Hello

I am new here. I am searching for Middle Earth. I am on a mission. Please help me.

Gil-Galad 11-17-2005 10:52 PM

welcome searchesforearth, i hope that you'll find what you need around here on the downs

Glirdan 11-18-2005 02:58 PM

Welcome searchesforearth. I hope your stay amongst us is horrid and filled with unpleasent memories. In other words, have a great time.

Elonve 11-21-2005 10:02 PM

Hi I am BAck! WOW I cant wait to get posting on the 'downs again!

Hello newbies enjoying our deaths aren't we?

WELLBUTRIN SETTLEMENTS

Gil-Galad 11-21-2005 11:07 PM

err welcome back again Elonve?

rohanon0 11-22-2005 06:25 PM

HALLO searchesforearth. I, too, awoke in the dark mists of this unknown place.
The bone chilling cold creeps about me and I only remember the final exchange of blows with a gruesome orc. Prithee, what is this place and can one get return to the land of ROHAN?

Gil-Galad 11-22-2005 06:37 PM

too bad...your a downer now...one of us...one of us...one of us... hey were zombies! thats awesome!

Encaitare 11-22-2005 08:47 PM

Welcome, Ordimor, searchesforearth, and rohanon0! Unfortunately, we're not like Gandalf or Glorfindel, and death is a one-way ticket for us. On the bright side, being dead is tons of fun when you've found the right place to haunt. ;)

Turgon Philip Noldor 11-23-2005 02:27 AM

Hello everybody! I don’t get on often, and since I don’t stay on long, I won’t take the long hours to find every new member I haven’t welcomed since I last interred the barrowdowns. So, I will just leave it at a simple welcome to all the new members that I haven’t welcomed. I’m glad to see that the downs are still running with no major changes (at least none that are noticeable to me) since I last logged on. It’s not like I’ve been gone for that long, but It has been at least a few months. Sorry I can’t add my opinion and view to any of the threads, due to my lack of time. So, to conclude, welcome newcomers! Have a good life/death (or whatever you want to consider this state of being) on the downs. And make sure that you do more in life then write post to the Barrowdowns. :)

More? Life? What do you mean? I don't understand? :p

Welcome searchesforearth. Hope you'll find what you're looking for. Though I think you'll end up finding Middle Earth insted of only Earth, so you're mission will probably be a succes!

Welcome back Elonve. Hope you'll stay this time!

And welcome rohanon0. Sorry about that chilling cold, I hope the heat will be up soon. But as stated by other's, there's no way to exit from here. You'll be as stuck as me, but it's not such a bad place when you get used to it. ;)

And at last a welcome back to Turgon Philip Noldor. Make sure you get some time for posting in the future. Every possible contribution is wanted.

To all of you, enjoy your deaths and I hope I'll see you around!

Gil-Galad 11-23-2005 07:21 PM

welcome back Turgon

Farael 11-25-2005 03:13 PM

And now comes the dreaded moment..... I'm here to introduce myself
Where to start? what to say? I guess I should start off by a warning

WARNING!!!!!! THIS GUY LOVES TO WRITE, SHOULD YOU GIVE HIM A PEN AND A PAPER OR EVEN WORSE, A COMPUTER HE MIGHT WRITE US ALL TO DEATH.... or well, back to life or what ever you guys consider a BAD consequence (but not a terrible one, I'm not THAT evil... or am I?)

Having that off my chest, I just finished reading The Silmarillion for the second time and I actually enjoyed it this time around! (I read LOTR for the first time when I was young.... can't remember how young exactly, but I don't think older than 15) and Silmarillion right after, yet I found it very confusing and didn't really enjoy it. This summer I went back to Argentina (sidenote, I'm living in Canada now) and brought back my LOTR books 'cos I missed them.... and along came the Hobbit and SIlmarillion. I devoured them in a couple of months and I enjoyed this second reading of The Silmarillion so much I decided to look for more information on the 'net.... and Lo and Behold!!! I found this place.

I should also say that I like to write stories yet I mostly do it in spanish... up until now, as I've decided to try and write some in English. I'm looking forward to hear your comments on my work

Ok, I think that's about it for now.... feel free to PM me at any time for whatever reason!! =)

Farael (no, that's not my real name)

Encaitare 11-25-2005 03:44 PM

Welcome, Farael! I agree with you: the Silmarillion is always better the second time around. Enjoy your death! :)

Gil-Galad 11-25-2005 06:31 PM

Greetings and Salutations Farael. There are many activities you can find here at the downs, from the Chapter-by-Chapter book discussions, Scene-by-Scene movie discussions, if you want to get out of the "serious" and into the "mirth" perhaps Crazy Captions, or the Werewolf Games will suit you. Plus there's on going RPG's. Enjoy your stay.

