I think it was 471, wasn't it?

Nilpaurion Felagund 04-05-2006 08:35 AM

Sorry.

You're close, though.

Thalion 04-05-2006 10:22 PM

year 472: Turn leaves for Doriath in the autumn of this year

Nilpaurion Felagund 04-12-2006 09:19 AM

Erm . . .

Still wrong. This one is closer, though.

Tuor of Gondolin 04-25-2006 10:27 AM

473?

Nilpaurion Felagund 04-26-2006 06:39 AM

Spot on.

Your turn. :smokin:

Tuor of Gondolin 04-27-2006 06:03 AM

In what ways, and by whom, was
the Annon-in-Gelydh important
in the history of Beleriand?

Valier 04-27-2006 03:09 PM

uuummm Tuor found it on his way to Nevrast. It is called the gate of the Noldor. Turgon's people built it when they dwelt there. It led Tuor to the dark tunnel, where his trail was unmarked.:)

I'm not sure if that was what you were looking for...if not, please be a bit more specific.;)

Tuor in Gondolin 04-28-2006 09:25 AM

Almost there. Any specific elves using it
in Tuor's time? And why did they use it?

Valier 04-28-2006 11:20 AM

was it Gwindor? He was bringing Tuor there?

Tuor in Gondolin 04-29-2006 08:44 AM

Nope. It involves two elves on a seperate mission of their
own who providentially meet and help Tuor. But what's
their mission and who are they?

Nilpaurion Felagund 05-01-2006 08:29 PM

This is for Valier.

They were Gelmir and Arminas, formerly of the house of Finarfin, then stayed with Cirdan at Balar after the destruction of the domain of Angrod and Aegnor. They passed through the gate to bring a message to Nargothrond from Ulmo.

Tuor of Gondolin 05-02-2006 05:41 AM

Correct. of course, it may be up to
the vala to decide who's turn it is,

Nilpaurion Felagund or Valier .

Nilpaurion Felagund 05-02-2006 06:32 PM

Valier can have the thread. :)

Valier 05-03-2006 03:59 PM

Why thank you very much Nilp! Ok Where did Turin Turambar die and what was written on his grave stone?

Thinlómien 05-18-2006 07:39 AM

He died near Cabed-en-Aras and in his grave was carved "Túrin Turambar Dagnir Glaurunga".

Valier 05-18-2006 11:15 AM

Exactly correct Thinlomien! Take it away....:)

Thinlómien 05-24-2006 11:00 AM

I know I'm boring, but

Who was Eilinel?

Valier 05-24-2006 11:07 AM

I know this one! She was the wife of Gorlim the unhappy. He would do whatever Sauron wanted to free his wife from thralldom, but alas she was already dead.

Thinlómien 05-24-2006 02:28 PM

Correct, Valier!

Valier 05-24-2006 03:07 PM

Thanks Lommy!!!:D :)

what is the name of Turgon's sister and what was she called?

Gil-Galad 05-24-2006 05:33 PM

Turgon of Gondolin i persume, well her name was Aredhel which means Noble Elf... though she is also called the White Lady

Valier 05-24-2006 05:57 PM

Correct Gil-Galad!!! Your turn....:D

Gil-Galad 05-24-2006 06:19 PM

Other one of the Septenary

hope its good...

Valier 05-25-2006 11:33 AM

Ummm I'm not so sure as to what you want.....Septenary is a base 7 numeral system, so are you looking for another system?

Edit:Perhaps...The lamed and the hanged man?

Gil-Galad 05-25-2006 06:21 PM

Its cryptic, you gotta work around it

Gil-Galad 05-28-2006 11:01 AM

Hint: Other Head of Seven

Thinlómien 06-12-2006 10:39 AM

Maglor?

Though I think I'm a waaaaaaaaaaay off...

Gil-Galad 06-12-2006 10:47 PM

sort of way off... but sort of close too.

Gil-Galad 06-19-2006 10:41 PM

MAJOR HINT: think of the number seven

Valier 06-20-2006 12:10 PM

Ok so would it be the dwarves who got the seven rings....How bout Durin the deathless? Am I even on the right path?

Gil-Galad 06-20-2006 01:44 PM

not really no... what else involves seven?

also Seven rings of the dwarves would be second age
