Idaho can actually be great for outdoorsy people. And skiing is great. So is whitewater rafting, camping, wildlife, farming... but here's the catch. Boise is a really small "biggest city in the state." I mean REALLY small. The economy is going downhill when it was bad already, there are only about five colleges in Idaho, and there are very few job opportunities. Another thing is some people can't stand the cold. My friend has a condition where she's very cold-blooded, and she hates going out in the winter.
For another thing, public education is basically bad, and getting worse. Last year Gov. Kempthorne cut the budget for public schools in half. When I get to high school, I have to go halfway across town one period a day just to take Latin. There are other classes they cut out completely. They're giving more money to the prisons than they are to children. When I go to college, I'm definitely going out of state. Then there's just big dreamers. There's no showbiz in Idaho, no outstanding colleges (except maybe Albertsons). I want to expand my horizons, and I can't do it here. So there ya go. That's why I'd leave Idaho. |

I feel like I'm not gonna meet any BDers around here...for some reason....forget Massachussetts! Do any of you even live in New England? Except I think there was one New Jersey, but that's too far for me to persuade my parents to drive and I'm going to California in April. What say all you California BDers to wearing a shirt that says the BDs name on it, so I'll recognize you if I see you? I had a dream last night about coming to Califronia, and for some reason there was a convention of BDers right in the San Franacisco airport...and then we transported to the LA airport...don't ask. And I left without seeing California at all, but had a great time! Okay, I'll shut up now....anyway, I need some New England BDers! Please? |

I seem to be all alone. doesn't look like there is anyone from Oklahoma on here. O well. (yes I am a "cow person" and I am proud of it. I live in the middle of no where and I like that too. )

I'm getting a strange feeling that Massachussetts is a godforsaken place that nobod lives in- except, of course, me and kittiewhirl1677. We do live in a place neglected by Tolkienists, don't we Maya?

Have no fear Master Ferny, your Ohio brethren await your glorious return! None can be shunned from the state they call "The heart of it all!"

Bwa! Marlinton is nearly a 3 hours drive from me. I wish I could attend, but that's quite a ways.

I'm from New Jersey (USA). Please no jokes, New Jersey is a lot better than everyone makes out.
I also spend as much time as I can in Maine. I've been lucky enough to meet lots of LoTR fans in both states. |
Thats cool, Mattius. I used to live in Sheffield!

England, yep England. I actually live about an hour outside London. To the North. Has anyone heard of Hitchin? Well its a town near there. And it was also the first New Town to be built after WW2. Its pretty normal, nothing special. But the Queen visited last week to open our new collage, so that was quite special. My mum comes from Trinidad, does anyone know where that is? And I have lived there for a while.

I woke up to discover it had snowed a tid overnight. When I left for school it was raining. In my 8th period class I looked out the window and discovered it was hailing and snowing quite hard. Later in the early evening the wind picked up and it began to thunder and rain. An hour later, I swear I saw sunlight before it clouded up and began raining again. And if that's not weird enough, the temperature in Boise was in the 70s on Monday, while yesterday's high was only 44 degrees (F)! Still, I guess this weather shouldn't be too surprising considering it was raining in December (it was supposed to snow). Boise sure is a confusing place to live. |
I'm from HELL!!
