I got it now...
In the middle of the sequence, when you can see them all in the field, there are only eight Ringwraiths. At the ford, when they are hit by the river, there are nine. :D

Ummm... you can't hear the hoof beats?
I seriously need to rewatch that movie... I've seen it twice! Well, you did say that even a blind man could get it... -Eowyn Skywalker |
Testing...
Orcist is probably right. :p
Edit:(Re: Testing...) Yay! My avatar works!! :D |
You are on the right track with the hoofbeats, Ms. Skywalker, but it's not that simple. Keep with it.
Samwise, is the line you're thinking of possible "Noro lim, noro lim, Asfaloth!"? (Ride on, ride on, Asfaloth!) The answer was listed as an "Easter Egg" in a newstand magazine shortly before RotK came out. Unfortunately, I don't remember which magazine :( so I can't help you there. I don't know if its available in other countries, either. |
SIgh...nocluenocluenoclue....

Um.... The sound of the hoofbeats didn't match the footfalls (hooffalls) of the horses? No...you said a blind man could get it....at one point the hoofbeats cut out? |
Hmmm.....listening to it, it sounds like there's about one or two horses galloping, when you can hear the hoofbeats at all. I'm gonna say there aren't enough hoofbeats for the number of horses.
|
I'm going to give it to Samwise. What happened was when they filmed the scene, the horses were galloping, but the hoofbeats weren't picked up by the microphone. So they went back and added the sound in, but they accidentally added in the sound of cantering horses. (A canter is a bit slower than gallop, if I'm not mistaken. Plus, a canter is three beats and a gallop is four beats.) You can read about it here.
The thread's yours! |
Way to go Samwise :D
|
That was ten days so.....
How many copies of Narsil did they make for the films?
|
5? :p
|
Darn you Lindir...
You got it
|
The props team made fake horses for the battles, how much did they cost each?
|
$ $ $ ?
 $50 ?
|
$150? Or whatever the quivilant is in Euros or Pounds or whatever the currency is! I'm not an accountant, so i have no clue.
|
Nope. You both fall short there. But the answer I'm looking for is in dollars. Sorry for inclarification. :p
|
? $ ? $ ? $
$750?
|
$675
And i didn't mean to make a scene. Since the Downs is international, i didn't know! |
$ ? $ ? $ ? $
LOL...I feel like I'm at an auction....
$1000? |
Nope. Still short.
|
Uh....???
$2500?
(Were the fake horses lined with mithril or something? ;) |
$5400?????
Guessing by this post they were made out of mithril :D |
$2,000.00/horse. One was lost in a fire.
|
Going once, going twice.....
:p Leave it to symstreem. ;) Just in case he's wrong though (which I doubt):
$5500? |
symestreem got it. 2000$, and one was lost in a Rohan scene.
|
How wide was Boromir's sword?
|
As usual, no clue...
Two and a half inches, to throw out something random. :p
|
I'll say three inches!
|
Mad Baggins is right. The Lord of the Rings Weapons and Warfare book says... shoot. It's buried at the bottom of a huge pile of books.
Fine time to organize your library, symestreem. Just what I need, I'm turning into Nilpaurion. Anyway... LOTRWOW says something like it was three inches at its widest point. The actual blade, not the guard. |
*poke* Baggins? You there?
|
Ten days...
When did preliminary shooting start on LOTR?(month and year) :D
|
NOT - A - CLUE....
December 2000
(to throw a random month and year out there....) :p |
April -98?
|
Nov. '99?
|
June 2000?
|
October 11th, 1999?
|
Anorial got it. I don't know if it was the 11th but I know 10-99 is right.
|
