I think it's Sam to Frodo on the way to Mordor for some weird reason...

Manardariel 12-30-2002 03:52 AM

Nope!

Beruthiel 12-30-2002 08:55 PM

Is it Merry thinking about what he would do in battle? before they get to Minas Tirith

Manardariel 12-31-2002 12:09 PM

Merry: corrct
Place&reason: wrong
keep going!

Eruwen 12-31-2002 01:56 PM

It was Merry thinking about how he was alone and had no clue where he was in all the world. They were in the fields of Rohan when he thought this. It was when the Grey Company I believe passes by and Aragorn sits Merry on the ground. I'll give you the quote from the book if you'd like. It is:

Quote:

Supposing the king's small escort was trapped and overcome, but he escaped into the darkness---alone in the wile fields of Rohan with no idea where he was in all the endless miles? 'No good!' he thought.

Manardariel 01-01-2003 09:30 AM

You are, of course, corrct.

Eruwen 01-01-2003 02:30 PM

Ok then, here's the next one:

Quote:

Trust to luck again!
Have at it everyone!!! I'm just looking for who said it, who it was said to, and where it was said.

Eärendil 01-01-2003 03:56 PM

Sam to Frodo in Mordor?

Eruwen 01-01-2003 04:01 PM

I'm not very good at this am I?

Well, yes about sam to frodo. But could you be a little more specific on the location? They were in Mordor for pretty much the majority of the book. That is, until the journey ended.

Eärendil 01-01-2003 07:52 PM

Well, I don´t know exactly know where they are, just before the are "caught" by the orcs and made to go with them to Morannon? I really have no idea of what the place is called.

Eruwen 01-02-2003 03:29 PM

Ok then. Well, that's good enough. Lol. I just wanted to see if I could make it a little bit more challenging. Oh well. Your go.

Eärendil 01-02-2003 06:03 PM

Thank you, thank you. *bows*

Make it short, and then you won´t have to cut it short before you can use it.
This is an easy one, but still a little "tricky".

Manardariel 01-02-2003 06:06 PM

It´s Sam who SAYS it, but he´s quoting the Gaffer about a name for his kid.

[ January 02, 2003: Message edited by: Manardariel ]

Eärendil 01-02-2003 06:10 PM

Wow, that was quick! You are correct of course. *bows* Please proceed.

Manardariel 01-02-2003 06:57 PM

Why thank you. *grins pleased*

Beren87 01-02-2003 08:25 PM

No, not by heart, I actually had to search for that one.

Manardariel 01-02-2003 08:28 PM

You did? Oh, goody... *smiles smugly*

Hmm... tricky. I would have said Treebeard, but since it´s RotK... no idea. I´m at it, though!

Manardariel 01-02-2003 08:57 PM

Wait... Is it Aragorn at the paths of the dead, when they pass that skeleton in the door... he says something similar...

Beren87 01-02-2003 09:02 PM

Nope, thats not it.

Manardariel 01-07-2003 02:20 PM

Is it Denethor?

Beren87 01-07-2003 03:19 PM

Nope, Hint:its said by a "minor" character

Legolas 01-07-2003 07:19 PM

The Warden of the Houses of Healing to Éowyn in reply to her question: "Who commands in this City?"

Beren87 01-07-2003 07:21 PM

Quite correct Legalos!

Legolas 01-27-2003 05:41 PM

Aragorn to the men marching to the black gate.

Legolas 01-28-2003 10:21 AM

Yes

eleanor_niphredil 01-29-2003 01:16 AM

okay.

Quote:

then I will, and learn what you are fit for.

Beren87 01-29-2003 01:13 PM

Are you sure that's the exact quote and from RotK? Because Denethor says something similiar to Pippin.

Edit: 900th post!

[ January 29, 2003: Message edited by: Beren87 ]

eleanor_niphredil 01-29-2003 01:16 PM

It was Denethor, sorry if the quote was wrong. And by the way, what is the Kings of Chaos stuff about? Off topic, I know, but I would really like to know.

Beren87 01-29-2003 01:22 PM

Ah, Kings of Chaos is an online game where you can play as an Orc, Human, Dwarf, or Elf. You gain money by doing battle, and gain troops by having people clikc on your link. (so click on the link in my profile )

Beren87 01-29-2003 09:07 PM

That it is.

eleanor_niphredil 01-30-2003 12:50 AM

Cool

Dondagnirion 01-31-2003 09:37 AM

Frodo and Pippin after he rescued Frodo from the tower of Cirith Ungol I think, just geussing though.

Dondagnirion
"He who cannot cast a treasure away at need is in fetters." - Aragorn

eleanor_niphredil 01-31-2003 12:26 PM

nope, guess again.

Manardariel 02-02-2003 08:27 AM

Frodo to Sam somewhere in Mordor, which would be in the chapter "the land of Shadow"
or
Pippin in Minas Tirith (to Beregond?)chapter "The siege of Gondor".
