3. Elvish Dictionary

Lembas is the bread that Galadriel gave to the Fellowship when leaving Lothlorien. It is sweet and very nutricious(sp?), and came wraped in Mallorn leaves, from the trees that grow only in Lothlorien. The recepie is a secret known only to Galadriel and her maids. We often discuss how we can get the recepie out of her, or post our own version.

ok i have a question. Was athelis {sorry i don't think I spelled that right} bitter tasting or sweet and minty?

Hanna_Gamgee 05-08-2002 03:02 PM

Ok if I can bring 5 things. I would bring:
1.A elven cloak in case it got cold.
2. A sword in case there are orcs.
3. mushrooms to eat.
4. Ale to drink.
5. book: The Worse-Case Scenario Survival Handbook.

Auriel Haevasawen 05-08-2002 03:14 PM

Hmmm, this is tricky.
My Doc Martens.
A sword.
My rings I wear on my right hand because I can't tell right from left and that might be a problem.
My old purple duffle coat from the back of the wardrobe.
A Sindarin phrasebook.

I am sure I can come up with many alternative groupings but the Docs and the rings are essential.

ok lets see here
<font color="blue">1 sleeping bag-gotta sleep somewhere
2 frying pan-to cook diner
3 fishing pole-to catch diner
4 cantene-carry water
5 sword-live and die by your weapon
as you can see, i would live only on the basics and enjoy the simple things in life.
my trip though ME would be an escape from this modern world.

Faxon Spear 07-10-2002 08:13 PM

1. food (lembas probably)
2. something to carry water in
3. knife/dagger/sword

That would be hilarious! Legs, tail, and head sticking out of the bag and Faxon would be bent so low from the weight!

I would bring:
1)Bag of toiletries (what Oandanel said )

2)Weapon (probably sword)

3)Food (most likely Lembas. And pots and pans to cook food in.)

4)Extra clothing

5)Most likely bring a horse, because I can't really think of anything else, but it would not go in my backpack!

Gimli Son Of Gloin 07-11-2002 04:29 PM

This has four pages already!

1)Listerene, I need to get my braces clean, and I like my teeth to look like this-->

2)An AK-47 & ammo

3)An atlas of Middle Earth. I've seen them for sale, they're really cool.

4)A butchered cow, hey, I'm a carnivore

5)A flashlight, Moria's dark.

lelaci 07-13-2002 02:35 PM

Nevfeniel 07-13-2002 02:45 PM

Hmmmmmm. . . I would bring:
 • a big insulated bag full of food (I don't think I can find any lembas at the grocery store)
 • change of clothes, including a couple hats and bandanas to keep me safe from too much heat.
 • I'd probably steal my brother's Swiss army knife (hey, I'm sure he has another, and I can't fight off orcs, since I wouldn't be able to hold a sword, let alone weild one, and it's best that I stay far from bows and arrows; I'd do more harm than good)
 • A Middle-Earth guide (complete with Westron-English/English-Westron dictionary)
 • Before I leave, I would go to Barnes & Noble and buy a survival book.
Oh no! I don't have any room for my bug repelent or First Aid kit!
