Oh I do! An abominable amount! I just spell check everything before I post. :p

Thinlómien 02-08-2007 07:34 AM

In her honour we will parade, wear green and drink alcohol! ... almost.

Who is this person?

Brinniel 02-09-2007 02:15 AM

Well, I know that the word lush can mean a) an abundance in green or vegetation, or b) excessive drinking.

So...my guess would be Lush?

Thinlómien 02-09-2007 07:46 AM

A good guess ... but no. :)

Thinlómien 02-16-2007 02:27 AM

Come on, it's not that difficult! :) (Or it shouldn't be... )

Do you want me to rephrase it so that it's easier?

Kath 02-16-2007 08:32 AM

Yes please!

the guy who be short 02-16-2007 10:37 AM

Do we have a member called St. Patrick? :p

You're on the right track. It has to do with Saint Patrick. :p

the guy who be short 02-17-2007 12:17 PM

Er... Kitanna? She's the only person I can think of in relation to St. Patrick - she just blogged on LJ about how silly celebrating him is.

Volo 02-20-2007 02:51 PM

Celuien?

Thinlómien 02-20-2007 05:07 PM

TGWBS, you're wrong, I'm afraid.

Volo, you're correct. :) Please take the thread.

mormegil 02-20-2007 05:14 PM

Please explain why it is Celuien, I'm still confused on it.

Thinlómien 02-20-2007 05:19 PM

Simply because she's born on St. Patrick's day and on St. Patrick's day you tend to drink, parade and wear green, at least in Ireland. So, when they do all this on March 17th, you can think they're doing it for Celuien.

Because my birthday is March 17, which is St. Patrick's Day. :D

EDIT: I crossed with Lommy. I agree. The parades are all for me. ;)

Volo 02-20-2007 05:25 PM

:)

Donkey, burnt and spicy

Volo 03-12-2007 10:11 AM

I thought that was an old joke... The riddle is in three parts.

I will give a better hint if anybody asks for one.

Hookbill the Goomba 03-12-2007 10:30 AM

A guess...

Hot, crispy nice hobbit?

Volo 03-12-2007 10:40 AM

Nah, but you're close to the first part of the riddle.

Thinlómien 03-13-2007 04:07 AM

I can only think of Don Quijote...

Volo 03-13-2007 08:31 AM

2/3 guessed. Only the last part remains.

Thinlómien 03-13-2007 08:47 AM

??? I got some of it?

Does "three parts" mean "donkey", "burnt" and "spicy"?

Volo 03-13-2007 09:10 AM

No. It's the steps you have to take to get to the answer.

Volo 03-21-2007 07:41 AM

Thinlómien 03-22-2007 06:48 AM

Well to be honest I have no clue, but I guess for the sake of guessing... Unfortunately the only'downer that comes to my mind when thinking about on Quijote is me because of the old sig of mine... But I have no idea what would "burnt" or "spicy" have to do with me... Anyway, I guess me then.

Volo 03-22-2007 07:01 AM

No, wrong! A not so well known member, but certainly has something to do with Don Quijote.

Thinlómien 03-22-2007 07:03 AM

Not so well known? A pity, since my next guesses would have been Squatter and SPM... (don't ask why)

Volo 03-22-2007 07:21 AM

Why?

And not so well known at least to me. I'm sure that you all know the member much better...

Eomer of the Rohirrim 03-22-2007 09:03 AM

Anguirel? I wouldn't say donkey-hot, just regular hot. And Don Quijote I am not familiar with but it's something about chivalry which sounds very Ang; and spicy...spicy...isn't that a buzz-word meaning thrilling or breathtaking?

;)

Mithalwen 03-22-2007 11:48 AM

There are at least two downers with Don Quixote sigs. Curiously (for me at least) they share the dubious privilege of having RPG characters marry my RPG characters (my "type" in RPG land is clearly Cervantes fan - Glirdan that is where Leoflic went wrong.... :p ).

So I will guess either Garen LiLorian or Envinyatar.

Volo 03-22-2007 01:56 PM

Indeed, didn't notice Garen's... But Mith is right! Envinyatar it is!

Mithalwen 03-22-2007 02:28 PM

this may be either a doddle or too obscure:

Robbie the Reindeer, Part 1 in the singular

Hookbill the Goomba 03-22-2007 03:08 PM

Rhod the Red?

The 'singular' of Robbie I took to mean 'Rob' which sounded simelar to 'Rhod' and the 'Red' seemed reminiscent of Rudolph the red nosed reindeer... so... yes.

Mithalwen 03-22-2007 03:11 PM

Nice idea but nope ... simpler maybe?

mormegil 03-22-2007 03:57 PM

Firefoot

Hooves of Fire in the singular is Hoof of Fire, hoof being a foot of an animal and it's rather clever because Firefoot is the name of a horse and our beloved member so it fits rather well in many respects. Of course, having said that I'll be wrong. :D

Mithalwen 03-23-2007 10:57 AM

Well done Morm... spot on.

Hooves of Fire was the title of the first Robbie the Reindeer animated short...so the answer, when made singular is indeed Firefoot
