Márcolië Lamen 09-14-2005 09:23 PM

Hola all. I'm obviously a new member here. Shelob has been telling me to join for a while now (and at least two other people were telling her to make me join) and I was extremely bored now so decided to actually listen join. Well after spending an hour of trying to come up with a name because I wanted it both Tolkien and turtle related...

Feanor of the Peredhil 09-14-2005 09:53 PM

Let me be the first to welcome you, my dear ALT-coded Marcolie Lamen. As an un-official greeter, I know that I should either copy and paste or at least make an attempt at your diacritics... but it's been one of those days. č,ë,ĺ... they just hold no allure at the moment. :D

But new members will be ecstatic to learn that the 'Downs is great stress relief for days like mine! Welcome. Don't forget to wander aimlessly and find neat stuff.

♥Fea

Encaitare 09-14-2005 09:58 PM

Shelob sure is a good recruiter! Welcome to the Downs, Márcolië. :)

THE Ka 09-14-2005 10:36 PM

These are places made for such sustenance where we congrigate to uplift our senses of true Tolkien and MiddleEarth.

Enjoy your stay and have a wonderful time.

Boromir88 09-15-2005 04:48 AM

Bonjour marcolie, and I concur with what Fea said.

I used the Bonjour, because marcolie just sounds like it should be said with a French accent. Or is it just me?

Glirdan 09-15-2005 02:22 PM

Welcome Marcolië to the Down's. Enjoy your stay among the living dead.

Gil-Galad 09-15-2005 04:21 PM

Captain Grishnahk 09-15-2005 06:14 PM

Well, thanks all for greeting me oh so kindly. And i have another question. Like, under my name to your left,... THERE IT IS!!! It says that i am "newly deceaced?" What the Mordor does that mean?

-Thankx
"What about their legs? They dont need those!"- Grishnahk, servant of the dark tower.

-The Captain

Gil-Galad 09-15-2005 06:34 PM

means your a newbie, get 10 or mroe posts to gain a new name and maybe get up to moi

THE Ka 09-15-2005 07:15 PM

Or, as Mr. Galad has nicely begun with, if you continue, you have the chance of being offered to create your own name... Warning though, it takes much mental power and stress to reach this goal, but the rewards are cute sounding...

Kath 09-18-2005 03:29 PM

Turgon Philip Noldor 09-20-2005 02:23 AM

Welcome!

Hey, welcome everybody (who I haven't wlcomed yet)!! I get on every once in a while, and I usually don't list everybody I haven't welcomed yet. So don't be offended or anything. Have fun on the Downs forum site, and try not to get too addicted! :p

- Turgon-

(P. S: I just noticed that there are some "Icons" that I haven't seen before. How often does the Downs get or change features like the Icons?)

That happens very rarely - most of the icons were created by The Barrow-Wight in the early days of the forum. Occasionally, a member creates a new one and offers it for use - see this thread for more. We've averaged one a year the past two years...

Koneko 09-20-2005 09:15 AM

Ello!

I'm Koneko, an Essexian from the Desert of No Writing Circles (as I currently call my hometown.) Can't say I'm a complete LoTR fanatic, since the first decent fantasy book I picked up (at the age of twelve, adult fantasy :) ) was Anne McCaffrey. As a result I refuse to write a dragon as a main character, since I will never write them to my satisfaction.

I hate the Harry Potter books. I though I might get that out of the way first. They are walking cliches - and if that offends anyone, I apologise. However, I like the fanfiction, and the films are alright.

I call myself a "werd". That's a writing nerd. =^_^= Kinda fitting, since I've started to write my story in my college notebook. I've got pages marked "S" littered through it... werdish. :) And I'm reading "Unfinished Tales" at the minute. o.O . Turin is such a poor tortured person... but I still want to know how Glorfindel got from probably-dead-Balrog-slayer-in-Gondolin to elf-at-Rivendell. :|

Do I need anymore here? *worry*

Koneko

Glirdan 09-20-2005 03:17 PM

Welcome Koneko to the Down's. I hope your stay here among the dead will be enjoyable.

Gil-Galad 09-20-2005 08:50 PM

welcome Koneko and enjoy yourself

Koneko 09-21-2005 02:25 AM

:) Oh, I will.
