Alatariel Telemnar 12-07-2003 03:10 PM

oh... heh... Brad Dourif

ElenCala Isil 12-07-2003 03:13 PM

eh, nope.

Amanaduial the archer 12-07-2003 03:13 PM

Or Bret Mckenzie, if we're going to be completely obscure?

ElenCala Isil 12-07-2003 03:20 PM

heheh, great guess, but nope.

Alatariel Telemnar 12-07-2003 03:21 PM

Karl Urban?

ElenCala Isil 12-07-2003 03:27 PM

Nope.

Luthien_ Tinuviel 12-07-2003 03:33 PM

Okay, for the convenience of us guessers, here's a list of who's been guessed:

David Wenham (twice)
Andy Serkis
John Noble
Dominic Monaghan
Elijah Wood
Sean Astin
Orlando Bloom
Billy Boyd
John Rhys-Davies
Karl Urban (twice)
Miranda Otto
Liv Tyler
Viggo Mortensen
Craig Parker
Cate Blanchett
Ian McKellan
Hugo Weaving
Christopher Lee
Brad Dourif
Bret Mackensie
Sean Bean (twice)
Ian Holm
Bernard Hill

Current count: 23

So there you have it, folks. In chronological order, no less. That means that so far we've guessed 8 members of the Fellowship, all three pivotal women, and pretty much all of the other major characters, along with a scale double. So now I make my guess the only remaining member of the Fellowship.... Sean Bean. After this we'll have to resort to ultra-minor characters, unless I am gravely mistaken. And that's twenty guesses so far, twenty-one, counting mine. I think that's a new record.

Alatariel Telemnar 12-07-2003 03:41 PM

wasnt Sean Bean already guessed?
EDIT:

Quote:

There can be only one Eärendil, isn't that so you greatest of mariners? But that quote wasn't exactly easy, no... Sean Bean?
I know we've had quotes from our dear master of quotes that we needed more than ten guesses to get right, so far we're "just" on eight...

Is that a good thing..? heh.. ^^;

Not Ian Holm either...

Alatariel Telemnar 12-07-2003 04:04 PM

Luthien_ Tinuviel 12-07-2003 04:11 PM

Oops, go me. Alright, I'll edit the list, and yes, ElenCala, I think that is a good thing.

ElenCala Isil 12-07-2003 04:12 PM

Alatariel Telemnar 12-07-2003 04:13 PM

would Peter Jackson count, he did play a wee role...

Luthien_ Tinuviel 12-07-2003 04:13 PM

Okay, next guess: Ian Hughes, by any chance?

ElenCala Isil 12-07-2003 04:14 PM

Alatariel Telemnar 12-07-2003 04:15 PM

ElenCala Isil 12-07-2003 04:19 PM

Alatariel Telemnar 12-07-2003 04:21 PM

Luthien_ Tinuviel 12-07-2003 04:24 PM

Well, counting the winning guess, it was 26.... We have a new record holder! All hail ElenCala! (And Alatariel, could you choose an easy one this time?)

ElenCala Isil 12-07-2003 04:25 PM

Luthien_ Tinuviel 12-07-2003 05:27 PM

Oh, I don't know, it's back to the hobbits I guess. Billy Boyd, perhaps?

ah, it probably was said by some other people, but no, Elijah wasn't the person I was looking for...
It's best to avoid quotes that might have been said by more than one person. Try to go for something that's likely to be unique to the person that said it - otherwise the game just turns into a list of all the actors in the films that spans two or three pages.

*Looks up*

Alatariel Telemnar 12-08-2003 07:32 PM

aye, no... not Billy Boyd

Mariska Greenleaf 12-10-2003 07:59 AM

Craig Parker?

Alatariel Telemnar 12-10-2003 05:44 PM

Aye... YES! *hands Mariska a squeaky penguin* congrats...

Mariska Greenleaf 12-11-2003 03:49 AM

How did you know that penguins are one of my favourite animals???

Eärendil 12-11-2003 06:27 AM

Congrats ElenCala! *grin*
As for the new quote...I am sure I have read that interview, and as far as I remember, Karl Urban is the speaker. (?)

Mariska Greenleaf 12-11-2003 07:46 AM

It was indeed Karl Urban

Eärendil 12-12-2003 02:39 AM

Okay, now an easy quote (I hope...)
Quote:

I must admit, my parents haven't seen the film and I'd be quite embarrassed if they did.
No, the person is not speaking of LOTR. *smiles* Don´t be mad at me if I don´t answer before Monday, I have no access to the Internet in the weekends..

Mariska Greenleaf 12-12-2003 04:02 AM

David Wenham?

Luthien_ Tinuviel 12-13-2003 01:22 PM

Now, who's done some movies recently that their parents might not have seen? Dominic Monaghan, perhaps? (I'm thinking the quote would refer to either Spivs or The Purifiers, but who knows).

Eruwen 12-13-2003 03:06 PM

I don't know why, but I am going to guess Cate Blanchett {sp?} on this one. I doubt it's right because no one ever does her, but still.

Everdawn 12-13-2003 09:54 PM

Billy Boyd, arent his parents dead? That would mean they havent seen it.

Evisse the Blue 12-14-2003 09:49 AM

Orlando Bloom about that Oscar Wilde movie?

Phervasaion 12-15-2003 12:23 PM

hmm...i thought it was Liv Tyler.
