Indeed. I took the picture, therefore I saw the creature with my own eyes. It was truly frightening.

Greenie's face= :D

I object to this!

It is clearly human hands attacking the Little green thing. . .and it is located in a normal building.

The creature attacking me on the other hand was clearly not of this world, dwelling in cold and clamy caves underground.
Now that is truly scarry!

Well, actually that was no ordinary building...it was a creepy barrow (as you can see in other photos).

And obviously you don't know what scary is as you have not yet met Aganzir or Volo! ;) :p

So that's why there are two left hands.

Great. I was wondering if anyone would notice... :D Anyway, the pic is so cute. :D

Yes, I can definitely agree on that and probably can't say it better :D

Where are these photos?

And I would like to point out that I have never heard of a brick barrow with a wooden door!
(or a nice litlle sign saying A 24)

A Little Green 04-16-2008 09:01 AM

Some of those pics are in the thread "I met a fellow BDer!". There's more in facebook... (You have an account in facebook, right?)

Rune Son of Bjarne 04-16-2008 09:45 AM

I managed to locate those shortly after I left the message above, but I aprichiate the help.

I might. . .

Bêthberry 04-16-2008 10:02 AM

Hookbill's latest is a bit . . . repetitive. ;) But I'm sorry to see he isn't drinking out of an official Barrow Downs mug.

This must have been a nicely organized bureaucratic barrow. :)

It is a mise en abyme - like the earrings of la vache qui rit

We do do more than just go to weddings; we don't dress up that often.

Nogrod 04-24-2008 04:02 PM

There is something Hobbit-familylike in your family Alatar!

I can't put my finger on it exactly but it sure is there! :)

Fecundity? Sweetness? Fondness for Party Trees? :)

Nogrod 04-24-2008 04:12 PM

Even if that's quite correct I'm not sure the thing can be reduced to just these... :)

Kath 04-24-2008 06:52 PM

Definitely the fondness for trees! The littlest one actually looks as though she has wings though. :D

Wow!:D Its true.

alatar 04-25-2008 09:54 AM

Thanks for all of the kind comments, though I'd thought we were more wizardly..

She does have wings... but they might not be white and fluffy. ;)

Kath 04-25-2008 10:18 AM

alatar she's so cute! I love the wings. :D

Well, al, you do look tall enough and slender enough to be able to make swishy movements in wizard robes but the rest of the clan seems a bit shortish in comparison. It is really only Mrs. al who we can see does not have hobbit feet--unless she, er, um, *cough* depilates them? She looks great in a very dishy dress though!

Did I mention that I stand nearly 10 feet tall? Them kids are near giants themselves...;)

alatar continues in his willful disbelief in regards to his children, though they do tend to eat as only hobbits can (and hence the reason he takes them to places were it snows food and rains drink, as they say).

Mithalwen 04-25-2008 01:44 PM

Your children look adorable. Your eldest(?) daughter really takes after he mother doesn't she... the little ones look more like you.

She looks great in a very dishy dress though!
And that after FOUR children - if it weren't for the above mentioned strong likeness you'd swear she'd stolen them....

Girl in the Grass 05-05-2008 07:41 PM

I'm already on the photo page, as Mad Baggins, but I completely forgot my password so I had to make a new profile. Bummer.

Seeing as how that picture is about three or four years old, I'm definitely sending in a new one.

McCaber 05-05-2008 08:54 PM

My picture got put up on the photo page a while back, so you all can go admire it if you haven't already.

Whoa! How... *tries to think of a good word* ...stairy... :D

And speaking of that, I made sir Volo upgrade my picture with a more recent one (taken not even a week ago)... so you can look at it too when you are looking on Cobbler's one. (Er... already happened :D )

I love it when old members return. . .I often go through the photo page and look at the people who left the forum before I joined, I think they give this place a sence of mythical history.

I couldn't agree more. And tat "mythical history" is much longer for me- I joined over two years after you.

I edited the name. Ok?

And also changed Lhuna's photo.

Aganzir 05-06-2008 01:02 PM

Since I'm in a mood for commenting today

Lhuna's hair is adorable, Legate looks like a hobbit and Cabbie like a Greek statue.

Girl in the Grass 05-06-2008 02:44 PM

Name edit is great. I assume we send in the pic via e-mail, as I am about to do...

The Might 05-07-2008 06:39 AM

I was suspecting this, but now this new photo shows me that I am totally right about this... Legate is an elf in disguise! (perhaps Pengolodh)
How else should he be so good in the Quiz Room?!
Aha, I knew it!

Lhunardawen 05-07-2008 06:53 AM

Agan thinks Legate looks like a Hobbit; The Might thinks Legate looks like an Elf. Is it just me, or is there something completely weird about this? :D

Oh, and I thought my hair looked all messed up - as it normally does. Thanks, Agan. :)

Welcome back, Mad Baggins! :)

Brinniel 06-04-2008 11:48 PM

Hmm...I think it's about time I posted photos of my recents meetings with BDers in Europe:

Rune and me in Copenhagen. Don't laugh at our matching turquoise outfits- we were at an ice bar where everyone else was wearing them too. Oh yeah...you know you're jealous. :p But outfits aside, I'm afraid it is a rather bad picture of me (and that's after fixing the red eye)...but it's the only one of the two of us on this particular trip.

Legate and me in Prague. This picture was taken on the Charles Bridge, which is the most touristy bridge I've ever been to.

This one was posted elsewhere before, but I think it deserves reposting in the proper photo thread. Volo, Greenie, Aganzir, Lommy, and me at the train station in Helsinki just before I left. Hmm...I think we ought to photoshop Nogrod into this picture...

The brief meeting of Amanaduial, tgwbs, Anguirel, and me in Oxford right after a formal hall. A few days later, tgwbs and me had drinks at The Eagle and Child (of course).

Laitoste and me in London during the intermission of the LotR Musical. :)

Kath and me outside a bar after have plenty to drink. It's a good picture...I don't think we look too tipsy.

And Volo, to answer a question from Facebook: If you want to post the final picture on the photo page, you can either use the photo from this link or I can email you a copy. I'm not sure if it'll be better quality or not.

I feel too lazy to think - just send it by e-mail.

I think it was 3/4 full. . .I doubt that it is often completely packed as the prices after the first drink is ridicules, anyways they where all wearing outfits identical to ours.

Hey Brinn, I love you photo's from Oxford. . . However I was very suprised by the tallness of Anguirel

Yes, no joke. They have to keep us warm somehow...but I must say, it makes the whole ice bar experience that more amusing.

The advantage is that you don't have to worry about what to wear...because everyone looks equally stupid. :p
