Well, coming back and glancing things over I find that several people have gotten my personallity right but few have pinpointed my looks. :) Keep guessing away.

To help...Mark 12_30 was closest with just about everything she mentioned. (I'm assuming it's a she since others have said so...I really hadn't discerned that.) Still not quite on.

Durelin: Tallish, kinda, at 5'6, blond straigt hair, curled at the end slightly, and layered. Blue eyes, though not startlingly so like some people's are, and a regular built body - not skinny, but definitely not plump. Loves to shop and likes to have nice clothes.

Mark 12_30: If you are a girl, and assuming that you are seeing as you've not defended yourself otherwise, I picture you as Mom's height...five foot one. Brown hair and big brown eyes. You're quiet most of the time and observe, saying little unless you're really have a lot of fun, and because you say little, everyone thinks you're really smart. When you're inside, you read a lot, and you like Old-English History. When you're outside, you enjoy walking in the woods.

Hows that? Anywhere near?

Mormegil...now he's tough. I have to admit and say I first thought he was a girl. That was embarrassing. But with how he reacted, a new picture instantly popped into my mind of a chap who once came down and visited for a day. Tall...above six foot, but not too much taller than that, or it'd be rediculous. Blond hair, blue eyes, often laughing, though very smart, and is in his mid thirties.

All I've time for tonight, folks. Later!

Well you were right about a couple of things. I am tall. Even taller than you imagine though. 6'5" is about my height. No I am not in my mid-30's though I am approaching 30 fairly rapidly. I am blonde and blue. I do enjoy to laugh however I do not view myself as exceptionally intelligent especially when compared to many of the BDowners.

I inked the original and scanned it to pick up only black lines then printed it off and colored it out with prismacolors and a black gel pen. It's sweet. The two jesters (the guy no longer has a staff and his leg is different) are dancing in front of crazy impressionist-style flames. I like it.
Ooh! I wanna see! *bounces*

Eomer of the Rohirrim 08-01-2005 06:49 AM

Curse the limit on smileys; I had a truly brilliant post lined up there!

Well, the most relevant were:

:) - Lhunardawen

 - The Saucepan Man

 - HerenIstarion

Next time, the 'wink', the 'tongue', and the 'grin'.

Eomer of the Rohirrim 08-01-2005 06:51 AM

Or I could just do it now:

;) - dancing spawn of ungoliant

:p - Feanor of the Peredhil

:D - Lalwende

The other 6 were filler, as you can imagine.

Amazing! You're the only one that pinned me down without the aid of the picture page, then. From now on I imagine you as a psychic sports announcer.

Yes, and a real psychic mind you, not this Miss Cleo stuff.

Anyway if we are on the topic of what smileys match with the best person (right?) I guess I could contribute...

Eomer of the Rohirrim=

Mithalwen= :D

All the people who tried to figure out Mithalwen's signature=

Good call on the woods and the history, and fooling people into thinking I'm smart. ;) Otherwise I'm tall and grey-eyed.

The Only Real Estel 08-01-2005 03:36 PM

Nilpaurion to us in the Werewolf games:

Gurthang 08-01-2005 05:02 PM

Well, after reading through WWVII, it would seem that this would describe TORE to a tee: :smokin:

I've always imagined the guy who be short as a middle-aged, not-short, strongly-built, muscle-shirt-wearing caucasian who laughs at how everyone really doesn't know what he's like!

Encaitare is a middle-aged beauty who is talked about by others because of her looks. She is also quite intelligent and would like to be know for that, too, though her intelligence often goes overlooked. :D

Lhunardawen 08-01-2005 09:27 PM

Interesting, Eomer. Any explanations for those? :)

But that's funny; Formendacil thinks I'm like so - :( , but happier. Here.

Estel, soon this will be Nilp to us in Werewolf:

Nilpaurion Felagund 08-02-2005 03:40 AM

I'm sorry, people.

But The Woman whose Man of Her Dreams Was Me already made a smiley for me here.

So there. :p

Oh no, you need a really confused looking sig for me (though after today at work this one is close to the mark  ) Or else one wearing two pairs of sunglasses (one pair to keep the hair from my eyes and one pair to keep the sun out..... )

I am now imagining Boromir as one of the Test Match Special crew noticing buses, pigeons and scoffing chocolate cake, having a photographic memory of Wisden and collapsing into helpless laughter after inadvertant double entendres. The only question is wether he would be Borrers or Eighters......

Elennar Starfire 08-11-2005 02:15 PM

BDers as colours!

THE Ka is a darkish sort of maroon-purple.

Estelyn Telcontar is yellow-green.

Fea is darkish wine red.

Eomer is brown.

Umm...I'll do more later.

Feanor of the Peredhil 08-12-2005 07:51 AM

I discovered quite randomly yesterday that I have a few songs (or bands) in my head that really remind me of Barrowdowners.
When I think of Eomer of the Rohirrim, I tend to imagine Modest Mouse or Bright Eyes playing behind him. That's in the threads. Via PMs, Metallica's earlier albums have the spotlight.

Encaitare is the song Bittersweet Symphony. "A million different people from one day to the next" describes her nicely, since so many people describe her differently.

Due to TGWBS's avatar when he was modding Tol-in-Gaurhoth, he has Of Wolf and Man by Metallica playing on a regular basis.

