Didn't Gil offer his help? It might be worth a try asking him if he is still of that opinion...

And if not, I don't want to wait weeks...

Hookbill the Goomba 09-13-2011 05:26 PM

I'll make a final decision by, say, Friday, and then move on or post up.

Durelin 09-13-2011 07:25 PM

Lol, feel free to just finish it!!

I guess you're the one affected by it, so I'll take that as permission.

Let's get this train-wreck a-rollin'!

A party of drunken Hobbits thrashed their way through the Old Forest in search of sandwiches. Instead they found Tom Bombadil, naked and dancing with the Barrow Wight. The song they sang went like this…

Loslote dropped her ice cream thanks to the marching Ents. Her anger was so great that she used the spilled ice cream to make this picture…

The achedemics were unimpressed. Especially satansaloser2005, who demanded the paper be removed. So intent was she that she rearranged the whole university she worked in to look like this…

Durelin, being old and crotchety, was annoyed by all this singing and wanted the neighbourhood to return to sanity. The best way seemed to be turning all the gardens into pictures that looked like this…

The shock of the message brought everyone to their knees. Then, as the silence returned, the people rose and blinked in the new light. Another Paper Telephone had ended.

Anyone up for another round?

Oddwen 09-14-2011 08:32 AM

A Long Expected Ptelephony

YAYYYY!

I am willing to mod the next round, unless someone else is just dying to do it.

In which case, go die and then I can mod, you silly.

Aganzir 09-14-2011 08:51 AM

Bahahaha!

Oddie, Lauri, Begerond - I love your pictures.

Di, Mnemo, ed, Pitch, Eönwë - I love your sentences.

Sally, I really like your use of the phantom. ;)

And I should probably tell you that I couldn't be irritated with Lommy anymore (because of a household chore argument) after seeing her picture.

I wants moar Paper Telephone.

Beregond 09-14-2011 11:48 AM

Another great episode has been completed... I can't wait for 2014! :D

Great stuff by everyone, but I'll mention a few:
I love Greenie's cloned Gollums
Aganzir's drawing is creeeeepy!
Nogrod's passerine Gollums, lol..
Also loved Galadriel's "balancing" Marx.

Rune's interpretation made me laugh!
Sally's really changed things up at the end. :p

Galadriel55 09-14-2011 02:19 PM

*dies*

So that's where Aladdin came from! But I still don't get the green eggs...

Absolutely hilarious!

I'm definitely up for the next PT...

Edit: wow, I am slow! Beregond's remark about 2014 just got to me (like 10 minutes after reading it)! And now I can't stop laughing! :D

Beregond 09-14-2011 03:09 PM

lol, I hope it was a joke on my part. :D

Yeah, I couldn't figure out where Sally saw some of those things in the picture, but a little creativity makes things interesting. :D

I love how Hookbill turned from Hookbill to Hunchback back to Hookbill again.

For whoever mods the next game, I'm in. I've got a shiny new scanner for even faster pictures! :D

Oddwen 09-15-2011 10:05 PM

Aganzir has multiple versions of that painting in her room. As the night deepens, their tiny "Om nom nom"s become louder and louder.

Game ONE, main game

Aganzir
satansaloser2005
Beregond
Galadriel55
TheGreatElvenWarrior
Pitchwife
Legate
Hooketybill
Aganzir
Rune
Thinlomien

OK with playing Mega Super Ultra Über Game:

Game TWO, quick game, simultaneous with the first game.

Pitchwife
Galadriel55
Legate
Aganzir
satansaloser2005

Am I correct in assuming you all desire to play again?

What do you all think of me trying to run two games at once, with the same players? You would get to draw for one game and write for the other. I could stagger them so you're not getting both at once. It would certainly be quicker than a double game with many players.

I could even run a second game with fewer people (while doubling?) or something if you feel up to it.

Pitchwife 09-16-2011 02:28 AM

Hm, my pic and TGEW's sentence seem to be missing. ???

But that detracts little from the mind-blowing effect of the whole thing. So many great pictures here, it's really hard to pick favourites! I especially like Agan's Goya-troll, BG's and wilwa's collages and Diamond's green delirium, but Oddwen's Tevildo-Attack is beyond awesome. Hell hath no fury like a cat written out of the legendarium, obviously.

Anyway, I'm in for the next round.

Sounds like a good idea to me.

Galadriel55 09-16-2011 02:39 PM

I don't mind being in just one game, or being in both. Whatever works out best. (Great idea, by the way!) But either way, I want to try writing a sentence this time! :D

Legate of Amon Lanc 09-18-2011 11:53 AM

Great stuff, and yea, count me in for the next game.

I think running two simultaneously is not a big deal, if the Mod can manage it (and not mix up two games together), of course it's very likely one of the games will eventually become faster than the other - but that's actually better, so that we aren't "overstuffed" when the horror is revealed. The only thing is hoping that it won't come to a player drawing/writing two things at the same time, but that will anyway depend on luck and on how much the two PTs' lengths spread...

I don't think that will be a problem. There's always an opportunity to switch places with someone in the list, unless you're the last one in both games.

Hookbill the Goomba 09-18-2011 04:52 PM

Oh, I guess I should sign up for this, too!

The two at once might be difficult to manage and you'll have to be REALLY careful.

If we can keep several going around a room of (mostly) drunk people, this might not be too bad. :D

Any emails or PMs I send will be clearly marked GAME ONE and GAME TWO, and will have everyone label their replies to me likewise.

I'll give say, a week before we start, unless we get a stampede.

I agree, it is fascinating how there can be an unspoken consensus about what you associate with certain downers, in Hookbill's case people agree that he reminds them of what can best be described as a deform lunatic.

How anybody could mistake me for Karl Marx, is beyond me though.
