Imladris 08-01-2004 04:03 PM

Imladris sweeps into the room, rich blue robes swirling around her feet, golden crown perched precariously on her head. She decides to ignore the little tiff between the Brits and the Dorks until she hears this:

"And with our Uber-Dork Argyle socks of Doom we will rule the world!"

She stops and turns. "Hem, hem." With a little smirk she points to her golden crown, which has these words engraved upon them:

King of the World BDer.

The strange thing is that a few nights ago I dreamed a strange dream of yellow and pink argyle fuzzy pants...

And she promptly gets a face full of whipped cream. Which side it came from, however, is unknown. The Brits whistle and avoid eye contact, and the Dorks studiously rifle through textbooks.

Morsul the Dark 08-01-2004 08:49 PM

It was the brits tryueing to creat a war of the sock within the uber dorks clan theyre trying to divide us!! ll hail the uberdork s we shalll rule...under Imladris as our king :smokin:

Esgallhugwen 08-01-2004 09:34 PM

Morsul the Dark don't you mean Queen? Other than that I agree with you :D I hope she is a just ruler full of passion and grace protecting the right of the people she rules over, that would be us. *points to Uber Dorks*

Wiping the cream from her face, Imladris stares haughtily about her. "It's not my fault the Queen Golden Crowns were gone," she mutters peevishly. "In fact --" she stopps with a smirking grin -- "I don't believe any of the King Crowns were taken."

She stuck a finger anointed with a large dollop of cream in her mouth.

"I shall be your King -- Queen," said Imladris, bowing. "I hearby order that the Dorks shall spread their dorkish mischief; that the Brits spread their cheek throughout the Downs; that the few people who were graced with the honour of king or queen --" she narrows her eyes -- "shall make sure they are properly tip toed around; that the Angst ridden ones spread their misery with ghoulish glee; and, finally, that the Good Christian ones shall..." she stops, fumbling for the correct words, "shall put in a good word for us all," she finishes lamely.

Oh, such words of wisdom! All hail the mighty Imladris! ;) :p

Eomer of the Rohirrim 08-02-2004 06:33 AM

Oh Imladris, we Brits know better than most that monarchy does not reign supreme. Can you prove, oh mighty one, that you are not a mere figurehead as Elizabeth II is? Real leadership, real politics, is ruled by the smarmy, the filthy-handed, the liars, the cheats, the all round horrible people. Who is more horrible than the Cheeky Brit? No-one!

*picks up briefcase and walks away chuckling*

Morsul the Dark 08-02-2004 08:01 AM

steal eomer's briefcase

Bwahahahahahahahahahahaha

tosses it in a lake mwahahaha then trips and falls into water "Darn it!"

Elennar Starfire 08-02-2004 07:45 PM

Now ye've got me knitting myself a pair of argyle socks...

Saraphim 08-02-2004 10:26 PM

Good thinking Morsul. I'm not sure how a briefcase would match a kilt.

Just because I'm an Uber-Dork doesn't mean I have to limit my fashion sense to cardigans and sweater vests. :D

Unless, of course, you were wearing a suit under your kilt, in order to disguise yourself while you proposed indecent things to Esgalhugwen and myself, which you promptly removed during the whipped-cream affair and slipped into the suit-wearing Brit crowd.

You are very crafty, Eomer. But not crafty enough. This Uber-Dork has your number.

Meela 08-03-2004 08:41 AM

I'm an uber-dork. I was expecting that.

Morsul the Dark 08-03-2004 08:43 AM

Ah another uber-dork welcome to the uber-dork clan I'm Morsul and I'll be giving you a tour "looks around" this is basicly it at any rate here you go "hands Meela argyle socks" Those are complementary

Meela 08-03-2004 09:26 AM

Thank you! *puts them on* And they match my hat!

Eomer of the Rohirrim 08-03-2004 11:23 AM

I must be crafty Saraphim, to slip into a crowd, because there's certainly no crowd of people like me.

I must be wary and skilled in the ways of all God's creatures in order to keep a low profile. Either that or have gangs of neds chase and shout at me for having long hair.

The Perky Ent 08-03-2004 04:59 PM

Let's see...last time I took this, I was an Über-dork. Let's see if anything has changed!

************************ Taking the Quiz ************************

Right, well, I'm a good christian Barrowdownser. Wait a minute...I'm a good christian Barrowdownser? I'm not a good barrowdownser, let alone a good christian. I'm not even Christian! Maybe, in my case, I'll change it to "A good Jewish Barrowdownser"! Yes, that will work. Just pretent that last paragraph never happened

************************* Erasing your Memory *********************

Well, I took the quiz, and I'm a Good Jewish Barrowdownser. No suprise there. When Judgement Day happens...I'll be long dead, so I guess I'll just live it up now ;)

Esgallhugwen 08-04-2004 10:32 AM

Mae Govannen Meela to the clan of th Uber-Dorks!

And the Uber-Dorks shall take up a standard the likes of which have never before been seen in the Downs. For it is said by onlookers from afar "as I gazed over yonder somethin' most astoundin' caught me eye. And I thought to meself that looks rather much like an oversized arglye sock, but what really caught me eye in the light of the dawnin' sun was the glint of gold, for I saw a blazin' Phoenix embroidered upon the argyle background and it seemed as if it flew in the gentle breeze as a large company rode past".

So if ever you were to see such a sight be it known that it is the standard of the Uber-Dorks who ride for the Kingdom of Imladris the King/Queen.

the phantom 08-04-2004 10:39 PM

Keep fighting for your side, guys.