The Phantom has Frank Sinatra.

Estelyn has Bach.

Sharku has creepy classical. Not in a bad way, just... more drums.

Mithalwen, due to a well-chosen mathom, has I Will Survive at nearly all times. It is broken up with bagpipes playing mournfully (but way cooly) on a far distant hill in the morning fog.

Don't get me wrong... I have no idea if these people actually listen to the songs or bands I just mentioned... but they remind me of each other.

Mithalwen 08-12-2005 11:52 AM

I hope that will be an omen ..

Orominuialwen 08-12-2005 12:22 PM

I've always thought of Mith as Harriet Vane. Tall, short dark hair, kind of thick eyebrows, sallow complexion. I don't have a mental image of her as Harriet from the BBC versions (the later ones, Harriet wasn't in the ones from the '60's), but more from the cover of some of my mom's Dorothy Sayers books, very much like this.

Elennar Starfire 08-12-2005 04:23 PM

Mithalwen is the colour of aspen leaves in early-ish autumn.

Orominuialwen is a dark, slightly purplish blue, somewhere between cobalt and navy blue.

Wilwarin is light blue with a bit of pink behind, that blends in some places to a lilac purple.

The Phantom is very dark purple.

Saucepan Man is a rather ordinary shade of brown.

THE Ka 08-12-2005 07:51 PM

Lucky... :(

Encaitare, besides being a mystikally cellorific enterprise (I have said this earier in this thread... It's somewhere and beautiful.) has always reminded me of of a good true Pre-Raphaelite work, possibly a Rossetti. Something like this: Helen

The phantom reminds me of an Cubist work, specifically Arch Tower by Lyonel Feininger.

Wilwarin, is more of a Georgia O'Keeffe, especially From the Lake I.

Elennar Starfire, is without a doubt one Brian Froud's wonderful pastels, Penelope.

Well I make a better sleuth than a villain certainly.... that doesn't look an awful lot like me but it does rather remind me of a picture of my great grandmother - - the same shaped face and expression.... I am tall .. the rest well I will ressurect this

http://www.essentialart.com/tt/Dante..._Beloved_f.jpg

not quite so long nosed or rusty (edit due to a Loreal related disaster - I am now that rusty !!) - and I find a suit and fewer acolytes more appropriate for the office!

Or maybe this is closer .........

the guy who be short 08-17-2005 12:26 PM

Does anybody else imagine people as actions?

Feanor has always been a excited forward rushing movement.
Eomer is an elegant half-pirouette, half-jump thing which, if he tried to do in real life, would probably end with him in a small heap and a broken arm.
Gil-Galad is a sort of excited bounce.
SpM is a little amused laugh, and then two saucepans crashing together.
LMP is a smirk which develops into manic laughter.
The Ka is a philosophical frown.

Have you ever seen such a thing done? You're probably right about him landing in a small heap and possibly even a broken arm. ;)

The funny thing is, you're the only BDer I see in action, TGWBS. You're like my older brother when he was younger, and are always talking over your shoulder and therefore running into things because you're not looking where you're going.

That sounds scarily like my father!
As it is, I don't talk over my shoulder a lot. I still walk into things a lot, despite looking where I'm going. Or maybe those lamp-posts move...

Firefoot 08-20-2005 08:04 AM

The Ka I have always imagined as Luna Lovegood from HP.

Whenever I see the abbreviation for Child's name C7A, I get the picture of some droid from Star Wars (not one of the stupid ones, though... more like R2-D2 or C-3PO).

I did actually make a picture of Hookbill the Goomba. Based on a picture of a Goomba and Hookbill the Koopa (Being a Boss on the game Yoshi's Island). Thus making THIS picture. :D

Wow... I remember that game! Mario was much fun. Wonderful picture.

Yes, I know. Wilwarin's Sub-concious has already dubbed me of this similarity. Strange I think, but amusing. Unfortunately, I am too sarcastic to have ever met a Neville...

Feanor of the Peredhil 08-27-2005 10:30 AM

Squatter... wears sunglasses, even at night. He also has a red fedora and is smoking... something. Actually... he reminds me of the Blues Brothers. Oh hey, I found a picture: :smokin:

Ka, this is, and always has been, you.

The Phantom is this guy.

Shelob 08-27-2005 09:31 PM

"The Phantom is this guy." ~Feanor of the Peredhil

The Phantom as Westley from The Princess Bride? Against all odds that just makes them both way cooler...

Feanor of the Peredhil 08-27-2005 09:41 PM

Not Westley, my dear, but the legendary Man in Black, The Dread Pirate Roberts. :D See, it's the name that inspires the true fear and awe and all that. ;)

Shelob 08-27-2005 09:49 PM

Inconceivable!

I erred! I forgot about him being called The Man in Black and The Dread Pirate Roberts...I always think of him as Westley...looks like I'll have to go reread/rewatch that...

Wow. What a nice tan... Thank you. Now to just have Duc Jean Floressas des Essientes design my sarcophagus...

Phantom the Mysterious man in Black? Hmm, seems good to me.

So here. The complete set. The one true post that will skewer tham all. Or at least, make you you skewer me. And now,

The Barrow-Downers

And I've just added more!

(And there's more coming soon!)

Hookbill the Goomba 09-07-2005 01:52 PM
