Sorry, Eruwen, no luck on the Dom guess! Let's see, the guesses thus far:
Viggo Mortenson
John Rhys-Davies
Orlando Bloom
Elijah Wood
Bernard Hill
Sean Bean
Sean Astin
Cate Blanchett
Craig Parker
Marton Csokas
John Noble
Christopher Lee
Dominic Monaghan

This list is getting really long now! Anyone care to add more? ;)

Cheers!
Lyta

Eruwen 03-21-2004 12:54 PM

Billy Boyd!!!!!!??????? Ha, now I'm going through all the Hobbits that I can think of....it's a good plan if you ask me.

Lyta_Underhill 03-21-2004 01:12 PM

*buzzer sounds* Sorry, not Billy either! I wonder what the longest list of guesses on this quote game is? (puzzles a bit) . More guesses welcome!
Cheers!

Everdawn 03-21-2004 02:31 PM

This is beginning ot make me angry! :p

Sir Ian?

Lyta_Underhill 03-21-2004 03:01 PM

Another clever double guess, Everdawn, as there are two Sir Ians! ;) But, neither one is the speaker of this quote, unfortunately. Keep guessing and eventually you'll find it!

Cheers!
Lyta

Everdawn 03-21-2004 03:57 PM

I meant Mc Kellen.. oh dear.

Hmmm...

Sean Astin.

Lyta_Underhill 03-21-2004 04:17 PM

Sorry! Sean A. was guessed earlier; maybe you should make a list of who is left? ;) (I guess I gave out a free one for the Sir Ian guess--it is neither McKellen nor Holm...)

Cheers!
Lyta

Eruwen 03-21-2004 08:49 PM

I know the answer now to the quote, but I think I cheated to find out. I'm not sure though. What would be considered cheating around here anyway?

Gorwingel 03-21-2004 09:02 PM

How about... Brad Dourif?

Lyta_Underhill 03-21-2004 09:14 PM

Sorry, Gorwingel, it's not Brad, and Eruwen, I'm not sure what would be cheating here, because the beginning of the thread is so far back in another thread actually, that I don't know if it was ever explicated. This one has gone on awhile, though, so, if you know, feel free!

Cheers!
Lyta

Gorwingel 03-22-2004 12:50 AM

Well I will try to get in one last guess... (depending on if Eruwen has it right)

Hugo Weaving?

Everdawn 03-22-2004 01:40 AM

Karl Urban?

Lyta_Underhill 03-22-2004 10:02 AM

Sorry, not Hugo or Karl and no answer from Eruwen so far...the list now reads:
Viggo Mortenson
John Rhys-Davies
Orlando Bloom
Elijah Wood
Bernard Hill
Sean Bean
Sean Astin
Cate Blanchett
Craig Parker
Marton Csokas
John Noble
Christopher Lee
Dominic Monaghan
Billy Boyd
Ian McKellen
Ian Holm
Brad Dourif
Hugo Weaving
Karl Urban

Wow! That's 19 names! Anyone care to add more?
Cheers,
Lyta

Everdawn 03-22-2004 03:04 PM

THIS IS DRIVING ME CRAZY!

Ok, Miranda Otto.

Lyta_Underhill 03-22-2004 04:02 PM

Nope! Not Miranda! The list swells to 20 names now! There can't be that many left, can there? (Remembers just how many characters there are...) ;)
Cheers!
Lyta

P.S. I actually chose this quote at random, too, using a search and taking the first LOTR actor with quotes to take!

Gorwingel 03-22-2004 06:59 PM

Well I don't think that it could be this person... but... How about Liv Tyler?

Lyta_Underhill 03-22-2004 07:24 PM

Quote:

You're right, Gorwingel, it couldn't be (and isn't). The list is at 21 names now...keep trying! It has to turn up sooner or later! ;)
Cheers!
Lyta

Eruwen 03-22-2004 07:30 PM

Ok, ok, since this has gone on forever and, I think, has outdone even Earendil's many quotes, I will give my answer...guess...whatever. David Wenham? I kinda looked it up on Google cause I was too impatient for someone to accidentally stumble upon the right guess. :D

Lyta_Underhill 03-22-2004 08:23 PM

And Eruwen wins the prize! Even if Google helped, that list was getting too long for comfort! Your turn! :D
Cheers!
Lyta

Samwise 03-22-2004 10:15 PM

LOL! I think this should be retitled "The game that goes on forever...." ;)

Everdawn 03-23-2004 02:03 AM

Can I ask what movie that was?

