E's.

Hehe, no, not yet. The longest sentence without E's that I found is about 4-5 words long, and it's very obscure. And a couple others that I thought of are too well-known. Or, in other words, I just forgot about it when I posted the quote. :D But one day it'll happen... You never know... :Merisu:

Great.

Try 'S's', now.

N's....so we can have sine. And if someone guesses C and another person guesses O, we can have cosine.

Guinevere 02-12-2012 10:05 AM

Hm, I have a suspicion where this might come from.
But let's have the O's (my favourite letter for this game ;) )

I always get confused when I hear sine and cosine, because my teacher calls them sin and cos. The foundation of trigonometry is against god! :D

Anyway... no cosine yet, cause no C's... But you've hit the mark with the two last letters. I think you'll be able to guess it now, or soon. :)

Found it!

"I grudge you nothing that I have. Yet I desire that none shall dwell beyond my walls who know the way hither: and if I trust you, my sister, others I trust less to keep guard on their tongues."

Turgon to Aredhel ("sister" was a good clue!)

Galadriel55 02-12-2012 06:24 PM

Your turn, Guinevere! :)

(sorry Foley... no cosine this time around...)

Folwren 02-12-2012 09:46 PM

Aaaaah, shucks. ;)

Guinevere 02-13-2012 08:28 AM

"He hated and loved it, as he hated and loved himself. He could not get rid of it. He had no will left in the matter."

~Gandalf, The Shadow of the Past

"Hated" gave it away. :)

Guinevere 02-15-2012 01:24 PM

Correct

Well done, Galadriel55! :)

Galadriel55 02-15-2012 04:22 PM

Thanks Guinevere!

"----- / - / ------- / --- / ------- / -------_---- / ------- / ----"

The underscore is a dash.

Guinevere 02-18-2012 02:09 PM

Are there any O's?
