Still round the corner there may wait
A new Road or secret gate;
And though I oft have passd them by,
A day will come at last when I
Shall take the hidden paths that run
West of the Moon, East of the Sun.

~ The walking song, edited by Frodo- The Grey Havens (ROTK)

Horse-Maiden of the Shire 06-28-2003 04:51 PM

To the Sea, to the Sea! The white gulls are crying,
The wind is blowing, and the white foam is flying.
West, west away, the round sun is falling.
Grey ship, grey ship, do you hear them calling,
The voices of my people that have gone before me?
I will leave, I will leave, the woods that bore me;
For our days are ending and our years failing.
I will pass the wide waters lonely sailing.
Long are the waves on the Last Shore falling,
Sweet are the voices in the Lost Isle calling,
In Eressea, in Elvenhome that no man can discover,
Where the leaves fall not: land of my people for ever!

A tad long, but still enjoyable.

Arise, arise, Riders of Theoden!
Fell deeds await: fire and slaughter!
spear shall be shaken, shield be splintered,
a sword-day, a red day ere the sun rises!
Ride now, ride now! Ride to Gondor!

Ancalagon: The mightiest of Morgoth's winged dragons, loosed from Angband against the host of the Valar at the end of the War of Wrath. Even that mighty army was driven back by the onset of Ancalagon and his vassals, but Eärendil came through the sky in Vingilot to do battle with the dragon armada, and he was aided by Thorondor and the Eagles. They fought for twenty-four hours, until Eärendil at last slew Ancalagon, who fell on the mountains of Thangorodrim and destroyed them in his ruin.
