Here's something I do, and I wondered if it's stalking behaviour: I have a look at Who's Online and if I see someone is replying to a thread I've been interested in, or someone who often puts interesting or funny stuff on the forum is penning a reply, then I hang around until they've posted. Is that stalking? I know it keeps me on here rather later than is good for me. ;)

Encaitare 02-19-2005 09:27 AM

Probably is, Lal.... not that there's.. anything.. wrong with that... *shifty eyes*

Mithalwen 02-20-2005 10:58 AM

No that is definitely not stalking *looks innocent*

Kuruharan 02-20-2005 12:27 PM

So many people in the grips of denial...

Mithalwen 02-20-2005 12:48 PM

well I don't think anyone has reached the "Enduring Love" stage.... Clerembaut's syndrome.... :)

ElementFire 02-23-2005 09:49 AM

I don't usually stalk.... sometimes I stalk Assasin, Neurion, or others, but not usually.. ;)

Halbarad 03-03-2005 09:24 AM

A few years back I used to stalk you H-I, for the same reasons you stalk davem and Child of the Seventh Age . That's how I got to playing quotable quotes :D

HerenIstarion 05-21-2005 01:43 AM

Halbarad, I'm flattered :). Nice to see you back too :)

Formendacil added to the list of my stalkees :D

Feanor of the Peredhil 05-21-2005 09:20 AM

For the past week I've been shamelessly stalking all involved with the werewolf game. Even if they're ghosted. If they are, I just follow the trail of posts.

I also occasionally follow The B-W just for the fun of it.

I don't know whether to be flattered or not...

I guess I'll be flattered. It's more... I don't know.... flattering, I guess... :smokin:

Well, another option is being afraid. Of course, horrible dead deadnight chanter following one around would be a frightful event, but for your own mode of existence - you have nothing to fear, on account of being dead yourself. We are all 'presumed dead' on the board, are not we? Consider it a 'waltz of the deadmen', than :)

And yes, I've stalked you down here :p

Feanor of the Peredhil 05-21-2005 03:15 PM

I stalk people whose names are dropped as often as rabid ferrits (to coin the phrase). If somebody is quoted all the time, I follow them around to see what they're going to do next. Just for the fun of it.

And yeah... Heren, I trailed you here, if you were wondering.

Coined the phrase indeed... :p

You lifted it from me who had lifted it from TMQ. ;)

Feanor of the Peredhil 05-22-2005 08:13 AM

I also trail the people that I randomly quote. :p If you can find something that you said buried in one of my posts, chances are you've been followed around by me more than once.

I follow burrahobbit. Especially after his suggestion on how to get rid of some RP characters I'd gotten heartily sick of.

Durelin 05-27-2005 03:05 PM

I've been stalking you all for a while now... *makes eerie ghost sounds*

Yes, I know I have grown silent, but I have been poking around quite a bit, as I miss being a frequent poster...summer is coming. ;)

Well, just thought I should warn you all.

Amanaduial the archer 05-27-2005 03:54 PM

The Return of Rakein! Welcome back, Durelin :)

Holbytlass 06-20-2005 10:25 AM

I don't exactly stalk, but I do get all giggly inside when certain downers have posted in connection with something I've done. I suppose the main one would be you, Heren. You were the first one to 'talk' to me directly. That made me feel like I now really belong here :)

Lhunardawen 06-22-2005 02:01 AM

There are subtler ways of admitting to being a stalker...

I was checking "Who's Online" for the nth time sometime last week when I saw lots of guests all checking out...the CbC thread for The House of Tom Bombadil!

What could explain this strange phenomenon? Could old Tom be starting an uproar? :D

Yeah, yeah I know... this is an old thread, but I wanted to put my two cents in...

It Doesn't I'm a lazy stalker I don't like to work hard to keep up with my stalkies:p

The Sixth Wizard 09-09-2009 10:38 AM

Yes.

YES.

Oh wait, not on the 'Downs. No.

Boromir88 09-14-2009 07:02 PM

I don't stalk anyone consistently, unless you could say that I stalk myself? If I'm offline for a while, I'll type "Boro" in the search engine and see if there's any talk about me, or if I'm bored I will troll through my old posts...but you can't really stalk yourself.

Generally new members who spark my curiosity get stalked for a few weeks...and it should be pretty apparent if you're one of them. And the rest of the time, my stalkees are people who happen to be on my mind.

Recently, I forget what caused it, but I thought of Azaelia, so I looked to see if she had been on recently, but she had not :( and I went through some old threads she had posted in. One was a very memorable WW game, where the last 4 were me, Azaelia, Form, and Alcarillo. Alcarillo was the last wolf, who killed me at night, and convinced Form to vote Azaelia...that was a fun game. I also think it was Form's first...hehe.

As well as Agan and Inzil. Agan because I know she stalks me and I will be there the day she finally admits it, either that hope to catch her in the act at one point. :p Inzil, because he always seems to be in the thick of the good Book discussions.

I'm flattered! I'd like to see more of you in The Books, Boro. You tend to come up with some nice insights.