Lyta_Underhill 03-23-2004 09:57 AM

Cowboy Faramir...

That was, in fact, a movie called "Dust" from 2001, starring Wenham and Joseph Fiennes as brothers in the turn of the century Arizona (US) and Macedonia after that. I haven't seen it though--don't know if it is any good. The IMDB listing is here: Dust (2001) . According to one reviewer, Wenham's American accent is abysmal. Some reviewers seem to like this film, some think it is awful. I think I'll wait til I see it, personally!

Cheers,
Lyta

Eruwen 03-23-2004 06:19 PM

Ha, yay I get to post a quote now. Dang, I haven't done this in a long time. Let's see, let me find a hard one...wait a second, hey, what happened to the evil face smily? Anyway, ok, here's the quote...

Quote:

"If only actors were more powerful they would never get themselves into the ludicrous position where they can be offered a million dollars to play a part they know they can't possibly be worth."
Have at it!!!! Lol.....ooh, I really want that evil smily again. Uh..... [*evil face*]. There ya go. ;)

Iaurhirwen 03-23-2004 08:12 PM

Ahhh, the sarcasm.

It seems to me an older, more "traditional", actor would say this. I'm simply going to give it a guess and say Sir Ian M.

Samwise 03-23-2004 08:16 PM

Sir Ian H?

Lyta_Underhill 03-23-2004 08:24 PM

I was thinking more John Rhys-Davies, but it also sounds like Sir Ian Gandalf ;)
Cheers!
Lyta

Gorwingel 03-23-2004 08:46 PM

Christopher Lee?

The Perky Ent 03-23-2004 09:14 PM

Brad Durrif? I really have no idea

Everdawn 03-24-2004 12:27 AM

Bernard Hill

Samwise 03-24-2004 09:07 AM

Because I have no idea....

...I'll go with my usual and say Sean A. He sys some pretty deep things sometimes... :p

Eruwen 03-24-2004 03:09 PM

Well, let's see, let me go ahead and start making my list of guesses. So far there has been (in alphabetical order):

Sean Astin
Brad Dourif
Bernard Hill
Sir Ian Holm
Christopher Lee
Sir Ian McKellen
John Rhys-Davies

So many guess, so many hopeful guessers, and yet, no one has it. :D Try Again!!!!

EDIT: Hang on, is Ian Holm really a "Sir"? Cause I didn't know that. Hmm....

Samwise 03-24-2004 04:45 PM

I'm pretty sure he is. Someone correct me if I'm wrong...
So...not any of those guys....

Viggo Mortensen?

Eruwen 03-24-2004 08:51 PM

Sorry, Samwise, not him either. :( Hmm...this might be even harder than I thought. Lol. After a while I'll have to give a hint or two. After...10 guesses I'll give one....or 15, if you all would like to continue with shots in the dark. Lol.

Lyta_Underhill 03-25-2004 10:41 AM

Sometimes it's fun just to make shots in the dark: Cate Blanchett?
Cheers,
Lyta

Evisse the Blue 03-25-2004 10:50 AM

ok, I'll bite: Dominic Monaghan?

Mad Baggins 03-25-2004 04:24 PM

Liv Tyler?

Samwise 03-25-2004 04:55 PM

Hoomhummm

Quote:

Sean Astin
Brad Dourif
Bernard Hill
Sir Ian Holm
Christopher Lee
Sir Ian McKellen
John Rhys-Davies
Viggo Mortensen
Uh.....*take another shot in the dark* Sala Baker?

Eruwen 03-25-2004 06:24 PM

To continue my list...

Sean Astin
Sala Baker
Cate Blanchett
Brad Dourif
Bernard Hill
Sir Ian Holm
Christopher Lee
Sir Ian McKellen
John Rhys-Davies
Dominic Monaghan
Viggo Mortensen
Liv Tyler

Such good guesses, but yet sill not any correct ones. 12 guesses so far...should I give a hint? I only will if you all ask.

Lyta_Underhill 03-25-2004 07:05 PM

*realizes she hasn't guessed her regular answer of Elijah Wood yet!* :D
Cheers!
Lyta

Eruwen 03-25-2004 07:49 PM

Yay, you remembered! Isn't it sad when you realize that you havn't guessed your "normal" yet? You know what also is sad? He's not right either.:( See, isn't that so sad? Now, if you guys need a hint, I will tell. Actually, I have two hints that I can give. All you have to do is say so.