Whoever wins this little skirmish gets to be my secretary.

The Perky Ent 08-04-2004 10:51 PM

Everyone, if you enjoy this quiz, which you seem to do, you might also like this quiz too! It's a quiz for Downsaholic Anonymous, a highly entertaining thread in Middle Earth Mirth. Check it out!

Suddenly all fighting stops. "Everyone knows dorks rule the world, really..." the 'Kings' of the Barrowdowns say...

"No, no, you're royalty. You rule officially...you can be his secretary, we don't really mind..."

Mwa ha ha ha....(where, o where has that evil smiley gone!!!!!)

Oh, Bekah, don't be silly. You act like being my secretary would be bad. It wouldn't be a master-servant type thing. Think more along the lines of a James Bond-Moneypenny type of thing.

LOL!

No, I think I'm just tired, and when I'm tired I get petty. So I'm going to remove myself from here for a while....

Cheers,

I'm a Downsaholic...

I wouldn't mind too much being your secretary, Phantom, as long as it wouldn't cut into my 'Downs time... ;)

Feanor of the Peredhil 08-06-2004 11:38 AM

Fea walks into the room with a dignified saunter, causing an immediate hush. The Cheeky Brits stop their cheeking, the Dorky Dorks stop their researching, the Angsty teens quit wallowing in self-pity, and everyone else simply stops. The only motion is that of Eomer of the Rohirrim carefully sipping a cup of tea, pinky outstretched, as he sits beside the fire in a pink argyle skirt... er... kilt. Fea looks around.

"Behold! Yet another King of the World Barrowdowner hath joined your ranks. All shalt love me and despair."

After several shocked seconds, an uproar begins. The Brits poke Fea with their well-muscled pinkies, shouting Cockney obscenities that nobody but themselves understand. The Nerds quickly start looking up all the ways to oust a monarch, and the Angsty teens begin muttering rebelliously. Fea looks nervous.

"You misunderstood me, let me explain!" she shouts over the noise, "You shall love me because I shall provide you with all the supplies you need! The Brits shall get a lifetime supply of PG Tips (the best tea in the world, Fea's alter-ego adds smugly), and the Nerds shall recieve... coffee. Caffiene all around! As for the desparation... I was letting my nerdy side poke through."

As Fea's queenly voice cuts through the sound, silence takes over once again.

"What about whipped cream?" shouts one of the battlers.

"Thou shalt receiveth whipped cream, and this war shall lasteth through eternity, but there shalt be no killing. As thou mayest already know, we are already dead!"

Cheers are heard through the room, as Fea turns on her heel and marches back out the door through which she entered...

Ah, ye all had best be careful with those Cockney obscenities...Fea just might understand ye...Oh, wait, I left out the naughty words when I was teaching her what I know of Cockney...Carry on then!

The Perky Ent 08-06-2004 09:41 PM

Elennar Starfire, It's good to know there is yet another Downsaholic out there!

Eomer of the Rohirrim 08-07-2004 09:45 AM

These allegations of a pink kilt are completely untrue. Ignore her, just ignore her...

:p

Elennar Starfire 08-07-2004 07:55 PM

So what colour is it really then?

Eomer of the Rohirrim 08-08-2004 03:17 PM

Predominantly red and green.

Elennar Starfire 08-08-2004 07:18 PM

So which tartan is that? Only if ye want to say, of course.

The Perky Ent 08-08-2004 08:56 PM

Bekah, Downsaholics Anonymous, conviently located in Middle Earth Mirth, is the perfect place to tell your story. It's encouraged. There's many who'd like to hear if, so if you don't mind, can you post it again, so other fellow downsaholics can sympothize and empathize.

Saraphim 08-09-2004 01:03 AM

Nothing like a little shameless advertising, eh Perky? No worries, I've done it myself:D .

Personally, I'd like to be the owner of a pink and green fuzzy argyle kilt, but I don't see that happening.

Eomer of the Rohirrim 08-09-2004 10:16 AM

Shameless advertising? :) Think Wargs. You are being indoctrinated.

Anyway, I like Grant tartan. Its my middle name, and believe it or not, I am indeed related to your old President Grant. Interesting, eh?

So I should be President Barrowdowner as opposed to Cheeky Brit. Meh. I'll take charming, witty and dashing Scot Barrowdowner thank you very much! :p *tumbleweed blows across the Downs as Eomer is left standing alone and asking "No?"*

*ahem* Just you two? ;)

If you have a Scottish accent, Eomer, I'll probably join the ranks of those stalking you. For some reason I can't resist Scottish or Irish accents...

Mwa ha. And I'm supposed to be a good Christian Downer. Or a Pretentious Prat....or Angsty Teenager. Come to think of it, an Angsty Teenager fits the bill for stalking a ScotsDowner.

Not that I would properly....I'm too busy.

You know, for some reason each time I post I start talking to myself about something off topic?

I'm going away now. If I come back with another weird and off-topic post, someone yell at me before the BW does.

Most certainly not just you two! :D (Just for the record, I too love any accent that is not my own, Bekah. Many a time have I answered a teacher in a Jamaican or English or Scottish accent, much to their confusion. Sometimes I don't even realize I'm doing it. )

I'm an Angsty Teen. Mwahahahahahahah! Fear my Angst! (Insert Devil Smily...here.)

Ah yes...much fun, that...I once read several pages of the Lay of Leithian in a Scottish accent...when I noticed, I just kept doing it...and people sometimes look at me oddly and say I've suddenly started talking in some accent or other...and usually I don't realize I'm doing it. Brooklyn accents are lots of fun... :D
