I hoped to make it tricky because as he died he managed to stab Melkor with Ringil in the foot |

Who in the first age besides Beren lost his hand? |
I like it...
Let's see, I'd say Maedhros poor Fingon, but there was no other way :( |

Oh yeaaah you got (I bet you knew that already though) |
nice smiley btw :D
a little harder this one perhaps: What emblem did Tuor's shield have? |
Quote:
And about the smily... I thought it looked close to the point. :D |
hmm...you're correct, I must try harder when it comes to questions
|
Thier good questions, it's just that they are from the one of the books that I read the most. Mine: What was Glamdring's scabbard made out of?
|
ivory...
too bad your question is from UT, my personal favourite, though I usually only read the 3 and 4 parts of the UT |
Yeah too bad, try this one on for size. What was the name of the leader of the Warriors of Gondolin clad in tassels of silver and gold, bearing the emblem of the Harp?
|
easy one
Salgant  |
Quote:
Btw this is great, I haven't played Q and T like this for over a year. |
lol...I think I will take that as a compliment...
Earendil's ship was built with wood from trees from...??? btw, I always hated Salgant for hiding like a coward instead of fighting alongside his men |

yep, Nimbrethil it is
I am enjoying the trivia as well, always liked quizzes the harder they are, the more I enjoy answering them (correctly) not finding the answer usually drives into more and more study of the books, and eventually I either find the answer or someone beats me to it...:) |

Dragon of the Sea...it is a monster one...
I really dunno...could it be a metaphor for Osse ? |
Quote:
I guess I'll ask the guy. |
I recently read an article called "Dragons and Tolkien" and there several others were mentioned including the dragons from The Adventures of Tom Bombadil and from Farmer Giles of Ham, and dragons from his earlier works...
Dragons appear in his books as soon as in the Book of the Lost Tales, they are however not named... I personally was quite surprised to see this question pop up...and since I couldn't think of any dragon I knew I thought it is a metaphor for a ship or a dweller of the Sea. But since no ship I knew could qualify I though of Osse since due to his let's say...temper, he could be associated with a dragon, and would most surely be feared especially by mariners |

Yeah I don't know what to say, I'll ask the guy how did the question and let you know. Sooo try this one: What Beleriand escarpment ran 350 miles between Falas and Amon Ereb? |
It could onyl be:
*drum roll* ANDRAM :D btw, I didn't know how long it was, new info :) |
I... really? I can see your much more well read than I on this subject. Your go then.
|
Did you think it was something else or did you just ask a question you did not know the answer of?
|
lol...no matter
new question: What is the name of the forest located westward of the sources of the Narog ? btw, the answer you might have been looking for might have been the Long Wall, which is another name for Andram |
Birchwoods of Nimbrethil?
|
no...those woods are in Arvenien, on the northern shore of the Bay of Balar
|
on my map it is southwest of the river..... Maybe Nan-Tathren?
|
it is near Narog, but too far south
|
Taur Im Duinath?
|
nope...
SOUTH = bad NORTH = good |