Glirdan 11-25-2005 09:52 PM

Welcome everyone who's knew and welcome back to the already dead. Enjoy (and in some cases, continue) the Down's.

Boromir88 11-26-2005 04:56 PM

Welcome Farheal, Gil-galad's basically said it all the downs has to offer. But, don't be afraid to explore, there's much more. :D

Beleg 12-01-2005 12:50 PM

Hello to all the members and viewers. After wandering a lot in the Downs/the site, I registered yesterday. I find the forum and the sections of the barrowdowns very friendly, so I'll stay for a while.

Hoping my bow will be useful to the community. See you soon in the sections.

Boromir88 12-01-2005 01:51 PM

Seeing as Gil-galad is temporarily absent, I think I will fill in for the chap today...

Greetings and Salutations Beleg. There are many activities you can find here at the downs, from the Chapter-by-Chapter book discussions, Scene-by-Scene movie discussions, if you want to get out of the "serious" and into the "mirth" perhaps Crazy Captions, or the Werewolf Games will suit you. Farael 12-01-2005 02:23 PM

Well, Boromir has said it already, but welcome Beleg !! I'm sure you will find the folks in here a great bunch, I certainly have! =)

Rune Son of Bjarne 12-01-2005 03:57 PM

Welcome all of you, that I have not yet greeted. I am so happy that you guys chose to join, because you are clearly wise and in all ways fantastic people.

and Beleg, Boro forgot a very important thing: The Quiz Room ! ! !

Take a look and I know you will love it, you will find riddles, clues, grillings and normal quizes just vaiting for you. You might even find some old ones wich you will find interesting, if you do feel free to start them once more.

Phervasaion 12-01-2005 05:24 PM

*sniff* I miss all if you I really do (if any of you can actually remember me ;) )... I think I might come back and play in some RPG's soon... Hello to all newcomers!

Glirdan 12-01-2005 08:54 PM

Welcome to the Down's Beleg. Hope you enjoyed your death. And welcome back Phervasaion.

Thinlómien 12-02-2005 06:44 AM

Welcome, searchesforearth, Farael and Beleg!

(Points for the screen name, Beleg, btw... Beleg's one of my favourites in the Silmarillion - of course after Maedhros and Finrod...).

And welcome back, those who have lost the "life" on the 'Downs, but happily found it again!

Gil-Galad 12-02-2005 05:04 PM

welcome back Phervasaion

Boromir88 12-02-2005 06:03 PM

Welcome back to the downs Phervasion.

Blimey, how could I forget. Don't worry I'll make sure I add it to the automated message. :D

Gothmog 12-02-2005 07:58 PM

Welcome Beleg (and like Thinlomien, Beleg Cuthalion is one of my favourites) and Phervasaion (or is it welcome back in this case?).

And to all of you other Downers, if any of you by chance would be missing me the coming weeks, it's because I won't have access to a computer other than on the weekends. Even if it's not very likely that you will miss me, feel some sympathy for poor me, being a trainee in a foreign town, having to live without BD ;) I'll be back soon!

fairychick101 12-04-2005 09:12 AM

Hi! I'm not a robot - I'm one of the moderators of this forum. :) Newcomers are always welcome; before you continue posting, please read the Forum FAQ thread and the Guidelines for Forum Posting. That will help you to get to know the rules we have on the Barrow-Downs forum. It's also a good idea to read a few threads so that you get the general idea from others' posts, and to use the search function (top right of the page) to find answers that have already been given to your questions. If you have questions that aren't answered on those threads, please send me or one of the other moderators a PM - we'll do our best to help.

Gil-Galad 12-04-2005 10:27 AM

welcome Fairychick101!

Lolidir 12-04-2005 09:35 PM

Welcome

Hey there Phervasion, Beleg, Boro, and anyone else I have not mentioned. It has been a while since I have been on and posted anything. I usually check a few posts and see whats new but lately nothing has really struck me, so if any of you know some really good threads or some good discussions I could add to let me know. Either post them here or I am probably more likely to get them if you pm me, but whatever floats your boat. Well I hope all of you new kids find what you are looking for. It is a wonderful place here; surrounded by those just like you, not fearing to be called names because you have tons of action figures and posters and books, wait you guys dont have all that? ;) I am sure there are some out there thats do. Well have a good one.
