimbaud?

EDIT: Is there some action hero called Rambo? If so this may not be a flippant stab, but in fact the right answer. Which would be quite alarming.

EDIT: Lord above. There is.

You may be right, Anguirel. The name sounds like Rambo, it was between Garner and Gibson and appearently you (being young) don't know about him!! I'm sorry but I am laughing hysterically right now.

Lalaith 09-14-2006 03:55 PM

I really wish I were young, and therefore didn't have to know about him.

Mithalwen 09-15-2006 10:09 AM

An action hero, unlikely as it sounds: Is indeed our Perilous Poet..... I would point out that I am not a Stallone fan but as Anguirel's Wikipedia article points out the name passed into the wider culture.... Nevertheless it seems that Baudelaire remains the preferred French Romantic poet of the downs.... :D

Over to you Maestro Fenriso....

Anguirel 09-16-2006 09:11 AM

Hmmm...the Apostolic Agent

Hookbill the Goomba 09-16-2006 09:32 AM

Is it, mark12_30?

His name is a Bible verse. ("Love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, all thy mind, all thy soul and all thy strength")

And, who knows, he may work for MI-5 or some other secret agent place.
You're not a Spook are you, mark, if that is your real name...

Anguirel 09-16-2006 09:52 AM

Actually, mark is a she, called Helen...but she is not, alas, the answer.

HerenIstarion 09-16-2006 10:49 AM

007paul

Newly registered, never posted yet, but blimey, as Bill or Tom or Bert, whoever, used to say, if this is not, once we touch the ground, the very Apostolic Agent

Anguirel 09-16-2006 12:33 PM

Aye! Take it from the top, m'lud.

I thought I finaly had gotten the genders of the more known members right, but I can see I was wrong.

Thank you, my lady :)

Lemme see...next one will be

Dead dragon coming back to life the day dread horseman was born

Celuien 09-17-2006 10:01 AM

Smaug reborn

Who shares a birthday with the Dread Horseman, Mister Underhill. :)

Hookbill the Goomba 09-17-2006 10:04 AM

Spot on :) The floor is yours, my lady.

Celuien 09-17-2006 06:34 PM

Thank you, Sir Heren. :)

Hmm. Let's try something a little cryptic.

Sounds like a seer is going to be sick.

Diamond18 09-17-2006 10:10 PM

Aylwen Dreamsong, the Melody of Misery

I'm afraid not. :)

Diamond18 09-19-2006 01:12 AM

Inconceivable... Dream = Seer, Song/Melody = Sounds, Misery = Sick, how could it be wrong?!?

Oh well, it was my only idea anyway. :p

The 'sounds like' is important.

I thought the Aylwen portion might have been on the right track. ;)

Kath 09-19-2006 10:46 AM

Farael? If you really slur your words it sounds like 'feeling ill'.

Celuien 09-19-2006 11:21 AM

It's not Farael, but 50% of the reasoning is correct. :D

Celuien 09-23-2006 09:14 AM

Hint:
Two of the three syllables in the solution have been revealed in Kath's and Di's answers. In fact, those replies are only one letter short of having all three syllables revealed. So close.

Hookbill the Goomba 09-24-2006 09:39 AM

Formendacil? With the last syllable sounding like 'ill'...

I'm stumped otherwise.

Celuien 09-24-2006 09:47 AM

Sorry, it's not Formy.

You are correct that the last part is ill.

Hint: The seer is quite literally a seer. As in something that sees.

Kath 09-24-2006 10:01 AM

Aiwendil? Presumably Istari can see.

Celuien 09-24-2006 10:08 AM

Quote:

Aiwendil
Correct!

Seer = eye (Ai)
Going = wend[ing]

All yours. :)

Kath 09-24-2006 10:13 AM

I so didn't get all that. :D But thanks!

A male from a southern state.

Holbytlass 09-26-2006 06:58 AM

Meneltarmacil

men=male
and he's from Virginia (me, too!)

Kath 09-26-2006 07:15 AM

No but nice try.

Mithalwen 09-26-2006 08:23 AM

It is not Heren Istarionis it ? George from Georgia? I know his is the Trans-caucasian state rather than the American one but ..... all I can think of..

Kath 09-26-2006 08:45 AM

Sorry no again.

Mithalwen 09-26-2006 10:20 AM

Boromir88? Man of Gondor, southernstateof Middle Earth?

Kath 09-26-2006 02:53 PM

No, it's much simpler than that!

Hookbill the Goomba 09-26-2006 02:56 PM

If there is a member called Man of the South, then I'll say him. :P

mormegil 09-26-2006 02:56 PM

The Perky Ent? Simply he live in New Orleans, LA. Is it that simple? :)

Kath 09-26-2006 02:57 PM

No to both. Though nice try Hookbill. :p

Diamond18 09-27-2006 01:53 AM

Uh, Mithadan? He's from Miami, Florida, I believe.
